Bad Hofgastein ist eine Marktgemeinde im Bezirk St. Johann im Pongau, im Land Salzburg in Österreich. Sie ist eine Kur-, Sommer- und Wintersportgemeinde.
Die Geschichte Bad Hofgasteins reicht in die Römerzeit zurück, denn dieser Ort war das Zentrum des Silber- und Goldabbaus am Radhausberg, im Angertal und im Pochkar. Bad Hofgastein liegt an der breitesten Stelle des Tals, weshalb die Siedlung auch zum Hauptort Gasteins wurde. Hier befand sich die erste Pfarre des Tals und der Gerichtssitz (Gerichtshof) der Region Gastein. So erhielt die Ortschaft die Bezeichnung Hof in der Gasstein, später wurde daraus Hofgastein.

Schlossalm - Stubnerkogel
The biggest resort in Gastein valley, Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel (860m - 2.300m alt) is ideal for a family ski trip. Slopes for all levels, practice ground for beginners and lots of huts to stop are waiting for you.
Downhill runs with over l,000m difference in altitude promise varied piste fun – perfectly connected with modern lifts and cable cars. Ideal for skiing pleasure! We would recommend the practice area, Gasti Snowpark, in the skiing centre in the Angertal Valley for beginners. For experienced skiers who are looking for a challenge, the Hohe Scharte Nord (descent H1 + H2 + H2a in the piste map) is very well suited. With a total length of 10.4 km and a height difference of 1,457 m, it is the longest valley run in Salzburgerland, where you can directly collect some kilometers of slopes. And not only once.
Those who would like to enjoy a few fascinating views off the piste in between, should definitely make a detour to the suspension bridge or the viewing platform Glocknerblick!
The Gastein valley offers four attractive ski resorts with a wide range of blue, red and black slopes. Therefore, everyone might easily find perfect slopes in order to collect lots of kilometres during the skiing holidays.

Alpentherme Bad Hofgastein, Austria
In this video I will take you to a village in Salzburgerland called Bad Hofgastein. It is a village sorrounded by the Austrian Alps. It has the Schlossalm cable car (which unfortunately I did not show here ), a small town full of shops and restaurants, and the Alpentherme which is one of the best thermal water in Salzburgerland.
