➤Balchik (Bulgarian: Балчик, Romanian: Balcic, Turkish: Balçık) is a Black Sea coastal town and seaside resort in the Southern Dobruja area of northeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Dobrich Province and is 42 km northeast of Varna. The town sprawls scenically along hilly terraces descending from the Dobruja plateau to the sea.

Back in 2013, my wife Ana and I spent 22 days driving around the beautiful Balkan country of Bulgaria. These are the 15 places you have to visit in Bulgaria!
1. Sofia
Bulgaria’s capital and largest city is the ancient city of Sofia. It’s the perfect city to begin your Bulgarian vacation. Check out Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the National Archaeological Museum, and the ruins of the Fortress of Serdika.
2. Rila Monastery
About 73 miles south of Sofia is Rila Monastery, the largest Eastern Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria. It’s famous for its beautiful frescoes!
3. Plovdiv
Plovdiv is the second-largest city in Bulgaria. Check out the 2nd century Stadium, the Ancient Forum, the Old Town, and the pedestrian-friendly city center!
4. Hisarya
From Plovdiv, take a day trip to the ancient Roman town of Hisarya, which is home to some of the best-preserved Roman gates and walls in Bulgaria, as well as ancient streets, Roman baths, and an amphitheater!
5. Stara Zagora
In Stara Zagora, visit the Neolithic Dwellings Museum, the Regional History Museum, and the Roman Forum of Augusta Trayana!
6. Burgas
In the coastal city of Burgas, check out the Sea Garden and Sculpture Garden, the Archaeological Museum of Burgas, and the annual Sand Festival. Grab a bite at either Ethnos Restaurant or Vodenitsata Restaurant.
7. Sozopol
Sozopol is a seaside town that dates back to the 7th century BC. You can find the remains of Apollonia on St. Kirik Island, and remains of the old city walls around town. Don’t forget the annual Apollonia Art Festival!
8. Pomorie
In the seaside resort town of Pomorie, check out its beach as well as the town’s wine production, salt production, and mineral water. You also can’t miss the unique Beehive Tomb, the only tomb of its kind in Bulgaria!
9. Varna
In the ancient city of Varna, visit Dormition of Mother of God Cathedral, the 2nd century Varna Roman Baths, and the Varna Necropolis. Don’t miss the oldest gold treasure known to man, the Gold of Varna, at the Varna Archaeological Museum!
10. Balchik Palace
Balchik Palace stands between the cliffs and the sea two kilometers south of Balchik. It’s made up of several buildings, a monastery, chapel, and more, and offers stunning views of the Black Sea!
11. Pliska
While in Varna, take a day trip to Pliska, a small town that served as the capital of the First Bulgarian Empire from 681 to 893 AD. The Byzantines burned Pliska to the ground, leaving only remains of the royal palace, the basilica, and walls.
12. Ruse
In Ruse, check out the historical architecture, the Pantheon of National Revival Heroes and the Regional Museum of History, and then have a traditional meal at Mehana Chiflika. Take a day trip from Ruse to the Rock Churches of Ivanovo!
13. Veliko Tarnovo
Veliko Tarnovo is a beautiful, 5,000-year-old city along the Yantra River. Notable sites include Tsaravets Fortress, the Old Town, and the Archaeological Museum. Don’t forget the Assens Monument!
14. Nicopolis ad Istrum
A great day trip from Veliko Tarnovo is the early Byzantine city of Nikopolis ad Istrum, founded in 106 AD by Emperor Trajan. The city’s remains include ancient streets, a forum, public baths, an odeon, public buildings, and an agora.
15. Maryan Winery
To get a taste of some of Bulgaria’s best wine, visit Maryan Winery in the village of Elena. They produce an award-winning rosé as well as limited amounts of Savignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and other blends.

The Devetàshka cave ( #Devetàshka #peshterà as it is pronounced in #Bulgarian) is a picturesque karst cave near Veliko Tarnovo.
Discovered in 1921 by Bulgarian explorers, the cave went a number of years without being recognized for its cultural heritage and was even used as an oil depot in the 1950s. Today, Devetashka is a protected national landmark of national and international significance and has been declared a monument of culture.

Cape Kaliakra is one of the most beautiful and historic Capes in #Europe. Situated close to the #RomanianBorder, it is a favorite stop for tourists looking for pretty sights and interesting historic places to visit north of Varna.

The official name of the palace was the Quiet Nest Palace. It was constructed between 1926 and 1937, during the Romanian control of the region, for the needs of #QueenMarieofRomania

The Orlova Chuka Cave is a work of nature with unique beauty and one of the most interesting caves in Bulgaria. Since 1963 it is a natural landmark and since 1978 it is an archeological cultural monument with national importance.
Orlova Chuka cave's name is connected with the name of the cliff where is its entrance. In the near past, there were eagles living there.

The Krushunskiye are a series of waterfalls in northern Bulgaria, near the village of Krushuna, Letnitsa Municipality, 34 km from the city of Lovech. They are famous with their picturesque landscape and are formed by many travertines.

