Amsterdam Nightlife: TOP 10 Do's and DON'TS!

Planning a trip to Amsterdam? Here is Amsterdams Nightlife: Top 10 Dos And Don'ts!

1. Don't Be Scammed.
There is no such thing as a free canal cruise. If you want to go on one be sure to pick a well-known canal cruise tour.
Don't buy tulip bulbs in spring, tulip bulbs have to be planted in Autumn and so healthy bulbs can only be bought in this season.
Only rent bikes from proper bike shops, the guy outside your hotel trying to get you to rent a bike, probably stole it.
Don't buy herb from street vendors, only Coffeeshops are licensed to sell it.

2. Don't Pay Multiple Entrance Fees.
The best way to experience all the nightclubs Amsterdam has to offer is to get a Nightlife ticket, this ticket will give you free admission to over 30 nightclubs as well as many other benefits.

3. Stick To Beer And Wine.
Cocktails are rather expensive in Amsterdam and it is also a lot easier to over-indulge when drinking spirits, so if you want to party all night without ending it with an empty wallet, and an empty stomach then we suggest you stick to beer and wine, it's cheaper and easier to control.

4. Start Early.
Even though bars will stay open till around 3 am and clubs until around 5 am, if you're looking to save some money it's best to start your night early. Taxis are expensive so it's best to travel via tram or bus, however, the bus and tram service stops after midnight so unless you want to pay for a taxi at the end of the night, you're better off starting early and catching the last bus home.

5. Stay At A Hostel And Start Your Night There.
Amsterdam's hostels are actually stylish and unique and in general, a lot nicer than your average hostel, in addition to being cheaper than your average hotel. Most hostels also have a fun atmosphere and serve reasonably priced alcohol making them not only a great place to stay but also a great place to start your night out.

6. Watch What You Wear.
Most clubs don't enforce a strict dress code, as long as you look fairly respectable, ripped jeans, scruffy shirts, and dirty shoes will probably get you turned away at the door but a nice top and pair of jeans and clean comfy shoes should get you into almost every club except possibly the high-end clubs like Jimmy Woo. You should also practice looking sober too because if the doorman thinks you're drunk he'll probably turn you away.

7. Summer Concerts.
If you're traveling to Amsterdam in the summer make sure you keep some nights free for non-clubbing events. Any given weekend there can be up to 200 events happening, including the Kwaku Summer Festival and ARTIS Summer Nights, urban beaches like Sloterplas and Amsterdam Bos open up, and rooftop terraces suddenly turn into party venues.

8. Don't Get Caught Without Food.
Most restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets close around 10 pm, unless you go to the snack bars in the center of town, there isn't really anywhere else to get a late-night bite to eat, so, during the day, make sure you visit a supermarket and get some snacks to keep back at your accommodation.

9. Carry The Essentials.
Foreigners in Amsterdam must carry their passports with them at all times and you will probably have to show your ID at the door of most nightclubs. In addition to this, you'll need to carry some loose cash for the local markets and for buying street food, and an umbrella or a waterproof jacket. In Amsterdam the weather is unpredictable and on average it rains 200 days a year.

10. Be Aware Of The Canal!
Whether you're having drinks on a canal cruise or walking back after a long night out, be aware that there is a canal and it is surprisingly easy to fall in, especially if you've had a few. Falling in could mean you lose your belongings, or that you damage your phone, injure yourself, or at the very least get cold and wet, so it's something worth avoiding.

Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena: a place to visit

Amsterdam Southeast is a multicultural, vibrant and happy place.

With this video we hope to achieve more awareness of this lively area.

AMSTERDAM CITY TOUR - NETHERLANDS - WHERE TO GO, WHAT TO SEE AND DO IN AMSTERDAM

Amsterdam city tour in the Netherlands.
This month i took a two day trip to Amsterdam in the Netherlands to check out the sights and lifestyle in this canal city. Like many I usually travel solo and this is a great place for solo travellers to get out into the world.
I took a canal boat ride through the canals of Amsterdam taking in the many different streets and sights along the way. The best way to get around Amsterdam is by a boat, a bike or simply walk.
Check out Amsterdam central station, the van gogh museum, the heineken brewery and many more.
Plenty of places to shop, eat and drink. The locals are really friendly and Amsterdam is good to visit all year round.

A Day in My Neighborhood: Is Bijlmer Really a Dutch Ghetto?

