होशियारपुर हिमाचल प्रदेश की सीमा पर स्थित है जो पूरी तरह से पहाड़ी इलाकों और खूबसूरत पहाड़ों पर बसा है। हिमाचल प्रदेश के साथ सीमाओं को साझा करने के कारण कुछ सुंदरता होशियारपुर को स्वाभाविक रूप से उपहार में दी गई है। होशियारपुर में कई ऐतिहासिक और पारंपरिक आकर्षण हैं। यह भी पुष्टि की जाती है कि यह क्षेत्र सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता का हिस्सा था। किंवदंतियों ने कहा कि महाकाव्य महाभारत के मुख्य पात्रों ने भी अपने निर्वासन के समय इस स्थान का दौरा किया था। तखनी रहमापुर और अटबारापुर में नवीनतम खुदाई से पता चलता है कि यह स्थान पाषाण युग के दौरान भी मौजूद था। इतिहास के अनुसार इस शहर की स्थापना चौथी शताब्दी में हुई थी और वर्ष 1809 में महाराजा करणवीर सिंह ने इस पर कब्जा कर लिया था।
यह कई संतों और गुरुओं का घर है, होशियारपुर को 'संतों की भूमि' के रूप में जाना जाता है। पहाड़ियों और जंगल से घिरे इस क्षेत्र की जलवायु राज्य के बाकी हिस्सों की तुलना में हल्की है। यह कई मंदिरों और गुरुद्वारों का घर है । होशियारपुर घूमने के कई कारण हैं, लेकिन लोग शहर में धार्मिक और ऐतिहासिक आकर्षणों के लिए प्रमुखता से आते हैं।

Anandpur Sahib, sometimes referred to simply as Anandpur (lit. city of bliss), is a city in Rupnagar district (Ropar), on the edge of Shivalik Hills, in the Indian state of Punjab. Located near the Sutlej River, the city is one of the most sacred places in Sikhism, being the place where the last two Sikh Gurus, Guru Tegh Bahadur and Guru Gobind Singh, lived. It is also the place where Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa Panth in 1699. The city is home to Takhat Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Third of the five Takhts in Sikhism.
The city is a pilgrimage site in Sikhism. It is the venue of the largest annual Sikh gathering and festivities during Hola Mohalla in the spring season.

Located near the Sutlej River, the city is one of the most sacred places in Sikhism, being the place where the last two Sikh Gurus lived, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji. this is the place where Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa Panth in 1699.Rejecting earthly honours and maintaining he did not fear death, Tegh Bahādur refused both options. Accepting the death sentence, the Guru recited the “Japjī ”(the most important Sikh scripture) and was decapitated in one blow by the executioner. A loyal Sikh took the Guru's head back to Anandpur.Gurudwara Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib: is the principal Sikh temple in the town. It marks the birthplace of Khalsa and one of the five religious authorities (Five Takhts) of Sikhism.

PUNJAB l TOP 10 PLACES TO VISIT IN PUNJAB
1) Harmandir Sahib / Golden Temple, Amritsar
It is the holiest Gurdwara of Sikhism. The fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan, designed the Harmandir Sahib to be built in the centre of this holy tank, and upon its construction, installed the Adi Granth, the holy scripture of Sikhism, inside the Harmandir Sahib. The construction of Harmandir Sahib was intended to build a place of worship for men and women from all walks of life and all religions to come and worship God equally.
2) Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar
The 6.5-acre garden site of the massacre is located in the vicinity of Golden Temple complex. It houses a memorial of national importance, established in 1951 by the Government of India, to commemorate the massacre of peaceful celebrators, including unarmed women and children by British forces.
3) Durgiana Temple, Amritsar
It is also known by other names of Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Durga Tirath and Sitla Mandir, is a premier Hindu temple of Punjab.Though a Hindu temple, its architecture is similar to the Golden Temple of Sikh religion. The original temple is reported to have been built in the 16th century. It was rebuilt in 1921 by Guru Harsai Mal Kapoor in the architectural style of the Sikh Golden Temple.
4) Harike wetland and bird sanctuary
It is also known as Hari-ke-Pattan, with the Harike Lake in the deeper part of it, is the largest wetland in northern India.The Punjab Government has introduced in December 2016 an amphibious bus to see the Harike wetland close up, this venture is named Harike Cruise.
5) Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple, Pathankot
It is a popular shrine of Lord Shiva. There are some caves which date to the time of the Mahabharata. According to a legend, the Pandavas stayed in those caves for a night during their exile (Agayatwas).
6) Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum, Ludhiana
The Museum displays objects connecting to Maharaja Ranjit Singh such as arms and armour, outstanding paintings and centuries old coins, manuscripts, and jewelry.A huge gallery displays various uniforms of the British era Indian army; air force and navy. The Kargil section has complete information of the Kargil war with a brief history of Kargil, Masokh Valley, Kaksar, etc. This Museum is a tribute to all those lives that were lost for a noble cause.
7) The Doraha Fort, Ludhiana
It is also known as Mughal Serai, Doraha or Doraha Sarai.Once an example of fine Mughal architecture, this historical serai is in a dilapidated condition due to indifferent attitude of the government.
8) Qila Mubarak, Bathinda
It is a part of the Bathinda Fort. It was earlier called kuchi-garhi or mud fort. The structure was later given a massive artistic touch. When Babur came in India for the first time, he came here with cannons. Four of them are here in this fort that are made up of an alloy of silver,gold,copper and iron.
9) Fateh Burj Kharar, SAS Nagar
It is the tallest minar in India situated in the historical village of Chappar Chiri.The 328 ft tower is dedicated to establishment of the Sikh Misls in a large part of India in 1711.
10) Virasat-e-Khalsa, Anandpur Sahib
It is a museum of Sikhism. The museum celebrates 500 years of the Sikh history and the 300th anniversary of the birth of Khalsa, based on the scriptures written by the tenth and last human guru, Guru Gobind Singh.

The Temple of Shri Naina Devi Ji is situated on a hilltop, base of which also has samadhi of bhagat Jatt Jeona Morh, in the Bilaspur District, Himachal Pradesh, India. The temple is connected with National Highway No. 21. The temple at the top of the hill can be reached via road (that curves round the hill up to a certain point) and then by concrete steps (that finally reach the top). There is also a cable car facility that moves pilgrims from the base of the hill all the way to the top
