Guelta d'Archei | Amazing lake in Sahara Desert
Guelta d'Archei amazing place in the heart of the Sahara Desert, It is located in the Ennedi Plateau, It is located in the Ennedi Plateau, in north-eastern Chad, south-east of the town of Fada. The Guelta d'Archei is inhabited by several kinds of animals, most notably the Nile crocodile, one of the last palace where Nile crocodiles are found in Sahara. The Middle Holocene remains, as well as rock paintings, indicate that this species once thrived across most of today's Sahara Desert and in swamps and rivers along South Mediterranean shores. The small group of surviving crocodiles in the Guelta d'Archei represent one of the last colonies know in the Sahara today; the Tagant Plateau colony in Mauritania has likely been extinct since 1996. The word Guelta means wetland, The reservoirs of this wetland is supported by groundwater. Guelta d'Arshey is surrounded by extensive desert areas, which make access to this awesome place.
Guelta Archei is a watering place for camels located in the Ennedi plateau. The guelta is also inhabited by a very small number ( between 1 and 7 there are only estimations) of the Nile crocodile. This is one of the last colonies of crocodiles in the Sahara. There is another colony in Mauritania. You can see the crocodile on the right edge
The Guelta d'Archei is the most famous permanent water source in the Ennedi region of Chad. Everyday, hundreds of camels are herded into the guelta in order to drink. That particular morning, one of the herdsmen was claiming that 850 of them were at once in the guelta. The value of a camel ranges between 250 EUR up to 800 EUR (and more). They are mainly raised for the milk they produce and as transport animals (not for the meat).

Welcome to our amazing adventure! In this video, we'll be joining our hero Xavier Rosset on a real-life Robinson Crusoe adventure - 300 days alone on Tofua, a remote island of the Tonga in the Pacific Ocean.
We'll follow our hero as he embarks on a daring journey of exploration, discovery, and self-reliance. He'll be completely isolated from civilization, and must use his wits and skills to survive.
We'll start by watching him build a shelter, and gathering food and supplies. Then he'll have to figure out how to catch fish and hunt animals. He'll also need to make improvised tools, and explore the island.
And we'll watch as he adjusts to life on the island; dealing with storms, loneliness, and the possibility of never being rescued. We'll see how he copes with the mental and physical struggles of living alone in the wild.
It's a remarkable story of courage and determination, a true psychological story between solitude and loneliness and hopefully it will inspire others to try their own outdoor adventures. Join us now for this amazing Robinson Crusoe adventure!

The Lost Roads and Salt Flats of Salinas Grande (S3:E55)
Departing Abra del Acay, Chad and Rose retreat to the remote and arsenic-rich San Antonio de los Cobres for the night. Attempting to ride the World's 3rd largest Salt Flats the next morning, they become ensnared in a confusing network of unofficial detours and dead-end tracks. Stuck between the modern Highway 79, remnants of the original Ruta-40, and a number of abandoned local roads, they become hopelessly disoriented.
With the help of a local, they finally make their way back to the highway, where a chance encounter with a local guide finds them deep within the Salinas Grande basin.

Today we want to show you another great city of North Italy, Padua (Padova). Is sits between it's popular Veneto sister cities, Venice and Verona, so many people don't even know that Padova is a great option and a treasure of a city to visit. Not only is it one of the oldest cities in Italy, it has some of the biggest, oldests records. One of which is the Padova University, one of the oldest in the world, oldest botanic garden in the world, largest plaza in Italy, plus many more wonderful things.
In today's video we want to give you peak at Padova and what you expect when you visit this city, which is very underrated!
1. **Historical Significance**: Padua is one of the oldest cities in Italy, with origins tracing back to the Padovans in 1183 BC.
2. **University of Padua**: Founded in 1222, it's the second-oldest university in Italy and was where Galileo Galilei lectured.
3. **Scrovegni Chapel**: Houses Giotto's frescoes, considered to be a masterpiece of Western art.
4. **Prato della Valle**: Italy's largest square, featuring a central island surrounded by a moat and statues of notable individuals.
5. **Basilica of Saint Anthony**: A pilgrimage site for people from all over the world, containing the tomb of Saint Anthony of Padua.
6. **Botanical Garden**: The world's oldest academic botanical garden, established in 1545, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Shadian is only 1 hour away from Jianshui, and it inhabits 100 percent Hui minorities.
Shadian mosque is said to be the biggest mosque in south-eastern China, and it is quite impressive. Coming back from Shadian, I visited the halal night market in Jianshui.

Boise Idaho's Best Whitewater Rafting Day Trip
And you thought Boise only had one river to play on. So maybe the Payette River isn't actually in Boise but it sure is close. Less than an hour away the Payette River makes for a great day trip. Drive up highway 55 and find yourself a nice beach to relax at. We'll show you a prime spot with a pretty white beach, picnic tables, and a rope swing. We'll give you an idea for a lesser known spot, then head up to Banks and have a beverage at the cafe.
But really, the thing to do when you head to banks is raft or kayak. The Payette River is a kayakers mecca, and has tons of great rafting sections. We meet up with Cascade Raft & Kayak to show us a float down the Upper Main Payette, from Banks to Beehive Bend. Learn how to plan your own rafting trip down the Payette River on this episode of The Adventures of Jon & Chad.
