1. Christ the King, Poland
Christ the King statue in Świebodzin, Poland is 52.5 meters (172 feet) and is considered the tallest statue of Jesus in the world, including the mound and crown. It was completed in 2010, built by a Polish priest Sylwester Zawadski, with a cost of over USD 1.4 million of donations from the locals.
2. Christ the King, Portugal
Inspired by Rio’s Christ the Redeemer statue, Christ the King was built between the years 1959 – 1969 in Lisbon, Portugal. It was a symbol of gratitude by the Portuguese, for being largely untroubled during the Second World War. The statue itself is just about 25 meters tall, but stands on a 269-feet tall pedestal on a cliff over the Tagus river, and this makes it the tallest monument of Jesus in the world.
3. Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro
Everyone knows this iconic statue of Jesus towering over Rio in Brazil. The 30-meter was constructed between 1922 and 1931 and is now one of the seven wonders of the world and probably the most famous monument of Jesus in the world. However, it is just the 5th biggest statue of Jesus Christ in the world, with a height of 30 meters (98 feet – not including its 8-meter or 26-feet pedestal). The arms of the statue are spread wide, spanning a distance of 28 meters (92 feet). It has lightning rods on the arms, head and hands because it is hit by lightning 12 times every summer on the average.
4 . Cristo de la Concordia, Cochabamba, Bolivia
The second largest statue of Jesus in the world, Cristo de la Concordia (Christ of Peace) stands at a height of 33 meters — one for every year of Christ’s life — and is just a few centimeters higher than the Christ Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. To reach the statue, visitors have to climb 2,000 steps up the hill, and on Sundays, visitors can climb to the arms of the statue for breathtaking views.
5 . Christ of the Abyss, Key Largo, Florida
Christ of the Abyss is a 2.6 meter submerged bronze statue of Jesus Christ in Florida and is just one of three created by the Italian artist Guido Galletti who designed it. It is held in place by a 9-ton concrete base and was submerged in 1965. It is a highlight for swimmers, scuba divers and the local glass-bottom boat tours.
6. Cristo Rey, Colombia
Built in 1953, the Cristo Rey is a statue 26 meters tall in the Cerro de los Cristales in the village of Los Andes, west of the city of Cali, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. It is located on top of a large mountain in the city and only fit visitors can climb to the top to get a taste of the panoramic views it brings. Others will have to hire a cab if they desire to reach the top.
7. Monument to the Divine Savior of the World, El Salvador
Built in 1942, this monument has Jesus standing on Earth, which is on top of a tall concrete base. It is located in San Salvador City in El Salvador. It was damaged to some extent in an earthquake in 1986 but was repainted and restored in 2010.
8. Jesus de greatest, Imo state, Nigeria
Imo state in Nigeria is known for its grand gestures using statues. After a 43-year-old businessman, Obinna Onuoha, had a dream in 1997 to build a giant statue of Jesus, the ‘tallest statue of Jesus in Africa’ commenced construction in 2013. Unveiled three years later, the statue stands in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Abajah village in Imo state. Made of white marble, the statue stands at 8.53 metres (28.0 ft) tall and weighs 40 tons. It is the tallest statue of Jesus in Africa and one of the tallest statues in Africa.
9. Christ of Vũng Tàu, Vietnam
This huge statue of Jesus began construction in 1974 and was completed in 1993. It is 32 metres (105 ft) high and standing on a 4 metres (13 ft) high platform, making it a total of 36 metres (118 ft). The arms outstretched to a total of 18.3 metres (60 ft). One impressive thing is that it has an internal 133-step staircase allowing visitors to climb inside.
10. Christ the Redeemer of the Andes, Chile – Argentina border
A sign of peace, Christ the Redeemer is located right on the border of Chile and Argentina and was unveiled in 1904 to mark the peaceful resolution of a border dispute between the two countries.

History of the Statue of Christ the King
The figure of Christ the King in Świebodzin is not only an icon of the city, but also an important religious symbol. It was created thanks to the efforts of residents and clergy in 2006-2010. It is the tallest statue of Jesus in the world, reaching an impressive 36 meters. Thanks to him, Świebodzin has become a destination for pilgrimages and tourists from all over the world.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the Statue of Christ the King is that it can be admired from the air, thanks to drones. Thanks to this, completely new possibilities of observing this impressive monument open up. Drones allow us to look at the Figure from different angles and move far enough away to capture it in its full glory.
The figure of Christ the King is an example of perfect sculpture and architecture. Its creator, Mirosław Patecki, took care of every detail to reflect the beauty and majesty of Christ. Monument of Christ the King) is a statue of Jesus Christ in Świebodzin, western Poland, completed on 6 November 2010. The figure is 33 metres (108 ft) tall, the crown is 3 metres (9.8 ft) tall, and along with its mound, it reaches 52.5 metres (172 ft) overall.

