MAP OF HAITI

greetings my friends. this is a map of Haiti. Haiti forms the western three-eighths of Hispaniola, the second largest island in the Greater Antilles. Haiti is the third largest country in the Caribbean. the Dominican Republic, shares a 360-kilometer border with Haiti. The country has a roughly horseshoe shape and because of this it has a disproportionately long coastline, at 1,771 km .

Haiti is the most mountainous nation in the Caribbean, its terrain consists of mountains interspersed with small coastal plains and river valleys. The climate is tropical, with some variation depending on altitude. The highest point is Pic la Selle, at 2,680 meters.

The northern region or Marien Region consists of the Massif du Nord and the Plaine du Nord. The Massif du Nord is an extension of the Cordillera Central in the Dominican Republic. It begins at Haiti's eastern border, north of the Guayamouc River, and extends to the northwest through the northern peninsula. The lowlands of the Plaine du Nord lie along the northern border with the Dominican Republic, between the Massif du Nord and the North Atlantic Ocean.

The central region or Artibonite Region consists of two plains and two sets of mountain ranges. The Plateau Central extends along both sides of the Guayamouc River, south of the Massif du Nord. It runs from the southeast to the northwest. To the southwest of the Plateau Central are the Montagnes Noires, whose most northwestern part merges with the Massif du Nord. Haiti's most important valley in terms of crops is the Plaine de l'Artibonite, which lies between the Montagnes Noires and the Chaîne des Matheux. This region supports the country's longest river, the Riviere l'Artibonite, which begins in the western region of the Dominican Republic and continues for most of its length through central Haiti, where it then empties into the Golfe de la Gonâve. Also in this valley lies Haiti's second largest lake, Lac de Péligre, formed as a result of the construction of the Péligre Dam in the mid-1950s. thats all. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.

#haiti #mapschool #mapsolo #cartemap #kartemap #mapamap #petamap #caribbean #caribe #caribean

Back-at-it-again.

In this episode, we are connecting again with Ingorcewa and visiting this time one of their near-complete residential projects.
This property sat on a very steep incline and was an architectural and construction challenge that Orcino Malivert and his team executed to perfection.
Come check out this incredible property and let us learn what is possible in Haiti when we decide to stop complaining about the now, but act and invest for Haiti's future.

My brother Steve in Haiti getting building material supplies to build a Childrens Village with Extollo. He sent me on this journey that resembled something of the movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Once out, you realize the ship is completely made by a machete knife and has no navigational tools to guide you home, I wondered how they will get back at night with a huge load of supplies. I set sail on the MSD #2 for 'Mother, Son, Daughter' Sail Boat. Walking Across the Border without a Passport between the Dominican Republic and Haiti

Visiting the Market and Going to Haiti. We visited the Haitian market on the Dominican side of the border with Haiti in Pedernales. We ended up paying a small fee to the border agents on each side, plus a guide to walk us through the town of Anse-A-Pitres in Haiti. This was a first, as we've never walked across the border without a passport or any documentation. We went over with about $20USD and spent every penny of it paying to get our way back into the Dominican Republic.

Haitian Nomad / Petite Cayemite 2019

Paradise found in a lost corner of Haiti!

The Caymites are two tiny islands placed just above the southwest coastline of Haiti, a peninsula that juts into the Gulf of Gonave. They are part of Grand-Anse Department, whose biggest metropolitan area is Anse a Macon.

The larger island, Grande Cayemite, sits east of Petite Caymite, both encompassing a total of 17 square miles. A miniscule population of 5,000 inhabitants lives on the islands, their nearest neighbor, Jérémie, lying 22 miles west.

Grand Cayemite and Petite Caymite share many features with other small coastal villages on the Haitian mainland: a subtropical climate and dazzling white-sand beaches that sift through your fingers like sugar. Both Grand and Petite Caymite's topography is made up of lush green vegetation and magnificent rock formations that have endured over the ages.

But the downside of life on the two islands is an oft-repeated theme elsewhere in Haiti: an underdeveloped infrastructure, especially the road-transit system. Roads are largely unpaved and navigable only by four-wheel drives or on foot.

The primary economic force on Grand and Petite Caymite is farming. Crops grown may include citrus fruits, nuts, cassava, and sugarcane. Some small coffee-growing areas also exist.

As is true all over Haiti, both islands are largely Christian communities, the dominant religion, Roman Catholic. And there is always a sprinkling of practicing Voodoo adherents as well.

At this time of year, deep into the winter season, temperatures on the islands range from a low of 21 Celsius to a high of 27 Celsius, with most days rainy and wet.