The atmosphere on the Bijlmer streets is immensely different than that of the city center of Amsterdam: it's very vibrant and multicultural. But the truth is, this Amsterdam neighborhood used to be synonymous with crime, drugs, and illegal immigrants. Many Dutch agreed that the Bijlmer was the first and only Dutch ghetto, the worst reputation a neighborhood can earn in Holland.

But I live here today, and I've never felt safer, comfortable, not to mention having the possibility to have a much bigger space than what you would normally get and pay if you lived in the center. So how is it really like to live in this neighborhood?

Amsterdam Metro Ride - Zuid to RAI | 03/10/22 | NL

Riding the Amsterdam Metro from Amsterdam Zuid Station to RAI Station. The Netherlands. 03/10/22.

Amsterdam Zuid (Amsterdam South) is a railway station situated in the borough of Amsterdam-Zuid in Amsterdam, Netherlands. For a number of years, it was named Amsterdam Zuid WTC, in reference to the neighbouring World Trade Center Amsterdam. During 2006, in conjunction with the rapid development of the area surrounding the station, the station was enlarged and the reference to the WTC was formally dropped from the name.

As of 2021, Amsterdam Zuid also has a metro station served by 3 lines (50, 51, 52) of the Amsterdam Metro, and two tram stops (Station Zuid and Parnassusweg) served by tram lines 5 and 25.

During 1978, Amsterdam Zuid station opened on a strategic rail route commonly known as the Zuidtak and formed the heart of the modern Zuidas business district, which houses several large banks, accounting and legal firms, as well as being the main public transport gateway for the VU University campus located just south of the station. Over time, the station has played an increasingly important role in Amsterdam's transport strategy and passenger numbers have grown extensively since its opening. To cope with its high patronage, Amsterdam Zuid has been extended and additional services put on; it has effectively replaced the older Amsterdam Centraal station as the capital's main station for direct trains.

During the 2010s, as a means of allowing for further development at the station, a large expansion plan was proposed for Amsterdam Zuid. During December 2014, an agreement for this expansion plan, which has been referred to as the Zuidasdok project, was signed by various public bodies, authorising it to proceed. The publicly funded project has an estimated cost of approximately €1.9 billion; this price tag means it shall be one of the biggest infrastructure projects ever performed in the Netherlands to date. Having received political backing, construction commenced in 2019 and is scheduled for completion around 2028.

Amsterdam RAI (Dutch: Rijwiel en Automobiel Industrie) is a railway station situated in southern Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is located between the two directions of the A10 Amsterdam ring road. It is also a metro station at which GVB runs two lines. RAI gets its name from the nearby Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The original station opened in 1981 when it was a terminus station, with just one platform and the station had no signals. It was then possible to walk straight onto the GVB tramway line 4 (with Amsterdam Central Station as terminus) without changing platforms.

In 1988 the tram terminus moved to street level below the station. This was due to the building of Amsterdam Metro line 51 next to the railway station. This line began operating in 1990. The roof of the railway station was built in 1997. The new station was built in 1991 and Amsterdam RAI became an island platform station and then in 1993 the line was extended towards Weesp.

The design of the station is by architect Rob Steenhuis.

In 2012, an expansion of the station from 2 to 4 tracks was commenced. These works were completed in August 2016.

The station is named after the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre building.

The Amsterdam Metro (Dutch: Amsterdamse metro) is a rapid transit system serving Amsterdam, Netherlands, and extending to the surrounding municipalities of Diemen and Ouder-Amstel. Until 2019 it also served the municipality of Amstelveen but this route has been closed for conversion into a tram line. The network is owned by the City of Amsterdam and operated by municipal public transport company Gemeente Vervoerbedrijf (GVB) which also operates trams, free ferries and local buses.

The metro system consists of five routes and serves 39 stations, with a total length of 42.7 kilometers (26.5 mi). Three routes start at Amsterdam Centraal: Route 53 and Route 54 connect the city centre with the suburban residential towns of Diemen, Duivendrecht and Amsterdam-Zuidoost (the city's southeastern borough), while Route 51 first runs south and then follows a circular route connecting the southern and western boroughs. Route 50 connects Zuidoost to the Amsterdam-West borough using a circular line, which it shares with Route 51. It is the only route that does not cross the city centre. A fifth route, Route 52, running from the Amsterdam-Noord (north) borough to Amsterdam-Zuid (south) via Amsterdam Centraal, came into operation on 21 July 2018. As opposed to the other routes, it runs mostly through bored tunnels and does not share tracks with any other route.

