Het Loo Palace and its palace gardens are typical of the royal character of Apeldoorn. Construction of the palace starts in 1686 under regent William III. After his coronation as King of England, the palace functions primarily as a hunting lodge. It remains an important location for the Royal Family for centuries. Paleis Het Loo has a Dutch-classical garden with French influences (a subdivision trimmed with Japanese holly hedges ). It is a formal garden in the style of the 17th century Baroque echoing André le Nôtre 's Renaissance gardens such as at the Château de Versailles . From the balcony (accessible on Wednesdays) is a view of the garden. One side of the garden is the mirror image of the other. There are also several fountains in the garden of Het Loo palace that refer to figures from Roman and Greek mythology (such as Venus and Hercules fountains).

Paleis Het Loo is a 300 years old palace in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. The palace was a residence of the House of Orange-Nassau. Since 1984, the palace is a state museum open for the general public. Next to the beautiful palace are the absolutely stunning gardens. The best way is to see it from above. We took our drone for a birds eye view.
