Driving in Italy: Valpolicella (Verona) | 4K 60fps

Driving in Italy on the scenic wine route through Valpolicella (within the region of Verona). Beautiful countryside-scenery as we progress on narrow streets into the vineyards. Come join us on this scenic drive on a bright sunny day.

02:21 San Vito
03:19 Negrar di Valpolicella
08:24 Beginning of vine area of Valpolicella
18:07 Driving in between the vineyards
23:06 San Floriano

Our journey starts coming from Verona: We pass through Santa Maria (near Arbizzano) and follow the country road towards San Vito. After this tiny village we approach Negrar di Valpolicella, the last village before we get to the vineyards of Valpolicella: Our car works its way up the hills in winding roads - you can already anticipate the beautiful scenery, with the vines starting to pop-up next to the road.
As the road narrows further, we approach the vineyard area of Valpolicella. The small path guides us right through the fields: From olive trees to the delicious grapes, this scenic road is totally worth the travel. But keep in mind that bigger cars, such as RVs, might not be allowed on all the streets - because even with a small car you will have to stop and let oncoming traffic pass (as we also have to), due to the narrow roads.
Our scenic drive comes slowly to an end as we drive down the other hillside, and coming into San Floriano. Here the side-street joins the bigger SP4.

Strada Alzaia in Valpolicella

Its july 2022 and I have decided to go on a bikepacking trip across europe with a six speed brompton loaded with camping gear. Not knowing what to expect I chose Eurovelo 8 Mediterranean Route as my first long distance bike route, that should lead me along the breezy Mediterranean sea.

I hope you come with me on this bikepacking journey through one of the most beautiful bike routes in europe.

In this video, you will join me along on second day of eurovelo 8 bikepacking trip. I woke up on a random bike stop 25 km away from la la garda. Made my way there, enjoyed bautiful morning at the lake and then cycled along the coast to Peschiera, where I took train to Verona, to Venezia and finally to Trieste, where my eurovelo 8 bike trip officialy starts. I ended the day at some random beach near Monfalcone excited to bike first few kms of eurovelo 8 meditearrean route.

Verona is a city on the Adige River in Veneto, Italy. It is one of the seven provincial capitals of the region. It is the largest city municipality in the region and the second largest in northeastern Italy. It is one of the main tourist destinations in northern Italy because of its artistic heritage and several annual fairs and shows as well as the opera season in the Arena, an ancient Roman amphitheater.
