We have so much coming up in this Laos Series, including driving from Vientiane to Vang Vieng, all the way to Luang Prabang - any recommendations are welcome!

Hachiko The Full Story of a Loyal Dog: AI Colorization & Real Bark.

This is the full story of Hachiko an Akita breed of dog who was born in 1923 and moved to Shibuya with this master Hidesaburo Ueno. When Hidesaburo Ueno died Hachiko continued to wait for nearly 10 years at Shibuya Station hoping for him to return. Recognizing his loyalty, the people made a statue of Hachiko which has remained at Shibuya Station ever since.

This video details the life of Hachiko in AI colorized photos and what he means to the people of Shibuya and Japan as a symbol of loyalty that’s lasted nearly 100 years. Hachiko Statue is a strong symbol of Shibuya and a meeting place.

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

There was once a time when you could only read about the most beautiful places in #China through the pages of a National Geographic magazine. China was a far-off, mythical land.
However, easy and speedy travel has changed this narrative. For example, a flight from the US to China is only 14 hours long, which seriously beats an endless boat ride around the world.

What’s going on everybody? Welcome back to another episode. This time, we’re checking out Shanghai, the biggest city in China. Lets go explore the top things to do and see while you’re there!

Yu Garden

One of the most popular destinations in all of Shanghai is the Yu Gardens. The garden is built in the Old City and is meant as a space for poetry and meditation. Here, you can also find multiple pathways and hidden pavillions to explore.

Oriental Pearl TV Tower

Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower is the 4th highest in Asia and the 6th highest tower in the world. If you can deal with heights and love great views, you can enjoy a beautiful dinner at the restaurant at the top. The basement of the building also hosts the Shanghai Municipal History Museum.

Nanjing Road

Nanjing Road is China’s most premier shopping street where fashion lovers come to visit and shop from across the world. Some of the luxury brands you can find on this street include Tiffany, Mont Blanc, Omega, and Dunhill.

Waibaidu Bridge

The Waibaidu Bridge, which is called Garden Bridge in English, is also known as “Grandma’s Bridge” by the locals due to its rich history and age of over 100 years old. You’ve seen this bridge in many blockbuster movies and has become a distinct landmark in Shanghai’s iconic skyline.

Shanghai River Boat

A popular must-do is the Shanghai River Cruise over the Huangpu River, which is the largest river passing through the city and is also the main source of drinking water for Shanghai. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the views on the amazing river cruise!

Shanghai World Financial Center

The Shanghai World Financial Center is a supertall skyscraper that is dedicated to commerce and culture. The building has multiple uses including a vertical city with over 60 office floors, conference facilities, retail and dining spaces, and a five-star hotel at the top, which makes it the world’s highest hotel from the 79th to 93rd floors. Above the hotel, at the 100th floor, is an observatory with a glass floor for visitors to enjoy breathtaking views.

The Bund

The Bund is a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River and is iconic to Shanghai. Here, you can experience the charm of Shanghai as a thriving metropolis as well as enjoy the century-old history of this amazing city.

Chinese STREET FOOD Tour of Hefang Street + Wushan Night Market | Hangzhou, China

My second day in Hangzhou, China continued into the evening as I went on the hunt for some dynamic street food in the old town! I headed over to Hefang Street, a pedestrian-only street that has lots of shops, restaurants, live musicians, and my favorite: street food!

Hefang Street wasn’t far from my Airbnb. The street was the main reason why I chose that apartment! The area is very touristy but it’s also a must-visit!

I tried some snacks with peanuts and black sesame. I also saw vendors mixing tea leaves. Hangzhou is the tea capital of China, and China is the tea capital of the world! On the street, you’ll also find a huge, gold laughing Buddha, which is pretty amazing!

There were even vendors making silver bracelets, others making T-shirts, some selling ice cream, and more.

As I searched for the good street food, I tried some baijiu, a type of Chinese alcohol. It was really good but really strong. I also tried some peach flower flavor and a yellow one. The woman let me try just about every variety, including a delicious rose flavor and a peach flavor.

