The Netherlands is known everywhere as a land of windmills, canals, and tulips, and today's visitors certainly will find these among its many tourist attractions.
But along with the country's many breathtaking gardens and picturesque villages, those sightseeing here will also find the vibrant cities, like Amsterdam, filled with museums showcasing a rich heritage of artists. Other places to visit include numerous medieval castles and cityscapes, along with a 13,800-acre national park, and a tide control system that's been named one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
Given the relatively small size of The Netherlands, all these attractions and fun things to do are within a relatively compact area, and the landscape is quite flat.
Consequently, it's extremely easy to do at least a little of your sightseeing the Dutch way: by bicycle. Many of the top travel destinations and major cities in the Netherlands actively encourage the use of pedal-power and provide free bikes to explore the sights.
However you choose to see the Netherlands, you're guaranteed a great time in one of the friendliest and most liberal cultures in Europe.

Amsterdam is a small town of 820,000 people but has many great bars and night clubs neatly located in close proximity of each other. I recommend you start your evening with a few drinks at Hannekes Boom located at the Amsterdam waterfront after drop by Amsterdam's oldest alcohol tasting chamber Wynand Fockink to try traditional Dutch Jenever from which modern Gin originated and drop by TonTon Club Center for a great meetup place to play classic arcade games but if you are a newcomer to Amsterdam than you must join the Amsterdam Pub Crawl to mingle with locals, expats and travelers while you learn everything about the latest bars & nightclubs in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is breathtaking from the canals that's why my cousin and I rented a canal boat so we could have our own private tour. We rented the canal boat from canalmotorboats.com conveniently located west of Amsterdam Central Station and rents for 40 euros per hour but make sure to reserve a few days ahead.
Amsterdam has 2 major nightlife districts called Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein these squares are loaded with bars and night clubs. Depending on where you start, I recommend you get a delicious negroni from NJOY cocktail bar but beware, they have a strict door policy so do not show up too trashed or under dressed.
At Rembrantplein you'll find many great spots like Escape night club, Jantjesverjaardag (a popular student bar), techno club Air Amsterdam, and my favorite Club NYX for their bizarre toilet bar on the top floor where you literally can take a piss behind the DJ in a urinal on the dance floor.
If you're not into night clubs than Amsterdam has a magnitude of bars and cafes, it is what Amsterdam is best known for. Dig deep into local Dutch cafe culture in the Jordaan district at cozy places Cafe Thijsen, Gevulde Gaper, Staalmeesters and De Zotte.
For party bars and dive bars check out No. 129, Cafe Kooper, Kopstootbar and end your night either at the Water Hole for rock music and live bands or club hard at the massive Paradiso dance floor or consider Chicago Social club for a more laid back hipster kind of vibe.

In conclusion, the Amsterdam nightlife is one of world's best. The fact that bars and clubs are open late, no last call, great selection of music & venues plus a chill laid back local crowd that makes Amsterdam the absolute party capital of Europe, without a doubt. Walking Tour in Amstelveen / Stadshart / shopping centers - Amstelveen Center - 4k
Amstelveen is a town and municipality in the Dutch province of North Holland. The built-up area borders the city of Amsterdam in the north and is not far from Schiphol. The municipality has 92,351 inhabitants and has a total area of 44.08 km², of which 41.13 km² is land and 2.95 km² water.
Until 1964 the municipality was called Nieuwer-Amstel. In the 13th century, the Amstelland was divided into Ouder-Amstel (east of the Amstel) and Nieuwer-Amstel (mostly west of the river).
After the Second World War, Nieuwer-Amstel became an overflow municipality for Amsterdam and also became a location for people who worked at Schiphol. Expansion neighborhoods were rapidly building up; In the 1960s, Amstelveen was the fastest growing city in the Netherlands for some time. However, the quality of living and landscaping were not lost sight of. From 1964 the name of the village that had grown into a suburb was given to the entire municipality.
Since 1995, the population has increased by 22% to almost 91,000 in 2021.

The Stadshart has a double function: city center and residential area. Living and working take place next to each other and one above the other. Many houses date from the period 1945-1970. The Oude Dorp is a special part of Amstelveen: the old village of Amstelveen started here. The neighborhood is characterized by narrow streets. The current buildings are a mixture of old and new. The large amount of cafes and restaurants is striking. The district borders the railway embankment in the south-east. In the summer months, the museum tram from Amsterdam to De Poel still runs here. Amstelveen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɑmstəlˈveːn] is a municipality in the province of North Holland, Netherlands with a population of 89,918 (2017). It is a suburban part of the metropolitan area of Amsterdam.
The municipality of Amstelveen consists of the historical villages of Bovenkerk and Nes aan de Amstel. In addition, as well as Downtown Amstelveen (Dutch: Amstelveen stadshart), the following neighbourhoods have been recently built, : Westwijk, Bankras-Kostverloren, Groenelaan, Waardhuizen, Middenhoven, Randwijk, Elsrijk and Keizer Karelpark. The name Amstelveen comes from the Amstel, a local river (as does the name Amsterdam) and veen, meaning fen, peat, or moor. KLM, the Dutch national airline, has its headquarters office in Amstelveen (although it is slated to leave for Schiphol in 2024[4]); in addition the municipality has the international headquarters of one of the Big Four accounting firms, KPMG. The city has a Museum of Modern Art.
