During our Ukraine Series, we spend an enjoyable weekend in Lviv.
Lviv is becoming a popular stop on any Eastern European trip. It's cheap, easy to get around and there is so much to experience. We say experience because almost every coffee shop, bar or restaurant offers more than just a drink or food. Themed, fun and very photogenic, you will end up spending much more time than you expected.
The historic old town is very comfortable to walk, with many markets, churches and restaurants serving traditional Ukrainian food and also catering for international tastes.
Our weekend was simply not enough time to see all Lviv has to offer so we headed back for New Years. Check out that video here

When the word Darien started appearing in the news in recent years by way of the migrant crises I decided that now was the time to explore it for myself. And so myself and my good friend @TimmyKarter headed north from Medellin in search of a way across the infamous jungle, avoiding cartel and bandits, injury and tropical diseases, on an adventure with migrants from all over the world where national laws don't apply. Only the laws of the jungle.

The simple life of a grandfather in the mountains, far from civilization. A house without light.
That winter I visited my grandfather, who had lived his whole life in a cabin in the woods far from civilization. I note that there is no electricity in this house and it is at least twice as difficult to live here.
Everything you see is a real story without any productions. This time, at the request of my grandfather, I took a cat named Tom with me, since there were many mice in the forest house. I think a cat with gray mice will put things in order.
During my stay in the mountains in the hut, I usually helped with the household, which I filmed on video and was able to show you.
My grandfather and I like this kind of wild life far in the mountains, we love nature, the sound of the wind and trees, the singing of birds and the sound of animals, we love the sound of a stream and a fire that warms us in severe frosts.
I stayed with grandfather for a few days, and after a while I will walk again with Rocky and Tom to grandfather, so that he will not be so lonely.

Cathedral in Odessa ???????? Ukraine after Russian attack / Ukraine now / Walking Tour
Odessa Transfiguration Cathedral is the largest Orthodox church in Odessa; it was laid (original building) in 1794, consecrated in 1808, destroyed in 1936. After being recreated in its original place in the early 2000s, it was consecrated (according to the order of the great consecration) on July 21, 2010 by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia[1][2][3]. On the night of July 23, 2023, during Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops launched a missile attack in which the cathedral was damaged[4][5].
The cathedral is located in the middle of Odessa's Cathedral Square, next to the cathedral building are a memorial fountain in honor of the opening of the city's water supply system and a monument to Prince M. S. Vorontsov, the governor-general of Novorossiysk and Bessarabia (1823-1844). The cathedral reflected the level of Odessa's architectural development: being a small religious building in the early XIX century, it became one of the largest cathedrals of the Russian Empire, and in the early XX century one of the largest churches in Ukraine.

Karpatların yerlileri Hutsullar: Ruslara karşı gerekirse geleneksel baltamızla savaşırız
Ukrayna’nın batısında Karpatlar’da yaşayan yerli halk Hutsullar, Rusya ile savaşa hazırlanıyor. Krasnik’te köylüler, kamuflaj gibi askeri malzemeler yapıyor; çatışma bölgelerinden gelenlere yardım ediyor. Hutsullar, gerekirse geleneksel baltaları ‘bartka’yı Ruslara karşı kullanabileceğini söylüyor.
Kıyafetleri, yerel dili, gelenekleri, el sanatları ve inançlarıyla Karpatlar’a hayat veren bu halk, gözlerden uzak, dağlarda yaşamayı tercih ediyor. Ukrayna’nın güneybatısında Romanya sınırına 40 km mesafede bulunan Hutsul köyü Krasnik’te bir hafta kalarak onları yakından tanıma fırsatım oldu. Arsen ile köyünde ve bölgede yaşananları konuştum.
Hutsulların temel özelliklerinden biri tarih boyunca ‘bartka’ adında küçük baltaları kullanmaları.
Her evde Hutsulların geleneksel eşyalarını görmek mümkün. Kolomiya kentindeki Ulusal Hutsulshchyna Müzesi, bölgedeki en büyük Hutsul koleksiyonuna sahip. Müzenin eğitim bölümü başkanı Vita Boichuk, Hutsulları anlattı: Balta, Hutsul erkekleri için çok popülerdi. Erkeklik simgesi anlamına geliyordu. Her genç erkek ormanda yaşamak zorundaydı. Böyle bir baltayı taşımayı hak etmek için özel eğitimden, hatta askeri eğitimden geçiyorlardı.
Verkhovyna’daki Hutsul müzesinde tarihçi-bilim adamı Kreehunyak Yuriy ile buluştum: Hutsullar, Karpatların yerli halkıdır. Trypillia (eski Ukrayna) kültürünün soyundan geliyorlar. Hep dağlarda yaşadılar ve bu bölgeyi hiçbir zaman terk etmediler. Ukrayna’da 500 binden fazla kişi kendini Hutsul olarak görüyor. Dünyada 10 milyon Hutsul olduğu biliniyor. Onların 3 milyonu Romanya, Ukrayna ve Macaristan’ta yaşıyor.

Fried bread and a potato dumplings are traditional Lithuanan foods.
We know. We couldn't believe it either.
We spent our first day in the snow eating incredible Lithuanian bagels from Beigelstai, trying to find warm clothes, exploring a winter forest and venturing into a totally seperate republic called Uzupis!
We finished the day at a traditional Lithuanian restaurant called Etno Dvaras where we had fried bread with garlic sauce and one of the best dumplings we've ever had (INCLUDING OUR TIME SPENT IN ASIA)

這個剛剛免簽並要求改國名的歐洲國家，就是位於歐洲地理中心的白俄羅斯，他更希望中國遊客稱其為白羅斯。
關於白俄羅斯的“白”字，有一種說法是，沒有被蒙古帝國征服、沒有與韃靼人混血的俄羅斯人為白俄羅斯人。他們的確相信自己的血統最純粹也最純淨。
這個地處東歐平原的內陸國家，全國最高的山峰海拔只有300多米，但境內卻有2萬多條河流和大面積的沼澤地，自然湖泊1萬多個，也被稱為萬湖之國。
其森林覆蓋面積更是達到了40％，其中就包括歐洲最古老的森林，因此也有歐洲綠肺的美譽。
白俄羅斯是一個安全寧靜綠色清潔的國家，與俄羅斯和烏克蘭相比，它擁有更好的道路交通網絡。
白俄羅斯重工業發達，擁有世界頂尖水平的最大的超重型卡車（自重800噸，可載500噸），如今他們也能生產小汽車了，其總統盧卡申科要求政府新公務車一律只許買吉利。
另外白俄羅斯還擁有中國在歐洲建立的規模最大的中白工業園，園區就在其首都明斯克機場附近。

白俄羅斯以其城堡，綠色自然和古老的城市而聞名，冬季裡更是一片潔白，清新寧靜。白俄羅斯還是東歐的矽谷（出產遊戲坦克世界），程序員的工資高於所有鄰國，但全民平均工資則基本上是歐洲最低的，儘管如此，白俄羅斯人依舊比較溫和嚴謹，並沒有什么生活壓力，年輕人會兼職做自己喜歡的工作，其中不乏從中國代購商品兼職做電商。
