Taormina - The Most Beautiful Town in Sicily? Exploring the Hilltop Paradise in Italy

What can we say? Taormina LIVES up to the HYPE! An exquisite hilltop town with a magical atmosphere, it sits on the east coast of Sicily near Mount Etna, Europe's most active volcano. Just a stone's throw away from the Strait dividing Sicily from the Italian Peninsula, it is a town known for its ancient Greco-Roman theater still used today, beautifully restored medieval buildings, breathtaking views around every corner, and a weaving network of winding streets strewn with shops, bars and restaurants.

Could it possibly be the most beautiful town in Sicily? In this episode, we stroll through the gorgeous park of Villa Comunale and showcase its breathtaking views, visit the 2nd largest Greek theatre in Sicily, find pistachio and granita heaven at Bam Bar, and wade through the water on a narrow stretch of sand to reach Isola Bella - a tiny island and nature reserve… all while eating our fair share of paninis!

Taormina is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the world, and the mild Sicilian climate makes it an ideal destination any time of the year for a walking tour!

ONE DAY IN SYRACUSE (ITALY) | 4K 60FPS | A UNESCO World Heritage Site on the East Coast of Sicily

Known as the Pearl of the Greeks, Syracuse (Italian: Siracusa) lies on the east coast of Sicily and, as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, fascinates with its cultural diversity from 2,700 years of history. In antiquity, Syracuse was one of the most powerful and glamorous metropolises in the Mediterranean world; today, with 123,000 inhabitants, it is a lively provincial city.

The fantastic location in the south-east of Sicily with the offshore island of Ortygia and the numerous sights and ancient excavations from thousands of years of history make Syracuse a special Sicilian attraction. The most important sights are located on Ortygia and form a picturesque ambience amidst Greek, Roman and Baroque architecture - a very worth seeing and unique mixture of different eras.

In my video, I have focused on the urban area and in particular on the wonderful old town centre on the island of Ortygia. Those who know me and my videos know that I am very enthusiastic about old towns. And here, too, I was very fascinated by the old town and the atmosphere. I am happy if I can transfer a little of this fascination and enthusiasm to you when you watch my video.

I hope you will enjoy watching. I would be happy if you give my video a like, leave me a comment and subscribe my channel for further videos. All your feedback helps me a lot, and I can promise you to show all my passion in my upcoming videos as well. Thanks in advance for your support and a big hug!

Florence in August! Walking the Streets during Ferragosto Weekend in Italy ????????

Visiting Florence in August is different to visiting any other month, and today we are showing you why! We walk through the streets of Florence during Ferragosto weekend to find out just how packed the city is during the busiest Italian public holiday of the year! We share why Italy and the month of August have a relationship dating back to the 1st century BC with the creation of Ferragosto, as well as what you can expect with your visit. And we stop in for some delicious gelato at Gelateria dei Neri :)

Ferragosto is a public holiday celebrated on 15 August in all of Italy. It originates from the festival of emperor Augustus, who made the 1st of August a day of rest after weeks of hard work in the agricultural sector. As the festivity was created for political reasons, the Catholic Church decided to move the festivity to the 15th of August as it is the Assumption of Mary.

Sicily in August? Visiting Cefalu during Ferragosto in Italy!

In this episode, we brave the city of Cefalu during Ferragosto! It is the busiest Italian public holiday of the year, as is the whole month of August in Sicily! We compare the beaches and a few other spots we visited back in June, as well as take note of other changes you can expect from one of Sicily’s most popular coastal cities during this time!
