Lisbon: What NOT to Do in Lisbon, Portugal

Tourist information on visiting Lisbon, Portugal. From what to do like visit Mosteiro do Jeronimos, having pasteis de Belem and eating like a king, but also what you should not do when you visit Lisbon. From scary taxi rides, seven hills you will walk up, and wondering why people are trying to sell you random stuff on the street, this is one of my favorite and most thorough city travel videos.

???? Lisbon nightlife 2023 ????
Nightlife in Lisbon Portugal is vibrant, cool and joyful. Bairro Alto at night is one of the best spots of Lisbon nightlife, where most of the best bars in Lisbon are located. Amadora Portugal Walking Tour

Amadora Portugal Walking Tour

Amadora is a Portuguese city and municipality, located in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. It has an urban area of 23.79 km2 and 171,500 inhabitants in 2021, hence a population density of 7,195 inhabitants per km2, making it the fourth largest city in the country.

The municipality of Amadora, with an area and population similar to those of the city, is divided into six parishes. The municipality is limited to the northeast by the municipality of Odivelas, to the southeast by the municipality of Lisbon, to the south and west by the municipality of Oeiras and to the west and north by the municipality of Sintra.

Amadora City Center

The municipal territory has been inhabited since ancient times, with several vestiges of the prehistoric occupation of the area. The city of Amadora was built around the place of Porcalhota, served by the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição da Lapa, seat of its own brotherhood that had large assets. It belonged, between the 19th and 20th centuries, to the municipality of Oeiras, having been dismembered from Carnaxide in 1936, becoming an autonomous parish, with the village being elevated to the category of town in the following year. In 1979, the village of Amadora is elevated to a city and the municipality of Amadora was constituted due to its demographic development.

Initially rural and dotted with villages and small couples, the municipality developed as a result of improved accessibility, especially after the construction of the Sintra Line. Between the 1950s and 1970s, it suffered a population explosion due to its position within the first crown surrounding the country's capital.

It has to be taken into account that it includes several department stores, among which is the Dolce Vita Tejo, the largest shopping mall in the Iberian Peninsula. It is also worth to be mentioned the cultural events hosted by the city, standing out the Comics Festival, one of the most acclaimed by the comic world at European level.

Amadora has also a stunning garden located in the heart of the city, whose picturesque landscapes, are the ideal place to stroll with family or friends and enjoy the peace and harmony that permeates this part of the town.

Lisbon ???????? Walk - Montes Claros Viewpoint, Walking Routes: Monsanto Forest

????Nov/21 ????11h30 ????️15℃ (59℉) ????1.2Km (0.7mi.)
????️Map:

Monsanto Forest is the largest park in Lisbon, and is sometimes called the City's Lung, for providing fresh air. It is filled with life (animals, plants, fungi, etc...) and is large enough that it will take many of our walks to get to know Monsanto remotely well. There are many viewpoints, overlooking different areas of Lisbon, Oeiras and Amadora municipalities.
We start off at the Montes Claros Viewpoint, which overlooks Amadora northwestwards, Restelo southwards, and Lisbon eastwards (though the foliage is so dense one can barely see anything other than the trees themselves). We then head through one of the many walking/biking routes in Monsanto, and finish with a better view of the Bridge over the river and the Cristo Rei statue, across the river.