Then, I finally found some food! They were skewered meat and vegetables. I was given 6 sticks for 9 Yuan, or only $1.31 U.S. I started with some moist, black mushrooms and moved on to some tasty fish balls with a little bit of spice and sweetness.

Then I tried a skewer that could have been chicken and some wild mushrooms. I followed that with pork and some wontons that were soft on the outside and chewy on the inside. They were damn good!

The place was super crowded and I didn’t see much street food even though I had seen some earlier. But I did find some beef and pork jerky. The beef jerky was next level and full of spice! The beef was better than the pork and it was so spicy! It was some of the best beef jerky I’d ever had!

Then someone let me try a durian cake that was so good! I found a bakery and tried a mochi with a biscuit around it and lots of other snacks! There was also some amazing green tea!

I saw some colorful umbrellas that I thought about getting for my kids. There were some stands with long lines, which means the food must be good, but I didn’t have time to wait, so I continued on. Then I found a guy who was blowing glass into the shapes of different animals including monkeys, chickens, dogs, chickens, dragons, and turtles!

I found a guy painting some incredible masks and found a really beautiful one for 400 Yuan. I collect masks, so I was really excited to find some that were being made right in front of me! It was bright and colorful!

I continued my search and found a food court with lots of different options including noodle bowls, pancakes, dumplings, and more! There were even insects, centipedes, and seahorses!

I went for some tofu steaks, which cost 10 Yuan, or about $1.45 USD. It was really nice and spicy with chili flakes! The vendor added extra chilies for me, which made it even better! There were radishes and chives in it as well. It was so freaking good and so nice and soft!

I also found some beef on a stick, which only cost me 5 Yuan/$0.73 U.S. for 1 skewer. I loved the spices. The beef was chewy and tender! Then I took a selfie with a fan!

Then I headed over to Wushan Night Market. Even though I had already bought everything I wanted, I still wanted to check it out! After a 25-minute walk, I came across the stalls. There are 400 vendors selling iPhone cases, hats, jewelry, bags, and more. It reminded me of the Sunday night market in Chiang Rai, Thailand!

There were lots of knockoff products, which I’m not a fan of! There were endless stores. I saw some Buddhas and even a vendor doing manicures!

I hope you enjoyed coming with me to Hefang Street and Wushan Night Market! If you did, please give me a thumbs up and leave me a comment. Also, please subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss my upcoming travel/food content!

Travel Vlog | 3 Days in Dali, Yunnan, China

On January 1, 2020, my dad and I took a spontaneous 3-day trip to a southern Chinese region: Dali (located in Yunnan Province).

During the trip, we were greeted by a very friendly group of local people (and dogs), who introduced us to the local history, culture, and cuisine. I learned a lot of historical lessons along the way, as well as emerged myself in the serenity of the natural landscape. Now, I would love to share my experience with you, and hope it'll intrigue you to take the trip yourself and record your own version of Dali in memory.

As ironic as 2020 turned out afterward, it only made me more grateful that I got to spend some quality family and friends time at such a hospitable and beautiful region at the beginning of this new decade -- filled with hope.

Scuba Diving the Underwater Ancient Ruins of Shi Cheng (Lion City) at Qiandao Lake in China

VIDEO FILMED BY CAROLYN WANG, EDITED BY LAWRENCE WANG. PLEASE CREDIT IF YOU ARE EMBEDDING THIS VIDEO IN YOUR WEBSITE OR ARTICLE.

I had the chance to do several dives in Qiandao Lake in China, exploring the underwater ancient ruins of Lion City (Shi Cheng). The city is believed to date back to 621 AD, during the Tang Dynasty, and the ruins are 85 - 130ft below the surface of Qiandao Lake (Thousand Island Lake) in the Zhejiang Province in eastern China. It's been submerged since 1959 when the valley at the foot of the Wu Shi (Five Lion) mountain was flooded with the building of the Xin'an River Hydropower Station.

