8 Reasons Why Americans LEAVE Costa Rica [Why I Left]

The TRUTH about living in Costa Rica: Why do so many Americans leave Costa Rica after moving there? In this video, I explain what causes expats to change their minds about retiring abroad and why I left Costa Rica after 8 years. Some of the initial reasons that people want to move to Costa Rica include the moderate climate, laid back lifestyle, fresh and healthy food, friendly people, beaches, medical tourism, and the low cost of living. But is Costa Rica really a safe and friendly country or is it actually dangerous and expensive? Once they arrive, many people realize that living in Costa Rica wasn't quite what they expected. Unfortunately, that results in people returning home quite soon after arriving.

After helping more than 500 foreigners move to Costa Rica and living there for eight years, this video explains the top reasons why people move back to the USA and why I left, too, so that you know more about what to expect BEFORE you get there. This is the real and sometimes dark truth about living in Costa Rica. What do you think are the biggest pros and cons of living in Costa Rica? Let us know in the comments.

48 Hours in Jacó, Costa Rica | Hidden Gems Locals Know and You Don't!

If you're visiting Jacó, Costa Rica, be sure to check out this travel guide. Jacó is a small, party, beach town on the southern, Pacific coast of Costa Rica. BUT, there are plenty of family friendly activities and hidden gems only the locals know of (and now you after you watch this video) that are off the typical tourist path.

We want to give a special thanks to Sony for sponsoring this video. Throughout the video, we share why we love our ECM-B10 microphone, which is a key ingredient for good storytelling when it comes to making our YouTube videos. You can purchase your own ECM-B10 by click this link:

Here are our favourite features of the ECM-B10:

• 3-directional pickup patterns: super-directional (great for selfie style filming), unidirectional (perfect for multi-person interviews) and omnidirectional (records from all directions).

• In-body digital conversion which helps to reduce noise inside the camera.

• It's Cable-free (just plugs right into the hot shoe)!

• Highly efficient noise cut filter to reduce ambient noises such as wind, rain, or annoying background sounds.

Costa Rica Missions Trip - (International Travel, Atenas and Jaco, Costa Rica)

Join Easy Dream Adventures as we travel into God's creation with a missions team from Lakeland Community Church. In this video we are headed to Atenas, Costa Rica to serve at Hogar De Vida. The home is where abandoned, neglected, and physically abused children from 2-10 years old find safe haven in our transitional Hogar De Vida. Housing up to 35 children, they parent, clothe, feed, educate, and give them the chance to know Jesus. The children have access to a paid psychologist, a nutritionist, a nurse, early childhood caregivers, a teacher, a maintenance staff, and an administrative staff. Throughout the year, teams from around the world visit Hogar De Vida to provide support in many ways. On our trip, we helped with the landscaping, did some painting, general cleaning as well as spending time with the children sharing our love and most importantly the Love of Christ and our faith in God. During our trip, we enjoyed the local culture attending a Sunday Worship service at a local church. We also enjoyed the local food dishes and fruits. Mid-week we headed to the city of Jaco on the Pacific Ocean. The small Costa Rican town and beach lures surfers, beach lovers, party goers and those who seek a swim/surf/shopping/nightlife combination. Playa Jaco is the closest beach to San Jose in the province of Puntarenas. It has an incredible choice of restaurants, hotels, lounges and clubs, and some of the greatest waves in the country. Near Jaco, you can find other popular Costa Rican beaches including Playa Hermosa and Herradura, and you can enjoy tours like ATV, horseback riding and more! Members of our team enjoyed a zip line excursion while we were in Jaco, as well as shopping, beach combing, horse back riding, boogie board surfing, and just enjoying time in the pool at the Selina Jaco resort.