W dzisiejszym odcinku odwiedzam miasto Świebodzin. Czy wiecie, gdzie znajduje się najwyższy na świecie pomnik Chrystusa Króla?
Do niedawna to właśnie pomnik w Świebodzinie mierzący 36 metrów był
najwyższy na świecie. Coś co mamy na wyciągnięcie ręki, pomnik znajdujący się w województwie lubuskim, którego nie da się nie zauważyć. Jest widoczny z daleka między innymi z dróg krajowych 2 i 3. Całość waży 15 ton, a sama korona ma 3 metry wysokości i w całości jest pozłocona. Obecnie jednak w Encantado, Brazylia powstała najwyższa figura Jezusa Chrystusa, gdzie sam pomnik mierzy 37,5 metra, a wraz z cokołem 43 metry. To druga słynna figura Jezusa Chrystusatuż obok chyba najbardziej znanej na całym świecie w Rio de Janeiro.
Ale jak przebiegł mój cały wyjazd: wyjechałem o 02:00 w piątek, aby dotrzeć do Świebodzina na 09:30. Tak jak już wcześniej wspomniałem pomnik można było oglądać już na trasie. Jednak jako pierwsze odwiedziłem Muzeum Regionalne, w której znajduje się ratusz miasta. A tuż obok jest kościół pw. św. Michała Archanioła. To rzymskokatolicki kościół parafialny. Następnie udałem się do znajdującej się w drodze do pomnika katolickiej świątyni - Sanktuarium Miłosierdzia Bożego. I jako czwatą atrakcję turystyczną tego miasta odwiedziłem opisywany wcześniej Pomnik Chrystusa Króla. A jest to miejsce naprawdę wartę odwiedzenia chociaż raz w życiu.

Do you know where the tallest statue of Christ the King in the world is located?
Until recently, this was the 36-meter monument in Świebodzin
tallest in the world. Something we have at our fingertips, the monument is located in the Lubuskie voivodship, which is impossible to miss. It is visible away from the national roads 2 and 3. The whole weighs 15 tons, and the crown itselfit is 3 meters high and is entirely gilded. Now, however, in the Encantado, Brazil built the tallest statue of Jesus Christ where the statue itself measures 37.5 meters, and with the plinth 43 meters. This is the second famous figure of Jesus Christ right next to probably the most famous in the world in Rio de Janeiro. But how was it for the entire trip: I left at 02:00 on Friday to arrive in Świebodzin at 09:30. As I mentioned before, the monument could already be seen on the route. But
I was the first to visit the Regional Museum, which houses the city hall. And right there next to it is the church of st. Michael the Archangel. This is a Roman Catholic parish church. Then I went to the Catholic monument on the way to it temple - Sanctuary of Divine Mercy. And as the fourth tourist attraction of it In the city, I visited the Monument of Christ the King described earlier. This is the place really worth visiting at least once in your life.

Discover with us the most amazing things to do in Poznań & Top Poznań attractions. Poznań belongs to the oldest and most picturesque cities of Poland. You will fall in love with its old town where you can find historic sites, colorful buildings, restaurants, and fountains.
On the Market Square you will find a remarkable Renaissance town hall built in the early 14th century. Later in the 16th century, the hall was extended by a clock with mechanical goats, which pop out to butt their heads at noon every day. If you do not make it on time, you can see similar goats inside the Town Hall.
When you sit yourself in one of cafes and restaurants on the Market Square, taste St. Martin's croissant. This traditional baked local pastry filled with white poppy seed-almond filling is delicious.
If you love flowers and gardens, visit a hundred years old Poznań Palm House situated in Wilson Park. You can admire about 700 species of exotic plants and fish.
Do not miss the 20th century Imperial Castle, the last imperial residence built in Europe. Today it houses several exhibitions, cinema, and a theatre for children.
Only an hour away from Poznań there is the world`s second largest statue of Jesus Christ called Christ the King situated in Świebodzin. This 33-meter-tall white statue with the 3-meter golden crown on its head is proudly towering over the lovely countryside.
Another worthwhile attraction is the 14th century Kornik Castle, located only 30 minutes from Poznań. Built as the defensive structure surrounded by a moat, it was redesigned in the 19th century in neo-gothic style. Today it houses a museum with an impressive collection of artwork and many unique exhibits which include also the library and furniture.

Video taken in the summer of 2011. It presents the highway view of Christ the King Statue, a giant statue of a crowned Jesus Christ, located on a hill on the outskirts of Swiebodzin in Poland. The statue was built on a 16.5 metre embankment of stones and rubble. Christ the King has a height of 33 metres, symbolising a traditional belief that Jesus' age at his death was 33. The Crown of the temple is 3.5 metres in diameter and 2 m in height, and the whole is gilded. The head is 4.5 m tall and weighs 15 tons. Each hand is 6 m in length and the distance between the ends of the fingers is 24 metres. It is composed of concrete and fibreglass. It is claimed to be the tallest statue of Jesus in the world, although it remains smaller than that of Cristo de la Concordia in Cochabamba, Bolivia if the statue's crown is not counted. It is 3 meters taller than the better known statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, standing at 30.1 metres (99 ft) tall without its pedestal.
