Kyrgyzstan in a week

This video tells the story of the 7-day trip we took through northeast Kyrgyzstan.

When I told my friends that I had planned a trip to Kyrgyzstan, the most common answer was Kyrgyz what?
And I repeated Kyrgyzstan!

Our travel plan was based on the experience of our dear guide and friend, Aman from the company Kyrgyz Riders, who I strongly advise if you want to travel to this country.

Located in Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan is bordered by Kazakhstan to the northwest and north, by China to the east and south, and by Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to the south and west. Most of Kyrgyzstan's borders run along mountain crests. Formerly a constituent republic of the U.S.S.R., Kyrgyzstan declared its independence on August 31, 1991. The capital is Bishkek.

Kyrgyzstan is an amazing, uncommon travel destination. With an incredible display of rivers, waterfalls, and nearly 2,000 lakes, its beautiful mountainous landscape has provided the setting for over 2,000 years of history. We spent 10 days in Kyrgyzstan and explored many of its most famous places.

So our travel plan was to explore the following places in 7 days: Jalgyz-Karagay pass, Song-Kol lake, Tash-Rabat, Chatyr-Kol Lake, Kel-Suu lake, KochKor Village, Eagle Hunting Experience, The Skazka Canyon, Jetty-Oguz red mountains, Karakol village, and Grigorievka gorge.

Kyrgystan: At-Bashy region part 2. At-Bashi village

It is located to the right of the At-Bashi River, near the mouth of the Kara-Koyun River, at an altitude of 2060 m above sea level. Located 29 km from the village. Kulanak and 226 km from the railway station of the city of Balykchy, the Bishkek-Torugart highway is temporarily operating.

A monument to the border guards was erected. On the territory of a rural settlement on the Bishkek-Kashkar trade route is the Tash-Rabat caravanserai. In the At-Bashi area are the ruins of the ancient fortification Koshoy-Korgon, to the west - the village of Chech-Debe, broom and poplar. At one time, the Great Silk Road passed along At-Bashi.

10 Wacky Things About TURKMENISTAN

It's been a wild several days in Turkmenistan. In my opinion, this is (by a long shot) the world's most bizarre country.

In this video, I explain the 10 strangest things that I find about Turkmen culture -- from the thousands of white-marble buildings to the shockingly empty streets, a massive fire crater in the desert that hasn't stopped burning for 50 years, and the heavy censorship of the internet.

Turkmenistan is essentially the North Korea of Central Asia. Both the capital cities of Pyongyang and Ashgabat feel eerily similar when walking around. The only major difference is that the people of North Korea are oppressed, whereas the people of Turkmenistan seem to be warm, friendly, and hospitable.

Please share any thoughts/comments/questions about Turkmenistan and I'll be happy to answer!

Have you ever heard of ASHGABAT, TURKMENISTAN before? If not, then get ready to learn about how strange it is here in my 170th country.

I've spent the last 24 hours roaming around the capital city of Ashgabat, and IT REMINDS ME EXACTLY OF PYONGYANG, NORTH KOREA in just about every way possible. Huge fancy buildings with very few people inside perfectly manicured gardens and boulevards with nobody on them and this eerie feeling that someone is watching over my shoulder 24/7. TURKMENISTAN IS WEIRD.

People had told me that Ashgabat was strange, but I had no idea to what extent it was until arriving here.... Find out everything you need to know about Turkmenistan's capital in this video!

How many of you guys actually knew about this place? Would love to see a show of hands :)

ARA KOL LAKE ,BEST PLACE TO VISIT NEAR BISHKEK ????

Frozen lake of Ara-Kol is becoming very popular in Kyrgyzstan among tourists. Many tourist companies offer one-day trips to Ara-Kol.

The lake is situated in Kochkor region of Naryn Oblast, which is in the east of the country.

Actually, it was built in 1958 as water reservoir and later in 1985 it was increased. The only river flows into the lake. The water of the reservoir is used for irrigation.

Both in winter and summer time local people fish there.
In spite the fact that there is no snow in Kochkor region, its very windy and chilly and the water freezes.

Local people said that the ice thickness on Ara-Kol reaches 50-60 centimeters.

The water of the lake freezes in December and melts in February. This period of time is always holiday for locals, especially for children.

Kyrgyzstan ???????? Tash Rabat the caravanserai

Be amazed by these top places and experiences in Kyrgyzstan, and subscribe to the channel, to see more videos about wonderful destinations like this one at

On our amazing trip to Kyrgyzstan, visiting Tash-Rabat in At-Bashi District was one of our top picks.

On the day of the trip, we woke up early in our yurt at Song-Kul Lake camp, as we had about 6 hours of travel ahead of us.

Song-Kul Lake's farewell couldn't have been better. We still had the opportunity to enjoy scenes and landscapes that will stay on our retina for many years to come.

After a small incident with one of the Jeep's rear tires that broke but was quickly resolved by our friend and guide Aman, we continued the journey until lunchtime. The restaurant where we had lunch was very quirky and lively. And once again we had the opportunity to taste a delicious Laghman.

On that day, when we arrived in Tash Rabat, we went to rest in our hostel and enjoy a wonderful Sauna. All this with the caravanserai insight from 200 meters.

The next day, our guide Aman gave us a guided tour of the site, explaining some peculiarities of its construction and architecture. So let's go for a walk.
