An der Burgenstraße zwischen Heidelberg und Heilbronn liegt die Stadt Bad Wimpfen mit ca. 7.242 Einwohnern. Die romantische Stadtsilhouette hoch über dem Neckar ist von Weitem her sichtbar und wird geprägt durch die ehemals größte staufische Kaiserpfalz nördlich der Alpen mit der mittelalterlichen Burganlage, Türmen und Toren, Fachwerkhäusern und Kirchen.
„Vergangenheit fühlen - Gegenwart genießen“ gilt sowohl für Bürger wie für Gäste von Bad Wimpfen, denn die Geschichte ist auf Schritt und Tritt erlebbar. Doch um die ein oder andere Errungenschaften des heute modernen Sole-Heilbades würden die Stauferkönige dankbar sein, denn sie haben manch Komfort und Abwechslung mit sich gebracht.
Die Stadt besteht aus den drei Stadtteilen Bad Wimpfen am Berg, Bad Wimpfen im Tal und Hohenstadt. Das Minenjagdboot Bad Rappenau mit der Kennung M 1067 ist eines von 10 Minenjagd- und Tauchereinsatzbooten der Frankenthal-Klasse Typ 332.
Im Rahmen des jährlichen Open Ships im Kieler Tirpitzhafens während der Kieler Woche 2019 konnte auch das Tauchereinsatzboot Bad Rappenau M 1067 besichtigt werden.

Bad Wimpfen ist eine Kurstadt am Neckar im Landkreis Heilbronn in Baden-Württemberg in der Region Kraichgau. Sie gehört zur Region Heilbronn-Franken und zur europäischen Metropolregion Stuttgart. Die Stadt war einst mittelalterliche Stauferpfalz und später bis 1803 Reichsstadt.
Bad Wimpfen liegt am linken Ufer des Neckars etwa 10 km nordnordwestlich von Heilbronn. Sein älterer Teil, Wimpfen im Tal, zieht sich längs des Flusses in seiner dort recht breiten linken Aue. Etwas westlich davon steht Wimpfen am Berg auf dem zum Kraichgau hin ansteigenden oberen Hang links des Flusstals.
Bad Wimpfen hat Kureinrichtungen sowie viele Bau- und Kunstdenkmäler aus zwei Jahrtausenden. Die historische Altstadt ist komplett denkmalgeschützt.

Welcome to one of the oldest Christmas Markets in Germany - Altdeutscher Weihnachtsmarkt in Bad Wimpfen. It is unique because it is opened only from Friday till Sunday, and you cannot visit it during working days. In my opinion this is one of the best German Christmas Markets and you should definitely visit it. This Christmas Market has been opened first time in 1487. Moreover the observation deck on the tower is opened during the Christmas Market, entrance is only 2 Euro - I have added several shots from there, but the walking path is pretty narrow.

Pay attention to the fact that you must leave 2 Euros for the cup and you cannot return the cup back! In this location this is the first time I see that you cannot return the cup, so bring yours if you have no plans to buy one.
Keep in mind that there are problems with parking on location, so better take the train.
