Night Market - Nakhon Prathom Thailand 2022 - Street Food and More

One of the most important places for Buddhists in Thailand can be found in Nakhon Pathom, one of the oldest cities in Thailand.

The Phra Pathom chedi, which means “Holy chedi of the beginning” is regarded the oldest Buddhist structure in Thailand. The very impressive chedi (stupa) with its gold roof visible from far away is with its 120 meters height the largest Buddhist chedi in the world.

From November 5th through the 13th the Chedi hosts a huge night market to celebrate 107 years of the standing Buddha next to the Chedi. Vendors offer everything you could possibly want. If you are a Thai food lover this is a place you would want to visit.

How Get To Maeklong Railway Market - Thailand's Most Dangerous - For 23 Baht

A great half day trip outside of Bangkok is the Maeklong Railway Market, also know as Rom Hup Market. Let's take a trip together to Maeklong Railway Market (Rom Hup Market ).
It's an amazing place and is very famous for the unusual sight of the market built on the tracks. Tourists come from all around the world to see this unusual market.

You can get there many different ways but the cheapest and most authentic way is by taking the train. So I will show you how to get there by yourself from Bangkok. It leaves from Wongwian Yai Station and involves a ferry and switching trains.

Just outside of Bangkok Thailand is one of the world's most unique markets, the Maeklong Railway Market. (Rom Hup Market) its one of the largest produce and seafood markets in Thailand. But beyond the selection of fresh fruit and fish, the market has become infamous for one thing-the train that runs directly through it.

In 1905, the Maeklong Railway built a commuter train line through the center of the popular market. But rather than move, the vendors adapted to the new conditions, working around the train that passes through eight times a day, seven days a week.

Getting there is easy and fun. I show the whole trip and how to navigate it without having to do a tour.

Khlong Prawet Buri Rom (Thai: คลองประเวศบุรีรมย์) is a khlong (canal) in east Bangkok.

After the khlong construction bill was promulgated in 1877, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) ordered the extension of Khlong Phra Khanong to join Khlong Dan and link to the Bang Pakong River of Chachoengsao Province. The khlong was called Khlong Prawet Buri Rom. Excavations took three years to complete. The man-made khlong not only enabled water transportation between Nakhon Khuean Khan (present day Samut Prakan Province) and Chachoengsao, but it opened up new croplands along its banks.

Although Khlong Prawet Buri Rom has the potential to be a cultural and lifestyle attraction in Bangkok, as recently as 2015 it was avoided by locals ...as the water is too disgusting. The canal flows past Wat Krathum Suea Pla in Prawet District, Hua Takhe Market in Lat Krabang District, and Khlong Suan 100 Years Market, a 100 year-old traditional market on the border of Samut Prakan and Chachoengsao.
