Gadsden is a city in and the county seat of Etowah County in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is located on the Coosa River about 56 miles (90 km) northeast of Birmingham and 90 miles (140 km) southwest of Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is the primary city of the Gadsden Metropolitan Statistical Area, which has a population of 103,931. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 33,945. In the 19th century, Gadsden was Alabama's second-most important center of commerce and industry, trailing only the seaport of Mobile. The two cities were important shipping centers: Gadsden for riverboats and Mobile for international trade.
From the late 19th century through the 1980s, Gadsden was a center of heavy industry, including the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Republic Steel. In 1991, following more than a decade of sharp decline in industry, Gadsden was awarded the honor of All-America City by the National Civic League.

Interstate 759 (I-759) is a part of the Interstate Highway System in the US state of Alabama. It is a spur route that runs for 4.54 miles (7.31 km) between the cities of Attalla and Gadsden in Etowah County. It begins at I-59 in Attalla and ends at U.S. Route 411 (US 411) in southern Gadsden adjacent to the Gadsden Mall. The route continues east as the at-grade thoroughfare State Route 759 (SR 759) until the route ends at SR 291 in Gadsden.
I-759 begins at exit 182 of I-59 in Attalla. From this point, the route travels in an easterly direction across a marshy area prior to reaching its first exit at Black Creek Parkway, a diamond interchange. From the Black Creek exit, I-759 continues in its easterly direction and crosses the Coosa River along a causeway and short bridge prior to reaching US 411. At the US 411 interchange, the I-759 designation ends, but the route continues as SR 759 in spanning the Coosa River.

I have a 22 ft 1999 Coachmen Starflyte built on a Ford chassis
It was promoted as a Class B+ but technically that class doesn't exist so she's part Class B and part Class C.
Coachmen only made it 3 years and then sold the plan to Dynamax
The battery was still charged after 12 years
The tires still had plenty of tread but were dry rotted
She was parked for 7 years without being drivable but with a new fuel pump and a lot of love she was back on the road
She only had 30,000 original miles
I’ve always wanted to travel but life and marriage circumstances made that impossible. After 25 years, I have divorced and am living my dream of traveling and renovating my little RV.

* We flew from Tennessee to Alaska. (I couldn't get my passport in time to drive it.)
* We took the RV to Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, flew to Nevada, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and back to Tennessee.
* We put 7000 miles on the motorhome.
* We stayed in lots of campgrounds, several KOAs and Harvest Hosts, and only boondocked once
* We’re not always in the RV. We like to stay in exotic locations too. Check out my video on staying in a Yurt, Treehouse, Tiny house and The Venetian
We had general direction but no reservations, tickets, campground spots or timeline. I knew when we had to be back home but other than that we “wandered” across the US.

Road Trip #345 - I-59 North - Alabama Mile 156-181 - Gadsden
We continue north on I-59 beginning at Mile 156 in St. Clair County, Alabama, and then throught he towns of Ashville and Steele. We reach Etowah County and pass through Rainbow City and Attalla, before exiting at Exit 181 to spend the night in Gadsden. This was the last video of August 31. In our next video, we'll resume with video from September 1.
