Eine Sommerrodelbahn in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern nahe der Ostsee? Ja, in Bad Doberan gibt es eine Rodelbahn. Mit einer Gesamtlänge von 721 m und einer Abfahrt von 521 m sowie einem Höhenunterschied von 40 m rauschst du mit einem Kribbeln im Bauch ins Tal der Stülower Berge am Stadtrand von Bad Doberan.
Als ich am vergangenen Wochenende in Rostock gewesen bin, war es dann endlich soweit: Am Nachmittag ging es für mich in das rund 10km entfernte Bad Doberan. Ziel war die Sommerrodelbahn.
Neben dem Doberaner Münster, der Bäderbahn Molli und Heiligendamm, Deutschlands ältestem Seebadeort, zählt die Doberaner Sommerrodelbahn auf jeden Fall auch zu einem der Highlights der Stadt und bietet einmaligen Fahrspaß für die ganze Familie.
Nahezu ganzjährig und auch bei Regen kannst du die Sommerrodelbahn in Bad Doberan besuchen und den Berg hinab rodeln. Allerdings macht es etwas mehr Spaß, wenn es nicht regnet. Von meinen 6 Fahrten mit der Doberaner Sommerrodelbahn hatte es bei der letzten Fahrt angefangen zu regnen. Die Fahrt mit dem Schlitten den Berg hinab bei leichtem Regen war ok, aber ich war froh, dass keine Fahrten mehr übrig waren.
Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt bei der Sommerrodelbahn. Vor allem, wenn du dich für Mehrfachfahrkarten entscheidest. Je mehr Fahrten du kaufst, desto günstiger wird jede Einzelfahrt. Erwachsene zahlen beispielsweise 12,- € für 6 Fahrten und 35,- € für 20 Fahrten.

Rostock is a city straddling the Warnow River on the north coast of Germany. It’s known for Rostock University, founded in 1419. Rostock Botanical Garden has an arboretum and alpine gardens. In the old town, the Gothic St. Mary’s Church features a 15th-century astronomical clock. Nearby is the cobblestone Neuer Markt main square and Rathaus (town hall), which mixes Gothic and baroque styles.
Rostock is the largest city in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, though not its capital. It is a hub for Baltic Sea ferries, Germany's largest port for cruise ships by number of boardings and pleasant enough for a longer stay mostly due to its Hanseatic heritage. Rostock is near the Baltic Sea and to protect its fishing and access rights it annexed Warnemünde (named for being the mouth of the river Warnow), a port area to the north. Rostock was an important member of the Hanseatic League as well as one of the most important ports of the GDR (East Germany). Until the collapse of the East German economy in 1989/90 Rostock was a major center for shipbuilding and a few shipyards still remain, despite their economic woes.
The pick of Rostock’s churches is Marienkirche, an archetypal North German Brick Gothic church, which hasn’t changed much since the 14th century. The oldest of Rostock’s three churches goes back to 1252 and was rebuilt in the Brick Gothic style around the 1350s. Petrikirche is on the high left bank of the Warnow just before it broadens into the Unterwarnow estuary.
On either side of the Warnow Estuary, the perennial Blue Flag-winning Warnemünde Beach is 15 kilometres long and widens to 100 metres at points. The beach shelves low, so is safe for children, and there are two wide sections monitored by lifeguards in summer: Warnemünde Hauptstrand and Markgrafenheide on the other side of the Warnow.
In Warnemünde’s harbour, the Alter Strom is a channel dug as long ago as 1423. For more than five centuries this was the main channel linking Rostock’s port with the Baltic, until the Neuer Strom was dredged in 1903. On the west side of the Alter Strom is a promenade edged with charming old fishermen’s houses that are now shops and restaurants.
On the left side of the Warnow Estuary, the Warnemünde Lighthouse is just under30 metres high and has been here since 1898. Built with white-glazed bricks, the tower is the main landmark in the resort and has wrought iron railings on its platforms.
Rostock’s defensive walls were first raised in the 1100s and were then adapted for gunpowder in the 16th and 17th centuries. The Gothic Monastery of the Holy Cross housed Rostock’s cultural history museum since 1984. As an institution the museum is far older, dating back to 1859 and is seen as one of the foremost museums in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Moored on the Unterwarnow on halfway between Rostock and Warnemünde is the Dresden, a “Typ IV”, 10,000 ton freighter. The Neuer Markt didn’t escape the bombing in 1942, but most of the east side of the square is original, and the same goes for some of the north and the town hall, which we’ll visit next. To look at Rostock’s arcaded town hall on Neuer Markt you wouldn’t know that the building is as old as the square itself, going all the way back to the 13th century.
You’ll be in no doubt that you’re in a Hanseatic city when you step onto Rostock’s waterfront at the Stadthafen. The Stadthafen is taken over by Hanse Sail, a maritime even in mid-August when some 250 tall ships and other traditional vessels dock in the city. In 56 hectares and hosting more than 4,000 animals, the acclaimed Rostock Zoo is the largest on Germany’s Baltic Sea coast.
A couple of streets north of the walls is the triangular Universitätsplatz, which like Neuer Markt is in Rostock’s pedestrian zone. A few minutes west of the centre of Rostock is the town of Bad Doberan, which, as well as boasting a stunning Brick Gothic minster, is the eastern terminus for a narrow gauge railway from the 1880s.