Cheapest Private Room on Japan's Overnight Sleeper Train ???? 12 Hour Trip from Tokyo 寝台特急サンライズ出雲 vlog

Sunrise Express Izumo & Seto (寝台特急サンライズ出雲瀬戸号) is Japan's only overnight sleeper train which runs everyday (日本で唯一の毎日運行の夜行列車). Today, I book the cheapest private room called “Solo” (最安の個室 B寝台個室ソロ) from Tokyo Station to Izumoshi Station (東京駅から出雲市駅). It's a 950km (590 miles) trip that takes about 12 hours. When booking a Solo room, even if you are a foreign tourist with a JR pass, you will need to go to the ticket office and pay an additional sleeper private room fee in advance. In addition, I recommend you reserve a seat on the right side. This is because you can see other trains and a nice view of Lake Shinji. When you arrive in Izumo, it's a good idea to visit the famous Izumo Taisha Shrine (officially Izumo Oyashiro 出雲大社 いずもおおやしろ) and eat the local specialty, Wariko Soba noodles (割子蕎麦).

☆★☆This is what it was actually like!☆★☆
---12 hour trip on the Sunrise Express (Solo Room)---
* So many security cameras at Tokyo Station.
* Taking a warm shower on the train while it's snowing outside was an unusual experience.
* If you have 12 hours, you can fly to the United States, but I felt that the slow journey itself was the real pleasure of traveling by train.
* The bed was fully flat and the mattress was soft so I didn't get tired at all.
* I recommend booking a seat on the right side of the train so you can see the other trains and the beautiful view of Lake Shinji.
* Just in case, I bought a lucky charm for marriage at Izumo Taisha Shrine. (For myself)
* Izumo City's soba noodle was is good because you can enjoy various flavors at once.

A challenge to visit every country in the world... Japan is the 1st country that I visited out of all the 196 counties in the world.

☆How to get to this place☆

China has a deep and complex cultural heritage, with a number of traditions and lifestyles that are exceedingly different from those in the ‘West’. We all know that where one finds a rich culture you’re never far from traditional foods and unique flavours, and it’s in celebration of China’s culture and food that FoodieHub is searching for the best Chinese restaurant in the world. So pack away the knife and fork, as well as the typical Americanized-Chinese fare, and find out where to find the finest traditional Chinese food. Here’s 32 of the best Chinese restaurants in the world.

FoodieHub obviously starts the beginning of our journey in Beijing, China’s esteemed capital. Tucked away in Beijing’s cramped streets is the grand Jing Yaa Tang, possibly serving the best plate of the famous Peking duck in all of China. Known for its crispy skin and super-tender flesh, Jing Yaa Tang’s duck is oftentimes rivalled by that served in the Flower Drum in Melbourne, or the shiny, crunchy-skinned goose at Yat Lok in Hong Kong.

Out of all the Chinese restaurants around the world, there is still one restaurant which outperforms all others for flavour, tradition, service and taste, and that’s the Sek Yuen in Kuala Lumpur. Sek Yuen stakes a claim on true Chinese culinary estate by remaining faithful to old fashioned Chinese recipes, and preparing them properly, and ensuring that the guest is offered incredible tasting food in large portions; a true sign of traditional and cultural Chinese hospitality.

So that is our tour of the very best Chinese restaurants in 17 cities around the world. Many thanks to the dozens of experts that helped whittle down the above list to the very finest. So, after all of that where would FoodieHub recommend celebrating Chinese New Year if you could only visit one place? That would be Sek Yuen from Kuala Lumpur where Vivian Low led us on a culinary journey across decades. In addition to the delicacies described in her feature above, Sek Yuen is the oldest restaurant continuously serving the deliriously uplifting and delicious Yusheng noodle tradition where diners stand around a platter of noodles, raw fish, vegetables and lemongrass mixing, tossing and hollering all in the name of good luck and good fortune in the coming year.
