Vikramshila University was established by King Dharmpala in between 8th and 9th century. The University is located in Antichak village which is about 38 kilometres away from Bhagalpur and 13 kilometres North-East of Kahalgaon (a railway station on Bhagalpur-Sahebganj section of Eastern Railways).

पर्यटकों को लुभा रहा संचालक का कहना है कि अभी शुरूआती दौर में रोजाना दो सौ से अधिक लोग नौका विहार कर रहे हैं। साथ ही डैम के पास लोगों का दिनभर आना जाना लगा रहता है। शाम के समय ज्यादा लोग डैम का मजा लेने पहुंचते हैं। एक दर्जन युवाओं को मिला रोजगार ओढ़नी डैम को विकसित करने से वर्तमान समय में आसपास के गांव के करीब एक दर्जन युवकों को रोजगार मिल गया है। नौका विहार में स्थानीय युवकों को ही रोजगार दिया गया जिससे वे गांव के पास ही अपनी कमाई कर रहें हैं। इससे उन्हें रोजगार के लिए कहीं जाना नहीं पड़ता है। डैम के पास पुलिस की है पैनी नजर ओढ़नी डैम के पास खासकर गलत लोगों पर पुलिस की पैनी नजर है। दो दिनों पूर्व कुछ युवक नशा की हालात में डैम पर हंगामा कर रहे थे। पुलिस ने तुरंत एक्शन लिया तथा दो युवकों को पकड़कर जेल भेज दिया। कोट: ओढ़नी डैम को पर्यटन स्थल के रूप में विकसित करने का काम चल रहा है। जल्द ही डैम पर कैंटिन, पार्किंग, एडवेंचर स्पोर्टस आदि की व्यवस्था भी की जा रही है। लोगों को भयमुक्त होकर इस पर्यटन स्थल का मनोरंजन करना चाहिए। बांका के ओढ़नी डैम का आकर्षक नजारा व डैम पर मनोरंजन करते लोग
