Location
1. The city of Dan was located in the northernmost part of Israel about 24 miles (38 km.) north of the Sea of Galilee.
2. It is a well-watered lush area superb for agriculture.
Historical Background
1. The tribe of Dan failed to take the original territory allotted them, so they captured and moved to this area (Judges 18).
2. When referring to all Israel, the phrase “From Dan to Beersheba” was commonly used.
1 Kings 4:25: Judah and Israel lived safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
3. Just after Solomon’s reign, the kingdom of Israel was divided because Solomon turned from the Lord and introduced the worship of false gods into the nation.
4. Rehoboam was given the southern 2 tribes of Israel (called Judah from this time forward), and Jeroboam received the northern 10 tribes of Israel (called Israel from this time forward).

The City of Dan in the Bible
1. God appeared to Jeroboam and promised to bless him if he would serve Him (1 Kings 11:38).
2. Jeroboam turned away from the Lord and built golden calves in Bethel and Dan (1 Kings 12:25-31).
3. After a severe warning from God, Jeroboam continued in sin. The worship of false gods would eventually seal the doom of the northern 10 tribes of Israel (1 Kings 13:33–34).
4. The sin of Jeroboam became a pattern that the rest of the kings of Israel would follow (1 Kings 15:33–34, 1 Kings 16:26).
5. In 722 BC, as judgment from God for their continual disobedience, the 10 northern tribes of Israel were deported by the Assyrian Empire.
6. Eighty years later, as a result of reading the Scriptures, Josiah became King of Judah and chose to follow God with all his heart. He led one of the biggest revivals Israel ever experienced (2 Kings 22:1–2, 2 Kings 23:25).
7. As a result of Josiah’s obedience, he renewed the covenant of the Lord with Israel and destroyed the golden calves Jeroboam had erected (2 Kings 23:15, 2 Kings 23:19).

Shocking Discovery at Ancient Temple in Israel
Residue of Cannabis was found at the altar of an ancient temple in the territory of Judah. The Temple was first dated to the time of King David and Solomon, however, upon further examination the archaeologists came to a different conclusion.

La location de voiture à l'aéroport de Tel-Aviv avec Hertz nous a coûté 540€ pour 10 jours...sans compter les nombreuses amendes, payez le parkmètre!
Je ne suis ni critique gastronomique, ni critique d'hotel mais voici l'endroit ou j'ai dormi ainsi que quelques restaurants que j'ai trouvé sympas en 2022:
D'abord Israël c'est super cher. Donc on a pas choisi le grand luxe.
A Tel Aviv on est rester au Marina Ben Gurion Hostel proche de la plage. On a testé des super bons sandwichs par chers chez Miznon ( )
A Jerusalem c'était dans un dortoir de 6 lits au HYVE Jerusalem hosted à 20 minutes de la porte de Jaffa. On a tester ces deux super restaurants: Hamrakia ( Koresh St 4, Jerusalem, Israël ) et Tmol Shilshom ( Q6J9+GW Jérusalem, Israël)
Pour la mer morte on est rester dans la ville ARAD (Je ne me souviens plus du nom de la maison d'hôte où on est resté, c'était écrit seulement en Hebreux) situé 20 minutes en voiture de la mer morte et proche d'une des entrées de la forteresse de Masada. On a testé ces restaurants/ bars branchés: Muza ( 7634+QX Arad, Israël ) // Pizza Kaparuchka ( ) et Sheeta Brewery ( 65XV+5V Arad, Israël)
A Eilat on est resté à Arava Hostel, un peu serré mais ça fait l'affaire. On a testé comme restaurant: pour un bon poisson le Fish Market ( GW7F+WW Eilat, Israël ); Mosh (Derekh Mitsrayim, Eilat, Israël) pour une ambiance baba cool sur la plage et Ginger asian kitchen (Derekh Yotam 3, Eilat, Israël)
A Nazareth on est rester à Daher Guest House. Bon prix avec petit déjeuner inclus mais évitez la chambre qui sent le rat mort. Des supers restaurants à Nazareth comme Tishreen restaurant ( Derech Ariel Sharon 41, Nof HaGalil, Israël )
Quelques astuces:
JERUSALEM
Pour accéder au mont des oliviers à Jérusalem, c'est faisable à pied depuis la porte des lions (lion's gate) par contre ça monte! Donc c'est peut-être plus simple de monter en bus/ taxi puis redescendre à pied.
Au dome du Rocher attention aux horaires. Ce n'est pas ouvert toute la journée et cela change au fil des saisons. Accessible depuis un ponton en bois à côté du mur des lamentations.
L'église du Saint-Sépulcre ferme à 18h.
FORTERESSE MASSADA.
Accessible d'un côté depuis Arad ou d'un autre côté proche de Ein Borek. De ce côte il y a le choix entre un téléférique ou le snake path pour les sportifs, ça monte! N'oubliez pas avant d'emprunter ces deux derniers de regarder la propagande, oups pardonnez-moi, la vidéo sur l'histoire de Massada. Il faut prévoir la demi journée car c'est assez vaste et surtout de l'eau, de la crème et une casquette parce que ça tape!
MER MORTE
N'essayer pas de la réanimer car elle est bien morte. Si vous chercher une plage pour se baigner, la petite station balnéaire Ein Borek est un bon choix.
Balader vous dans ce que j'appelle le desert lunaire au pied de la forteresse de Massada. Paysages impressionnant! On y a vu beaucoup de locaux (locos) y camper.
Ein Gedi est un parc naturel magnifique, par contre il ferme à 16h. On est arrivé à 15h donc on a pas pu aller au dessus de la cascade David dommage!
EILAT / MER ROUGE
Pas facile de trouver un spot non privatisé pour se baigner. Les options qu'on a trouvé: le bar baba cool mosh aux cocktails qui coûtent un bras ou vers le Coral Beach Club dont on a jamais trouvé l'entrée. Du coup on s'est posé sur les chaises d'un bar non loin de là au bord de l'eau.
A part la trempette, c'est aussi super de grimper le mont tzefarhot ( à vos souhait!). C'est une boucle de 3h à ne pas faire à midi en plein soleil...ce qu'on a fait évidemment. Rouge ecrevisse bonjour!
Au nord d'Eilat le parc national de Timna est super bien aménagé avec ses paysages spectaculaires digne d'un western. Par contre il faut absolument une voiture...ou bien un ami qui a une voiture.

