Top 10 Best Hotels to Visit in Michigan | USA - English

Michigan is a state in the Great Lakes region of the upper Midwestern United States. Its name derives from a gallicized variant of the original Ojibwe word ᒥᓯᑲᒥ, meaning 'large water' or 'large lake'.

Michigan is probably best known by outsiders for its shape, that of a mittened hand, surrounded by the vast waters of Lake Michigan. Alpena, Michigan - The Perfect Mix of City and Nature

Located along the shores of Thunder Bay (Lake Huron) in northern Lower Michigan, Alpena is a great travel destination. Alpena has a beautiful downtown area with many shops and restaurants along with many parks along the Thunder Bay River including Bay View Park which looks out at Thunder Bay which is home to many shipwrecks in the area as well as the Alpena Lighthouse. About a couple miles north of the city is Island Park where you can get out into nature and feel like you are in the middle of the northern woods despite only being a very short distance from civilization.

Top places to visit in Michigan

- Bounded by the four Great Lakes and boasting of the longest freshwater coastline in the country with more than 64,000 inland lakes and ponds, it is certainly no wonder that the state of Michigan derived its name from a French alteration of the indigenous term for large lake.

Under the Radar Michigan: #507 - Alpena / Grand Rapids

On this episode of Under The Radar Michigan, we start off in awesome Alpena with some outstanding art that’s up in a loft. We also meet a talented young couple who are bringing fresh food to Alpena, one palate at a time … and even go to a surreal place where you can find a real lot of fossils. Then we head back to great Grand Rapids for a trip back in time … a finer diner … and a Michigan made guitar that will rock your socks off. It’s all right here in Michigan ... and right here on UTR.

The Fresh Palate - Alpena, Michigan | Scottman895 Travel Delights

The Fresh Palate is a restaurant located in downtown Alpena, Michigan which serves some fresh and delicious cuisine. I head to Alpena to check out the restaurant and try the Ubud Hotel tacos. It was great to dine in at a restaurant for the first time since before the virus outbreak!
