a MESMERIZING SURPRISE in Ajijic, Mexico!

I was expecting a fun and leisurely day in this charming Mexican lake town called Ajijic, but then this happened... (bonus: my first ???? ukulele/singing ???? debut)
❁❁Please subscribe❁❁

Recently, I've been house hunting in Mexico, looking for the perfect home to buy. After viewing a few options in Queretaro (my former home of 1 year), I decided to check out Ajijic at Lake Chapala because I lived here for about 4 months back in 2018 and really enjoyed my time here.

Ajijic, Jalisco is known for having one of the largest communities of foreigners in Mexico. Hundreds of Americans and Canadians flock here every year. That's a selling feature for some and a turn-off for others. In any case, Ajijic certainly has lots of small-town charm with it's cobblestone streets, pleasant weather year-round, beautiful nature, and diverse restaurant scene.

In today's Mexico vlog, I am spending a day in Ajijic to try and decide whether this town is somewhere I'd like to live and/or buy a home! What do you think?

Lake Chapala Mexico (WHAT TO EXPECT)

Lake Chapala Mexico is referred to as the best place to retire in Mexico. But Lake Chapala, Lago de Chapala, is much more than the best place to move to in Mexico. Lake Chapala is home to many cities, like Chapala where we are going to be exploring Lake Chapala from today.

In this Mexico travel vlog, we The Country Collectors, are going to show you what to do in Chapala, que hacer en el Lago de Chapala, and on Lake Chapala. Lake Chapala Jalisco Mexico is Mexico’s largest lake and in Chapala you can walk along the Chapala Malecon and admire Lago de Chapala from its shores. You can also take a boat trip in Chapala to Isla de las Alacranes, or Scorpion Island. On Sundays in Chapala Mexico you will find a big party down in Chapala on the Chapala Malecon - it’s a great day to visit Lake Chapala Mexico.

We hope you enjoy this Mexico Vlog, Travel vlog and are learning and experiencing a lot through our Mexico travel videos. We think Lake Chapala Mexico is worth a visit and makes for the best day trip from Guadalajara.

THIS EXPAT HOTSPOT was NOT what we EXPECTED! (Ajijic Mexico)

Use this link to save 55% on the annual plan for LingoPie:

After a few days in what we think will be Mexico's NEXT expat hotspot, we ventured out of the city to visit what may be Mexico's most popular place for expats from the United States and Canada: Ajijic Mexico.

We were shocked by the number of expats in this area! While it was a beautiful place with lots of amenities that will appeal to retirees, it wasn't at all what we expected.

About Courtney:
Hey friend, I'm a travel content creator from Chicago, USA. Six years ago, I quit my 9-5 to travel the world...and never went back to my job. This year I flew home from South Korea, ended things with my long-term partner, and realized I was gay. So, here we are - making videos about being gay and documenting the journey to figuring shit out. Thanks for liking, subscribing and joining the fun. Ajijic Mexico: Walking Tour | Pueblo Magico | Solo Traveler | Why is Everyone Moving to Ajijic?

Welcome to our channel! In June 2022, we booked a one-way flight from Dallas, TX to Guadalajara, Mexico, and set out to travel and explore.

Come with me as we explore, seeing new places via slow travel and fast travel! We dive in to locate off-the-beaten-path and uncommon destinations. Why? Cause now's the time. I have been a solo traveler for a long while, traveled to 41 states in the USA and 8 countries and there are so many more to see. I love experiencing new cultures, learning new things, and creating new friendships along the way.

Currently based in Ajijic, Lake Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. Come along as we travel to see the breathtaking scenery, travel off-beaten paths, see the sights, and enjoy nature paths.
