Germany: The Hanseatic city of Anklam
Anklam is a town in the Western Pomerania region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is situated on the banks of the Peene river, just 8 km from its mouth in the Kleines Haff, the western part of the Stettin Lagoon. Anklam was the capital of the former Ostvorpommern district. Since September 2011, it has been part of the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald.
The town is home to various historic buildings.
You can visit the Otto Lilienthal Museum and the Anklamer Steintor, which is a 13th century city gate. This only surviving city gate of the Hanseatic city of Anklam is a landmark of the city. After extensive restoration, since 1989 it has housed the regional history museum in the Steintor. It is the highest city gate of Pomerania and has a stepped gable.

Flight to Anklam
A flight to Anklam Germany.
Sunday 16 August 2020 we fly the first leg from Den Helder (Netherland) to Leer-Papenburg (Germany) there after the second leg to Anklam.
Our flight time was 4 hours and we had used 68 liters Mogas that day.
The next day after a nice evening at Anklam we flew to St. Michaelisdonn. Our plan was to return home this day but due to bad weather (CB, thunderstorms, hail...) over the Netherland and near the dutch border we decided to stay for the night. There where such a lot of friendly people at this airport and the adjacent campsite so we where lucky that we chose this place for landing! The men from the tower arranged our stay at fahrrad hostel Hohenkamp Camping. Over there we meet the owners, Walter and Susanne. During our stay we also meet Gerrit from Amsterdam, this very friendly man was joining us at diner, an evening drink and breakfast the next morning. At about 9:00 lt we took off for our last leg back home.
It was a unforgettable journey...!

Rund um die Ostsee! Startort ist Anklam vor der Insel Usedom. Dort geht die Tour weiter und durch den neuen Tunnel unter der Ostsee nach Polen. Nach Stopps an der Ostseeküste finde ich einen tollen Nachtplatz etwas abseits.
Eindrücke der ersten Etappe sind gut.

Bike Ride Bernau to Anklam
Took the road bike to visit my family in Gellendin, near Anklam. The route was mapped out via Garmin Connect and OpenStreetMap, roughly following the Berlin-Usedom Radwanderweg. I've enjoyed the many beautiful bike trails, but also encountered a few quite difficult sections of cobblestone, dirt roads, and worse.
GPS battery lasted for the first 106 miles, with about 12-15 miles to go before the final destination.
Must Visit Germany during Autumn Season
A special recreational offer of Hanover is the Tiergarten in the southeastern city, in the district of Kirchrode. The 1.12 km ² large, beautiful park with local wild animals in outdoor enclosures was created at the end of the 17th century as a leisure park for the nobility. The Tiergarten is therefore also the oldest forest enclosure in Germany and also the oldest recreational area of Hanover.