Zwischen Kornhaus & Besucherzentrum - Klosteranlage Bad Doberan
Seit geraumer Zeit gibt es in Bad Doberan, direkt neben dem Torhaus, ein neues Besucherzentrum. Die Schuppen, Garagen und Lager der Stadtwirtschaft Bad Doberan haben diesen historischen Ort, den Marstall, verlassen.
Mit dem Marstall ist ein weiteres Gebäude im Klosterareal saniert.
Das Amtshaus bekam schon vor einigen Jahren eine aufwendige Sanierung. Nun ist ein Ensemble entstanden, dass dieser Anlage neuen Auftrieb gibt. Als Nächstes steht die Sanierung des Wirtschaftshauses an, dass seit 1979, nach einem Brand, nur noch als Skelett mit seinen Dimensionen begeistert.

Bad Doberan is situated just 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) west of Rostock's city centre and is therefore part of one of the most developed regions in the north-eastern part of Germany. The town nestles between beautiful beech tree forests just 6 km from the Baltic Sea and is one of the earliest German settlements in Mecklenburg. Today the town is a very popular bathing resort, thanks to Heiligendamm, a district of Bad Doberan situated directly at the cliff line of the Baltic. Historically, Doberan used to be the summer residence for the Mecklenburg Dukes who resided in Schwerin, and for their entourage.

It also gained ownership of former railway assets in West Berlin held by the Verwaltung des ehemaligen Reichsbahnvermögens (Administration of the Former Reichsbahn Assets).

ドイツの[バート・ドベラーン]と[キュールングスボルン西]を結んでいる【メックレンブルク温泉鉄道モリー(Mecklenburgische Bäderbahn Molli)】です♪
Molli (Bad Doberan to Kühlungsborn steam railway)
This is a day spent on this 900mm-gauge ex-DR line in western Pomerania (now part of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state) on the Baltic coast of Germany. The line starts from an intermediate station on DB's Rostock-Wismar route, runs through the main street of Bad Doberan and then out through the country past Heiligendamm (main crossing point) to the seaside resort of Ostseebad Kühlungsborn which has three stations - Ost, Mitte and West. It is just a fraction under 9¾ miles in length. There is a small relics museum located at the terminus ( Kühlungsborn West).
Wandern an der Ostsee - Von Kühlungsborn nach Bad Doberan(2018, 4k)
Mit der Molli geht von Bad Doberan zum Ostbahnhof in Kühlungsborn wo die Wanderung startet und direkt zum Promenadensteg an der Ostsee führt. Danach geht es auf der Promenade zum Yachthafen und dann auf den Rad- und Wanderweg oberhalb der Strände entland zum Sanddornstrand(auch Haltestelle der Mollibahn). Von dort weiter und auf den Wanderweg E9 durch den Küstenwald zum Strand vor Heiligendamm und weiter zum Promenadensteg. Dann entlang des mehr als 6 km langen Sandstrandes zum Parkplatz P3. Von dort und über das Jagdhaus zur Rennbahn und weiter auf die 1,8 km lange Lindenallee nach Bad Doberan. Am Ehm-Welk-Haus vorbei zum kleinen Kurpark mit seinen zwei Pavillons. Von dort vorbei am alten Gymnasium und der alten Post zum Bahnhof der Mollibahn. Die Wanderung dieser reizvollen Strecke an der Ostseeküste entland ist ca. 18 km lang und dauerte ca, 4 Std.. Dabei kann man mehrmals die Dampflok der Mollibahn bewundern, die schnaubend und rauchend nach oder von Kühlungsborn unterwegs ist.