Situated between the countryside’s cliffs and the Black Sea coastline, the Balchik Palace is unlike most royal palaces in Europe. Instead of having one colossal building as the focal point of the area, Balchik Palace (also known as Quiet Nest Palace) is instead illustrated with sprawling gardens and scattered villas. Bulgaria is jam packed with fantastic attractions to visit. From its dense forested mountain ranges to the sandy beaches of the Black Sea, there’s a wealth of wonderful Bulgarian visitor attractions to explore. But with so much on offer it can be hard to know exactly where to begin, which is why we thought we’d lend a helping hand with our shiny list of the Top 10 tourist attractions in Bulgaria.
1. Rila Monastery
With its stunning location in the forested valley of the Rila Mountrains, the Rila Monastery - Bulgaria’s largest and most famous monastery – ranks among the most famous Bulgarian tourist attractions. On top of its epic size and surrounds, the Monastery models a colourful, almost kitsch exterior alongside vibrant wall paintings in its striking interior.
2. Belogradchik Fortress
Situated amid a cluster of strange shaped rocks, and almost blending in with them, the Belogradchik Fortress is one of Bulgaria’s top visitor attractions and among the most famous. Originally built by the Romans, it was later expanded by the Byzantines, Bulgarians and Turks. The natural landscape, combined with the buildings themselves, make Belogradchik an atmospheric, almost haunting site to visit.
3. Boyana Church
One of Bulgaria’s most fascinating places and UNESCO-listed, Boyana Church definitely highlights that it’s what’s inside that counts. A relatively dark, lacklustre church hides some of the most spectacular medieval frescoes in the whole of Europe. They’re an historical treasure and a brilliant example of the art of the period. This obscure gem is nonetheless one of the most remarkable tourist attractions in Bulgaria and definitely worth making the effort to see.
4. Baba Vida Fortress
An imposing fortification, the Baba Vida Fortress is probably the best-preserved Medieval castle in Bulgaria. It only needs some real-life knights and our medieval fantasy would be complete. It was first built in the 10th century and has withstood a variety of attacks and sieges over its lifetime. Other epic episodes to think about while walking through the rooms and towers of Baba Vilda are its capture by the Hungarians and the Ottomans.
5. Rozhen Monastery
With stunning views that will live long in the memory, the medieval Rozhen Monastery - whose history stretches all the way back to the 9th century AD - is arguably one of Bulgaria’s best tourist attractions. Perched atop a lofty mountain, with panoramic views across the region, the medieval monastery is known for its beautiful wood carvings, stained glass windows and elaborate murals, some of which have survived from the 15th century.
6. Tomb of Kazanlack
Visit this ancient burial site to behold Bulgaria's best-preserved artistic masterpieces from the Hellenistic period (from the 4th century BC to be precise). The murals are remarkable, with their splendid portrayal of horses and couples embracing. The tomb of Kazanlack is definitely the best known of the burial sites from this period, but there are a number of other tombs in the area which are worth exploring.
7. Pliska
Once you’ve explored Bulgaria’s current capital, Sofia, why not venture to the country’s original, medieval capital Pliska? This archaeological site, with its complex system of fortifications, was the main city of the First Bulgarian Empire from 681AD until 893AD. A particular highlight is the church known as the Big Basilica. Pliska might not be large by modern city standards, but the ruins still spread over 23 square kilometres, so be sure to pack comfy shoes.
8. Perperikon
Not necessarily what you think of when you consider the visitor attractions on offer in Bulgaria, but the country actually boasts a wealth of ancient remains. Prime among these, the ruins of Perperikon are worth visiting as much for what they represent as what they still show today. Inhabited since 5000BC, Perperikon housed the Temple of Dionysus, legendary for being the place of great prophecies.
9. Tsarevets Castle
Tsarevets Castle is one of Bulgaria’s most interesting tourist destinations. Located in the city of Veliko Tarnovo, this medieval fortress was the centre of the Second Bulgarian Empire from the 12th century AD. It was then captured by the Ottoman Empire in the 14th century, though it continued to flex its muscles for centuries to come.
10. Djumaya Mosque
A slightly more unusual one on our list of the top ten tourist attractions of Bulgaria, the Djumaya Mosque nevertheless very much deserves its place. It’s one of the oldest mosques in Europe and dates back to around the 14th century, with a design considered typical of mosques from the era. Services are still held at Djumaya, so be sure to check in advance to find a good time to visit as you will definitely want to see the floral motifs and medallions bearing Koranic texts that decorate its inside.

HD Balchik resort and beautiful girls-Bulgaria
Balchik is a small town located on the Black Sea ' s banc, about 70 km from Mangalia (Romania) and 35 km from Varna (Bulgaria).Between 1913-1940 years belonged to Romania.In Balchik is the famous summer castle ( The official name was the Quiet Nest Palace ) the favorite residence of Queen Marie of Romania.It was constructed between 1926 and 1937, during the Romanian control of the region, for the needs of Queen Marie of Romania. The palace complex consists of a number of residential villas, a smoking hall, a wine cellar, a power station, a monastery, a holy spring, a chapel and many other buildings, as well as most notably a park that is today a state-run botanical garden.
Marie of Romania, the wife of Ferdinand I of Romania, visited Balchik in 1921 and liked the location of the summer residence, ordering the vineyards, gardens and water mills of local citizens to be bought so a palace could be constructed at their place. Balkan and Oriental motives were used in the construction of the palace that was carried out by Italian architects Augustino and Americo, while a florist was hired from Switzerland to arrange the park. The main building's extravagant minaret coexists with a Christian chapel, perfectly illustrating the queen's Bahá'í beliefs.[1]
Today many of the former royal villas and other buildings of the complex are reorganized inside and used to accommodate tourists. Some of the older Bulgarian water mills have also been preserved and reconstructed as restaurants or tourist villas.

The Balchik Palace (Bulgarian: Дворец в Балчик, Dvorets v Balchik; Romanian: Castelul din Balcic) is a palace in the Bulgarian Black Sea town and resort of Balchik in Southern Dobruja. The official name of the palace was the Quiet Nest Palace. It was constructed between 1926 and 1937, during the Romanian control of the region, for the needs of Queen Marie of Romania. The palace complex consists of a number of residential villas, a smoking hall, a wine cellar, a power station, a monastery, a holy spring, a chapel and many other buildings, as well as most notably a park that is today a state-run botanical garden. Balchik Palace is 17 metres (56 ft) above sea level.
