Ein mysteriöser Ort im Südosten Kasachstans: Der versunkene Wald im Kaindy-See: in den Bergen in der Provinz Almaty. Der See ist berühmt geworden durch seine bizarren, kahlen Baumstämme, die aus dem Wasser herausragen. Er See bildete sich, nachdem ein Erdrutsch nach einem Erdbeben 1911 einen natürlichen Damm geschaffen hatte. Der Wald wurde überflutet, aber Dutzende Bäume überdauern bis heute im Wasser.
