Honey Beach Ankola | Unexplored Places in Karnataka | Red Earth Gokarna | Honnebail | Offbeat Beach
Ankola is a beautiful taluk in the Uttar Kannada District of Karnataka. Just 20 km from Gokarna, Honey Beach by the Arabian Sea is an unexplored shore to unwind and relax. Red Earth is the only option to stay there and it is a blissful place tucked inside nature.
Though the most famous beaches of Karanata are Udupi, Gokarna, Malpe; if you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation without a crowd then Ankola is a great option.
Red Earth, Ankola (which they market as Red Earth, Gokarna) is not a luxury resort but offers good service and close to nature stay. It has a semi-private beach and various access to the sea. The facilities are good, the food is nice, the staffs are friendly, and the rooms are comfortable. I would definitely want to go back there

10 Best Places to Visit Gokarna
Gokarna is a town on the Arabian Sea, in the southwestern Indian state of Karnataka. A popular pilgrimage destination for Hindus, it’s known for sacred sites like Mahabaleshwar Temple, which has a shrine dedicated to the deity Shiva. Nearby, Koti Teertha is a temple tank where devotees wash in the holy waters. The town is also home to beaches such as palm-lined Gokarna, in the center, plus Kudle and Om farther south.

Yana Caves - Yana is located near forests of Kumta in the same Shayadri mountain range of the Western Ghats. Yana is famous for these two massive rock outcrops known as the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara. It is a magnificent architecture of mother nature where a huge rock got transformed into a cave.
There is a small trek of about 2-3 kms to reach the caves. At some places, it is steep too so one needs to climb.
Vibhooti Falls - This waterfall was not on our list of places to visit near Gokarna but after talking to locals and from the signboards we got to know about it. Amidst the dense forest, the waterfall is surrounded by huge rocks. The water flows in steps here. The path to falls is also beautiful, surrounded by lush green Sahyadri forest.

Hi All, This was Day-2 in Gokarna, I have tried to Cover Places around Gokarna.
Places covered are :
1 - Murdeshwara Shiva Temple (80 Km from Gokarna)
2 - Apsarkonda Water Falls (60 Km from Gokarna)
3 - Yana Rocks/Caves (50 Km from Gokarna)
4 - Vibhuti Falls (50 Km from Gokarna)

1 - Murdeshwara Shiva Temple : Murudeshwara is a town in Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka, India. Murudeshwara is famous for the world's second tallest Shiva statue, the town lies on the coast of the Arabian Sea and is also famous for the Murudeshwara Temple. Murudeshwara has a railway station on the Mangaluru-Mumbai Konkan railway route.
The origin of the name Murdeshwar dates to the time of Ramayana. It is dedicated to Sri Lokankara, and a 20-storied gopura is constructed at the temple. The temple authorities have installed a lift that provides a breath-taking view of the 123-feet Sri Shiva idol from the top of the Raja gopura.
2 - Apsarkonda Water Falls : Apsara Konda Falls is a small waterfall located in the Uttara Kannada . The water cascades down from a height of 10 meters into a pond below. The specialty of this pond is that it faces the sea and appears like a lagoon. The best time to visit this falls is from October to February.
3 - Yana Rocks/Caves : Yana is famous for these two massive rock outcrops known as the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and the Mohini Shikhara (Shikhara means hill). The huge rocks are composed of solid black, crystalline karst limestone. Bhairaveshwara Shikhara is 120 metres (390 ft) in height, while the Mohini Shikhara, which is smaller, is 90 metres (300 ft) in height. Yana is also well known as a pilgrimage centre because of the cave temple below the Bhairaveshwara Shikhara where a Swayambhu (self manifested, or that which is created by its own accord) linga has been formed. Water drips from the roof over the linga, adding to the sanctity of the place.
4 - Vibhuti Falls : Vibhuthi Falls is located in Ankola taluk of Uttara Kannada district in Karnataka, India. The word Vibhuthi means limestone. The water in this falls comes past limestone rocks near Yana and so the falls is called as Vibhuthi Falls. Nearest towns near Vibhuthi falls are Sirsi , Kumta, Ankola, Gokarna. The falls are in the Karavali region of Karnataka, accessible by road from SH143 of Karnataka State. The nearest railway station is in Kumta, about 40 km from Vibhuthi falls.

50 kms from Sirsi North Kanara, Western Ghats. You can even go from ANKOLA, which is about 45 kms.
Vibhooti falls gets its name from the lime stone rock found in the vicinity of this waterfall. The waterfall is surrounded by huge rocks and various limestone structures
By Road: KSRTC bus services are available from Sirsi, which is at a distance of 50 km from waterfall. Vibhooti falls is at a distance of 400 km from Bangalore.
The nearest airport to Vibhooti falls is Mangalore International Airport.
Season/When to visit
Best time to visit Vibhooti falls is between October and March.

1. Yana: One of the famous pilgrimage destinations, Yana, is located at a distance of 20 km From Kumta. It is located at a distance of 9 km from Vibhooti falls.
