To travel in Xinjiang it may not be the easiest thing lately but in case you make it, you must check out the highlights pointed out in this travel movie. You can start with the walnut museum which is situated at the end of the thousand miles grapes gallery. The longest grape gallery in the world with almost 3km length. It is located in the west, on 629 national road at the exit of Hotan city towards BageQi district (the old Hotan area) and it is a blast for those who love photography, walnuts and grapes of course.

After that we went to check the richest stone market in the world (well it's the Nephrite jade market)
Historically, Hotan is the main source of nephrite jade used in ancient China. The light coloured jade is called Mutton fat jade and people from all over China come here...
Nowadays only few kilos of good quality jade are found yearly. Some is still mined in the south, in Kunlun Mountains but it is generally of poorer quality than the one found in the rivers.
Then we asked why those stones are so precious?
To see how much a stone, sorry a Nephrite Jade, could cost, check the end of our movie and you will be amazed or just shocked. Meanwhile take a brake and we introduce you to some of the most delicious local street food you must try when you come to Hotan.
The underground whole roasted lamb & roasted chicken a newer version, it's famous especially for the unique process of pit-cooking. The lambs are usually less than a year old, and their meat it's covered evenly in a blend of special paste, with fine flour, slated water, eggs, curcuma, pepper and cumin powder. The meat is then skewered on a special stick, and lower inside a pit, covered by wood then dirt and left there to roast up for 1-2 hours. When ready the mutton tastes fresh without any sheep odour.
This dish getting its fame throughout the country & even the whole world because of the crisp skin, tender meat and the mouth watering flavour.

Visit the night market where hundred of food stands can satisfy world wide tastes but most special dish you MUST try it is: The roasted goose eggs, nicknamed roasted triple goose yolk. They are an original creation in Hotan, and a sellout here at the night market. Throughout the coin-sized hole the white is drained out, leaving the yolk in the shell, then add two more yolks with honey and saffron. Finally gently place the eggshell on the burning coals for 20 to 30 minutes & done. The timing and temperature are key of this dish.

Aksu city, under the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Aksu region, is located in 79 ° 43′26″ East longitude ~ 82 ° 00′38″, 39 ° 28′57″ North latitude ~ 41 ° 30′10″, is located in the middle of southern Xinjiang, the Taklamakan Desert northwest edge, the upper reaches of the Tarim River, is the Aksu region, seven counties, two cities, political, economic and cultural center. The total area is 14,420,000 square kilometers (including the Corps under its jurisdiction).
Aksu has a pleasant climate, flat terrain, fertile land, abundant water, abundant light, long frost-free period, suitable for all kinds of crops, the city's arable land area of 1,162,900 mu, 700,000 mu of forest, 4.03 million mu of pasture, which can be grazed throughout the year.
Aksu City is an important high-quality cotton production base in China, and has become an important cotton trading distribution center and gathering place for light textile industry in Xinjiang. 2018 reconfirmed national sanitary city (district). 2019 Top 100 counties and cities in western China, national rural governance system construction pilot unit. In October 2020, it was awarded as a national model city (county) of double support.

Kashgar, Xinjiang???????? Real Ambience in Lively Uyghur Bazaar (4K UHD)
Kashgar is an oasis city in the Tarim Basin region of Southern Xinjiang. It is one of the westernmost cities of China, near the border with Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Pakistan. With a population of over 500,000, Kashgar has served as a trading post and strategically important city on the Silk Road between China, the Middle East and Europe for over 2,000 years, making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the World.
At the convergence point of widely varying cultures and empires, Kashgar has been under the rule of the Chinese, Turkic, Mongol and Tibetan empires. The city has also been the site of a number of battles between various groups of people on the steppes.
Now administered as a county-level unit, Kashgar is the administrative center of Kashgar Prefecture, which has an area of 162,000 km2 (63,000 sq mi) and a population of approximately 4 million as of 2010. The city itself has a population of 506,640, and its urban area covers 15 km2 (5.8 sq mi), though its administrative area extends over 555 km2 (214 sq mi). The city was made into a Special Economic Zone in 2010, the only city in western China with this distinction. Kashgar also forms a terminus of the Karakoram Highway, whose reconstruction is considered a major part of the multibillion-dollar China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.
