11. Santiago de Compostela. Hotel Pazo de Altamira is a lovely, modern hotel within a gorgeous old Galician stone building. And it’s right opposite the fabulous market!
10. Jerez de la Frontera. Definitely try and stay at the famous Hotel Casa Grande - a big old mansion with a gorgeous rooftop terrace for drinks -
9. Vera Valley. I would suggest staying in the village Valverde de la Vera and my pick is the cosy and rustic La Picota:
8. Cadaqués. I love Tramantua Hotel, a white-washed gem run by a husband and wife team… service is fantastic, and it’s right in the old city, plus near the beach:
7. Cáceres. We stayed at the budget but good Hotel Iberia Plaza Mayor with views of the square): If you want to stay IN the old city though, the Parador here is a 14th century palace - the full Caceres medieval dream!
6. Oviedo. Prices in Northern Spain are often cheaper, so you can happily get a great hotel here without spending a lot. Check out the excellent Barceló Oviedo Cervantes:
5. Zahara de los Atunes. Either go with Hotel Avenida Playa (simple, clean, and right off the beach - or the slightly more chic Hotel Doña Lola -
4. Las Alpujarras. Casa Rural la Fragua is a gorgeous little tucked away whitewashed apartment in Capileira (either stay here or in Pampaneira). This place is perfect for exploring the villages around the area.
3. El Rocío. I love Hotel La Malvasía with its old-world luxury, the fact it’s only a 5-minutes walk from the famous Santa María del Rocío church and they also have a terrace which is perfect for sunsets.
2. Mejorada del Campo.
Bus info: (take the bus from Conde de Casal). Don’t spend the night there. It’s a day trip. But my favourite Madrid hotels are below (in descending price order):

Granada is the archetypal southern Spanish town -- a place not to be missed. This first afternoon we will visit two of the most impressive edifices ever built -- the hilltop fortress of The Alcazaba, and the gigantic palace complex of the Alhambra, which was the last refuge of the Moors in Spain. The Alhambra embraces hundreds of years of architectural history that includes private dwellings still occupied today. It also includes several churches, a restaurant, gardens, statues and fountains, and the centerpiece 16th-century Renaissance palace. All this overwhelming opulence makes an unforgettable impression, among a honeycomb of palatial interiors, covered passageways, obscure alleys, and several dozen elegant courtyards scattered throughout the Casa Real. Granada Spain: Amazing City in Andalucia - 4K-HDR Walking Tour With Captions!
In this video I am walking through the streets of Granada city in Spain, Andalucia, on a October evening. You will see the main shopping, bar and dining streets, the famous cathedral and the beautiful Calle Caldereria Nueva. This walk ends at the spectacular viewpoint San Nicolás (Albaicin district) where you can see the Alhambra palace. Granada is undoubtedly one of the main references of Flamenco in Spain and in particular the Sacromonte one of its cradles. This gypsy neighborhood is the epicenter of what the experts call Jondura and Elf and emerges the Zambra, a flamenco dance and song party that dates back to the century XVI And in particular to the wedding rituals of the Moors of the city. Granada is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, at the confluence of four rivers, the Darro, the Genil, the Monachil and the Beiro. The city sits at an average elevation of 738 m above sea level, yet is only one hour by car from the Mediterranean coast, the Costa Tropical. The Alhambra, an ancient Nasrid citadel and palace, is located in Granada. It is the most renowned building of the Islamic historical legacy with its many cultural attractions and architectural elements that make Granada a popular destination among the tourist cities of Spain. Visit the Alhambra of Spain ???? -Things to do in Granada city
Granada is one of the most beautiful cities of Spain, it is known for having the most touristic attraction in the whole country…The Alhambra of Spain.
A few weeks ago, we decided to do a one-day trip to Granada. We went by bus, and it was way better than what we thought, going by bus will take you around 5 hours and a half, which is almost the same as going by car, and the prices are very cheap, with just 20/25 euros you will do the round trip.
Our hotel was “El Parador de la Alhambra”. It´s for sure not the cheapest option, but if you can afford it, we totally recommend it, as the place is inside the Alhambra. That means you can visit everything that is inside (of course not the palaces or the places where you need tickets to get in). It´s also a luxury place, and the breakfast at the hotel is just delicious.
As soon as we were set up and ready to go, we started with our list of things to do in Granada city in just one day. We arrived at the city around afternoon and it was already lunch time, so we went to eat. We concluded that the food and the restaurants in Granada are perfect, and the best of all is how everyone treat you, the waiters are really nice, plus it is impossible to leave the restaurant without being completely full, the dishes and the meals are huge!!
Right after finishing eating, we went to chase the sunset, there are many different view points for sunsets in Granada, the most famous ones are San Miguel Alto, San Miguel Bajo and San Nicolas. We choose San Miguel Alto, and the view from there was impressive, we could see the whole city of Granada, The Alhambra and the mountains as a background.
As soon as the sunset is over, you should go to your hotel, have a rest and get ready for some party in Granada. The atmosphere of Granada at nigh couldn´t be any better, the locals are really friendly, and they are always on the mood for party. If you are not in that mood, you can just visit some bars and try tapas while drinking some beer.
The next morning we recommend you wake up really early and go see the sunrise at San Nicolas, as it´s the only moment of the day where it will be empty and is the place where you will find some of the best photos of La Alhambra. As soon as you finish your time there, you can choose to walk through the old town of Granada, visit the cathedral or just walk through the streets near the Alhambra of Spain, there are beautiful white streets with the view of La Alhambra at the back.
You cannot leave Granada city without entering the Alhambra. It´s one of the best things to do in Granada. The first thing you should try to see first in La Alhambra, are the famous Nazari palaces, it will be your only chance to see them without a huge crowd. That happens in the whole Alhambra, but the palaces are the most impressive thing of it. Whenever you finish admiring them, there will be two more things to see in the Alhambra of Spain, which are the Generalife and the Alcazaba, of course if you can try to see everything, you will love it.
