Best places to visit

Bad Kreuznach is a town in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It does not lie within any Verbandsgemeinde, even though it is the seat of the like-named Verbandsgemeinde. Bad Kreuznach is a spa town and the seat of several courts as well as federal and state authorities. Bad Kreuznach is also officially a große kreisangehörige Stadt (large town belonging to a district), meaning that it does not have the district-level powers that kreisfreie Städte (district-free towns/cities) enjoy. It is, nonetheless, the district seat, and also the seat of the state chamber of commerce for Rhineland-Palatinate. It is classed as a middle centre with some functions of an upper centre, making it the administrative, cultural and economic hub of a region with more than 150,000 inhabitants. Moreover, the town and the surrounding areas are renowned both nationally and internationally for their wines, especially from the Riesling, Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau grape varieties.

Population in 2013: 48,229 (870/km2 or 2,200/sq mi)
Area: 55.63 km2 (21.48 sq mi)

North Korea is (by a long shot) the world's most interesting country. I visited the capital city of Pyongyang in April 2017, way back when I first got my hands on a video camera, and luckily I was able to document it. It was a wild trip, to say the least, and I'm glad that I can share my experiences with you in this video.

Buckle up for the next 9 minutes as I take you deep inside Pyongyang, North Korea to see how many things I could buy for $10 USD or less -- I think you will be quite surprised!

It's one of the most unbelievable features of mankind that I've ever seen anywhere on this planet.

WHAT TO DO IN SAALE-UNSTRUT in 60 seconds

Looking for a true insider tip off the beaten path, in the heart of Germany? Look no further. We show you the highlights of the stunning region Saale-Unstrut in 60 seconds.
In times when Tim and I can’t travel that far, we cherished our trip through a hidden gem of our home country.

///// 60seconds.travel. We travel the world. In 60 seconds./////

Saving time since 2016. Also on Instagram and Facebook.

It went all too fast? You want the details? No problem.
Here are our recommendations in order of appearance:

00:00 Lookout Zscheiplitz
This is one of the best places to look over the lush “region of wine and stone”, and to get why it’s called that way. Another brilliant lookout is the Berggaststätte Himmelreich in Naumburg.

00:08 Herzoglicher Weinberg, Freyburg
The most picturesque vineyard of Freyburg. They offer informative wine tours, including wine tasting of course! Which is our favourite part. More:

00:10 Saale underneath the Rudelsburg
A pristine river, the ancient Rudelsburg castle in the background and herons guiding your way: Canoeing on the Saale river was an unexpectedly spectacular tour!

00:12 Sailing Geiseltalsee
The best way to explore the Geiseltalsee! They let us sail ourselves. We nearly drowned (so we thought), but it was actually safe and a big blast!

00:15 3D Archery Course, Camburg
There’s even a course through the woods where you can shoot wooden animal figures. We found it a bit too ghoulish, so we opted for the normal targets. Shooting an arrow is still oddly satisfying! More:

00:18 Merseburg Cathedral, Merseburg
Less known than the Naumburg Cathedral, this one houses one of the biggest romanic organs in Germany. Famous Franz Liszt rewrote a piece of his just for its inauguration.

00:20 Graduation House, Bad Sulza
This is actually a “nebulizer hall”, and part of a larger complex. Walking through it and breathing the air enriched by evaporated salt takes you right to the beach. Well, nearly.

00:23 The Bonbonman, Zeitz
The candy man knows his craft. And we know we gained some kilos that day. It’s good stuff. You can even arrange courses to make the candy yourself! More:

00:26 Champagne Winery Rotkäppchen, Freyburg
The most famous sparkling wine producer of Germany has a fascinating history and a badass 120K litre wine barrel. If you ever wanted to open a bottle of bubbles with a sword, go!

00:29 Saale Bicycle Route from Jena to Wettin
Truly a beautiful route for sporty nature lovers that like to explore the region on two wheels.

00:32 Graduation Tower, Bad Dürrenberg
The mineral-rich water droplets in the air that this structure produces are regarded as healthy. It looks like a wall of dripping corals and must be the weirdest thing we saw on our trip.

00:34 Modellbahn Wiehe, Roßleben-Wiehe
What a massive model railroad! There are multiple halls and hundreds of trains running from Thuringia up to the USA. We instantly became kids again.

00:37 Nebra Ark, Nebra
A very instagrammy museum dedicated to the famous Nebra sky disc that was discovered in this area. A nearby tower offers some great views as well.

00:41 Briquetting Plant Herrmannschacht, Zeitz
The region used to be big in the coal business. Nowadays they offer tours where you can marvel at big old machines and even make your own minerals!

00:43 Monastery Memleben, Memleben
The minster ruin is certainly the most photogenic part, but it also features a fun interactive museum where you can check out which fraternity would have been your “monk business”.

00:45 Naumburg Cathedral, Naumburg
Cathedral buffs: this is your best pick of the region! And apparently Uta was the fittest of them all, back then. Writer Umberto Ecco once said he would have loved to date her.

00:50 Neu-Augustusburg Castle, Weißenfels
A grey and white castle? Yep. They ran out of money during renovation. No joke. But very pretty.

00:52 Summer Tobbogan Run, Weißenfels
Again, we instantly became kids again. Watch out for the water spitting flower! More:

00:55 Mondsee, Hohenmölsen
A pretty little lake with a camping ground next to it, and a big red slide that was unfortunately out of service at the time we went. Still: A very chilled out place!

00:57 Weingut Pawis, Freyburg
One of the best winerys of the region that we visited. Also features great food and hospitality.

00:59 Geiseltalsee, Marina Mücheln
Who knew you could have a floating BBQ? Well, it’s actually the best of two worlds combined! And we could use our fresh coal which was handy.

01:04 Camping Barrels, Mücheln
Evert wanted to know how wine feels like while it ripens? Go sleep in these ones! We found it to be a very cosy experience. Cheers! More:

Welcome to Jahra, Kuwait - the city with the hottest ever recorded temperature on earth!

I went to Kuwait a few months ago, on the exact hottest day of the year, so I could see what life is like in the brutal heat!! How on earth can people survive and do their daily activities when it’s 55 degrees Celsius, or 140 degrees Fahrenheit outside? How can they eat? Sleep? Pray? Enjoy life?

I met up with my local friend, Sulaiman, and together we went on an adventure of a lifetime, from the urban city life to deep inside the desert on the Saudi border.

This is my favorite video of the year so far, and I hope you enjoy!!

01:27:41 Verabschiedung
