???????? BAJINA BAŠTA, Serbia - Thinking of travelling to Serbia? This is part 8 of my 2021 Serbia travel series from the beautiful district of Zlatibor in western Serbia! I'm based in lesser-known city of Užice and exploring the area surrounding Tara National Park, including Mokra Gora, the Šargan Eight train and in this video, Bajina Bašta!
Bajina Bašta is a small town and the gateway to the vast Tara National Park. There are two important things to do or activities in Bajina Bašta - the House on the Drina - a bizarre wooden house built on a rock in the middle of the River Drina on the border with Bosnia & Herzegovina (Republika Srpska) and the almost hidden Rača Monastery, located 7km out of town in the Serbian countryside, dating back to the 13th century.
Whether you're interested in Serbian history, architecture, or food, there's an immense amount to do in Serbia and western Serbia is truly beautiful! Tourism here isn't as developed as in Belgrade so why not add it to your Balkans itinerary!

VRELO RIVER & RESTAURANT – Bajina Bašta, Serbia
Vrelo river is only 365 meters long ('the river of the year') – this makes it one of the shortest rivers in the world. It is located in Western Serbia, in a town called Bajina Bašta.
The water is crystal clear and drinkable. You can walk from the one end of the river to the other and admire the greenery around it.
The river connects with the river Drina, forming a beautiful waterfall. On top of the waterfall is a dreamy restaurant, also called Vrelo, in which we will be celebrating our wedding in July 2020!
I totally recommend this place for a day trip or even a longer relaxing vacation – there is a boutique hotel right next to it (Zepter hotel).

RAFTING ON DRINA RIVER - Bajina Basta, Serbia
This video is a preview of our rafting experience on river Drina in Bajina Basta. During the ride, you can take a closer look at the beautiful Vrelo waterfall and the famous Drina House.
The water is quite fast-moving, making the water very clear and also quite fresh during the summer months. You can take a quick dip in the river during the shallow parts.

Must read-Today i went from Belgrade city to Bajina Basta by bus. All were going well,then in the bus i felt uncomfortable and after sometime i asked myself if i did a mistake by choosing the travel solo!!!
But as it is said that don’t judge a book by it’s cover. I should also not have to judge a person but it is our mindset that if a person consumed alcohol then he is not in his sense and definitely will do something wrong.
Same happened to me in the bus and i was really scared because it was already dark and the town was quite deserted,and one by one all the passengers were also getting off the bus..
But I am here now.safe and more confident.????

Bajina Basta to Novi Sad on Raketa Bus| NJ Backpacker ke saath gappe| Busses of Serbia
I travelled from Bajina Basta to Novi Sad the second largest city in Serbia on a bus. I used Raketa AB which is a reknowned bus company in Serbia. Tickets can be purchased at the bus station counter. Or you can board the bus and book it on the go. Seats arent reserved as such.

Today after visiting Raça monastery I moved for Zlatibore via Užice and there were beautiful serene on the way.
In Zlatibore i visited the tourist information centre to book day tour for next day.Also did hitchhiking because i had no other option there.
