20 Things to do in Rome, Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript: (ROMA)
Rome, the Eternal City. After several trips to Italy, we finally managed to visit our biggest oversight: the capital! From wandering through Roman ruins to devouring pizza, and climbing up lookout points to feasting on gelato, in this travel guide, we’re going to share with you 20 things to do in Rome, Italy:
We reached Roscioli which was the best pizza in Rome. Pizzas are served by the weight and we sampled 7 different pizza slices.
We stopped at Largo di Torre Argentina an archaeological site home to four different temples containing parts of the portico of Pompey.
It was a short walk to the Pantheon, a former Roman temple turned church, which dates back to the year 125 AD. The Pantheon boasted the world’s largest cupola up until the 15th century, and it is still the largest unreinforced concrete dome in existence to this day making it one of the greatest architectural achievements by the ancient Romans.
If you want to find the best gelato, look for colours that are muted with small batches.
One of the many things to do in Rome, was to visit the Trevi Fountain. This is the largest Baroque fountain in the city.
Rome’s most famed attraction is the Colosseum and its surrounding ruins. We started our visit on Palatine Hill, the most central of Rome's seven hills. What visitors see today are the ruins of the Palace of Domitian, a 1st-century complex, which served as the main imperial palace for 300 years. We continued to the Roman Forum. This square was the centre of ancient Roman life, with government buildings, temples, and markets. We reached the Colosseum, which was the largest amphitheatre ever built and could hold an estimated 50,000 and 80,000 spectators.
Walking through the Vatican Museum was more overwhelming than enjoyable. We visited Vatican City to climb St. Peter’s Basilica for views of Rome.
Castel Sant’Angelo was commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family.
Villa Borghese is the 3rd largest public park in Rome with gardens, villas, and ponds with views of the city overlooking Piazza del PO-polo, the people’s square.

Alberobello, in the Puglia area of southern Italy, is a peculiar and lovely place that is becoming a popular stop on tour operators' and independent travelers' itineraries. The little town's distinctive neighborhoods of trulli, the area's typical white-washed conical-roofed buildings, have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Alberobello's historic center is largely made up of conventional small-town Italian streets and buildings, with a few strange trulli dotted among them. Residential trulli line some of the city's oldest back streets. The most charming and bizarre portions of Alberobello,
however, are two regions made nearly completely of trulli; there are over a thousand of them. Like a hobbit hamlet, the miniature white pointy-topped homes are packed together here.Albelobello is a Unesco World Heritage site since 1996 thanks to the unique architectural and historical value of trulli houses. They are considered one of the best examples of vernacular architecture in Europe.

Italy Travel Vlog || Campania || Day 3
Day 3 on the Cucina Italy Experience and we headed to La Masseria Farm to check out how they grow the lemons to make limoncello! Along with ALL the other incredible products they grow and produce there! We tasted olive oils, marmalades, homemade bread, honey, cheeses and more! We enjoyed a delicious lunch of pasta with eggplant and provola, which our tour manager helped us pronounce! AND we even picked up some extra friends along the way! A couple visiting from Canada just HAPPEN to be there with us and we made them officially part of the Cucina Crew for the day! We wrapped things up by learning a traditional Neopolitan toast to which we happily downed our homemade limoncello!
Our day continued as we visited the amazing Chef Carmen in Sorrento and her cooking school/restaurant. Class started with our own Caprese salad. Then we hand made gnocchi alla Sorrentina, and finished the evening with her incredible limoncello tiramisu! The group had a BLAST with Chef! Learning from her and laughing all the way! Plus we all got to sign her walls - so if you go, look for my signature!

Via Toledo is an ancient street and one of the most important shopping thoroughfares in the city of Naples, Italy. The street is almost 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) long and starts at Piazza Dante and ends in Piazza Trieste e Trento, near Piazza del Plebiscito.
The street was created by Spanish viceroy Pedro de Toledo, 2nd Marquis of Villafranca in 1536, who entrusted Ferdinando Manlio, an Italian architect.
Over the centuries, the reputation of the street was enhanced through being a stop on the Grand Tour.
On 15 May 1848, the street was the scene of the repression of Neapolitan liberals who defended the recently established constitution.
Between the 1930s and the '50s, the street was modified by the construction of taller buildings, especially near the area of Piazza Carità.
From 18 October 1870 to 1980, the street was called Via Roma, to celebrate Italian unification.
In 2012, Toledo metro station opened, and the street became closed to traffic from Via Armando Diaz to Piazza Trieste e Trento.