Amsterdam Street Food - all the best to try

#streetfood #amsterdam #food
This video features some of the best Amsterdam Street food which you’ll find when you visit Amsterdam. Amsterdam food has a lot of delicious options on offer. Amsterdam street food is varied and delicious, though admittedly not very healthy. This time we explored some of Amsterdam's best street food including haring, fresh warm stroopwafels, Febo, friet (fries) with peanut sauce (sate sauce) and poffertjes or Dutch mini pancakes.

This time we were joined by Dutch local and fellow youTuber Robbert Munsters. Here is a link to his channel:

Today we're in Amsterdam. We're going to check out the food scene. We're going to look at street food. We're going to look at some of the traditional things that you can find on the streets of Amsterdam. It's a little bit rainy, but we're hungry. Here we go!

Today I am joined by Dutch local and also YouTubber on IamEverybody. This is Robbert. Throughout Amsterdam you will find fish stalls selling a variety of fish. One of the specialities, which the Dutch love, is haring. Today we're going to try it. It's an acquired taste, huh?

We've just had a look at stroopwafel or syrup waffle being made fresh. A stroopwafel, for those who don't know is a Dutch treat second to none and made fresh they're warm and delicious. I'm excited.
Oh, I like how you did that Robbert. With no fear.
It's better than haring, right?

We're at one of the Dutch institutions, it's called Febo or food in the wall and here you can pick food out of the wall. It's one of the strangest concepts here. It's awesome! So we got a delicious sate croquet. It's just fried goodness. If you come to Amsterdam you've got to try the Febo. It's cheap and cheerful, very tasty and very convenient. It's such a cool concept.

Down a narrow street near the Kalvertoren there's a place that's been making
fries since 1957. We're going to grab a few now. It's raining and people are queuing for the fries. So you know they are good. Robbert's been kind to share with me. Usually people wouldn't share their chips. I'm guessing. Oh Robbert, you are terrible. No you can't feed me a chip. No thanks. I don't want it on my nose. So my favourite is the fries with peanut sauce. It's just delicious. These chips are so good, even the pigeons like it....and rightly so, they really are tasty.

If you like pancakes then the Dutch equivalent is the thing for you. These are called poffertjes. Are you not going to make it fresh? Oh dear! Oh no, no, these are from yesterday. Yeah, I see so. It's fresh enough. We're having some delicious poffertjes accompanied by Hare Krishna singing, so that's really adding to the atmosphere. They're sugary, they're buttery, they're are so good. Mmmm.

Lower. A little lower. We've eaten a hell of a lot. Probably more than we should have given that it's just finished Christmas.

Do you want to saw something about how people can find you?
No! No, alright, alright, I'll do it. Well if you want to see more videos about Amsterdam that I make, then you just go to youtube.com/IamEverybobby.

Ya! And I love Robberts videos they are well worth checking out. Definitely subscribe to his channel. You're such a kiss ass. Indeed.

And that's it for our tour of Amsterdam street food.

Walking in Amsterdam ????️ | South-East | The Netherlands 4K60

Walking around the High-rises next to the Johan Cruijff Arena and in the Bijlmer Centre.
South East includes the residential area De Bijlmer as well as the entertainment world of the Johan Cruijff ArenA, AFAS Live and the Ziggo Dome, and numerous gleaming office buildings.
Amsterdam South East is a fairly new area. construction started in the 60's as new modern function town of the future. Since the 2000's lot's urban renewal projects initiated by the borough and city and at the moment has lot's of interesting building and housing projects planned for the near future.
It’s different typical canals-and-clogs image of Amsterdam, but with around 100,000 Dutch residents from mostly Caribbean descent and 150 other ethnic backgrounds it's a very culturally diverse and interesting area. ????

Amsterdam Storybook Bike Tour

New Amsterdam Travel Video- Once outside the major Dutch cities, much of the Netherlands looks like the setting for one big storybook fairytale: quaint villages with steepled churches and drawbridges over small canals; meandering rivers through bright green grasslands with swimming swans, ducks and geese; and windmills, castles and fortresses under trees in enchanted forests. And exploring these areas is easy by bike. For this trip, we started in Weesp, which is only a few kilometers east of Amsterdam zuidoost. From there, we headed to Muiden and Muiderslot Castle. Next, we stopped in the seaside village of Muiderberg and rode through the Naardenbos Woods on the way to our final stop - the star-shaped fortress town of Naarden. It's definitely sensory overload with so much beauty and so much history to see.