Option 1: Wake up before dawn and drive 20 minutes to the western slopes of Massada. Ascend by foot as the sun rises to enjoy its full glory from the top of the Mountain.
Tour the fortress, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was a fabulous palace of Herod the Great, and became world-famous as the last Jewish stronghold during the great Jewish Revolt against Rome nearly 2,000 years ago.
Option 2: Drive from the Arad area to the eastern side of Massada (about one hour) and ascend the mountain via the Snake Path or the cable-car.
After touring Massada, drive north to Ein Gedi National Park for a hike through its lush oasis to a beautiful waterfall.
Spend the rest of the day at leisure at one of the spa hotels or country-style accommodations in the Dead Sea area.

Арад располагался на Ханаанской земле. Еврейский народ, под предводительством Моисея шли из Египта в Землю обетованную и Тель Арад встал на их пути. Народ Израиля столкнулся с активным сопротивлением ханаанских жителей и не смог его завоевать. Из за поражения путь еврейского народа изменился, стал гораздо длиннее они повернули на восток, пошли вокруг Мертвого моря к реке Иордан и к древнему городу Иерихон.
Второй период значимости Тель Арада говорит о присутствие иудеев. Крепость в верхнем городе была построена во времена объединенного Израильского царства в период с первого тысячелетия до н.э и до завоевания Вавилонской Империи.
Арадская крепость — это единственное место на всей территории бывшего Иудейского царства, в котором было обнаружено древнее святилище.
В то время иудейские власти решили создать единый религиозный центр и все жертвоприношения должны были совершаться только в Первом Иерусалимском Храме. Примерно в 7в до.н.э по указанию царя Иудеи приказали разрушить святилище. Но жители в Тель Арад ослушались и вместо уничтожения, засыпали песком и камнями. Именно этот факт позволил дойти светилещу до наших дней.
Древний иудейский Арад существовал приблизительно 350 лет. И оставил после себя несколько загадочных фактов, которые архиологи так и не смогли разгадать. В окрестностях Тель Арад не нашли остатки кладбища, как такое может быть, ведь город был давольно большой. И еще одно загадочное обстоятельство: по не понятным причинам ханаанское поселение было оставлено жителями примерно в 2500г. до н.э. Эти загадки до сих пор остаются без ответа.
