About Riga: Riga is the capital of Latvia and is home to 627,487 inhabitants (2020), which is a third of Latvias population. Being significantly larger than other cities of Latvia, Riga is the countrys primate city. Ar vairākām aizraujošām spēlēm noslēdzies Aizkraukle novada telpu futbola čempionāta 2. posms. Tajā vislabāk veicis vienībām “Poila” un FC “Rastafari”, bet turnīra vadībā izvirzījusies “Poila”.
20. februārī Kokneses sporta centrā norisinājās čempionāta 2. posms, kurā tika aizvadītas 7 aizraujošas spēles, kurās fiksēti arī negaidīti rezultāti. Piemēram, “Poila” izcīnījusi negaidīti pārliecinošu uzvaru pār Skrīveru futbolistiem. Īstu trilleri sarīkoja Skrīveru un Kokneses sporta centra komandas – līdz pat spēles beigu signālam spēle bija emocionāla un rezultāts izšķīrās tikai pēdējās minūtēs.
Pēc nospēlētiem 2 posmiem turnīra tabulas augšpusē ar 10 punktiem ir komanda “Poila”, viņiem uz papēžiem min Madonas komanda (9 punkti). Trešajā vietā – Kokneses sporta centrs (7 punkti), bet ar 6 punktus ieguvušas komandas “Skrīveri” un FC “Rastafari”. Turnīra tabulu noslēdz komanda “Cikos fināls?” ar 3 punktiem un FK “Veina” ar 0 punktiem.
Izšķirošās turnīra spēles paredzētas 27. februārī Kokneses sporta centrā, kad katra komanda aizvadīs pēdējās divas spēles. Pēc tām būs skaidrs, kura komanda noslēgs turnīru un kuras dosies tālāk uz play-off. Atgādinām, ka regulārā turnīra pirmās divas komandas automātiski iekļūs pusfinālā, bet 3. līdz 6. vietas ieguvēji izspēlēs ceturtdaļfināla spēles.
Rezultatīvākais spēlētājs joprojām ir Ilmārs Kalniņš, kurš četros mačos guvis 6 vārtus. Par vieniem vārtiem mazāk tikpat spēlēs ir Mārcim Rūtiņam no “Poilas”. Savukārt trešais labākais spēlētājs šobrīd ir “Poilas” futbolists Rolands Prohorovs, kurš četrās spēlēs guvis četrus vārtus.

Ogre Municipality - a place for a fresh start

In the middle of Latvia near its capital city Riga lies Ogre Municipality. There is nature arround every corner. And people love to engage in sporting activities and explore new horizons.
Ogre Municipality is place, where meet someone. Maybe that one casual encounter will lead to unexpected adventures.
Ogre Municipality boasts the pine-surrounded and well-kept city of Ogre, where modern technologies are widely used for the convenience of residents and visitors. Lielvārde town is known throughout Latvia for its rich cultural heritage, which can be explored in the Andrejs Pumpurs’ Lielvārde Museum and the Lielvārde Park with the ruins of a medieval castle, whereas the name of Ikšķile associates with the beginnings of Christianity in Latvia - the ruins of the oldest stone building in the Baltics can still be seen on St. Meinard’s Island. Ķegums, in its turn, is connected with the beginnings of Latvia's unified electricity supply. A visit to the Energy Museum will provide anyone with new knowledge about the history and development of Latvia's energy sector. But the rural territory of Ogre Municipality with its beautiful landscapes, diverse forests, vast meadows and the meanders of the Ogre River attracts nature lovers.

Riga is Latvia's capital and sits on the Baltic Sea. I will be the first to admit that Latvia was not high on my travel list, but after hearing it come up so often in travel groups, I had to visit to see what all the fuss was about. Although I only had 48 hours to explore Riga, it quickly became one of my favorite European cities!
While in Riga, I tried to squeeze in as much as possible. I spent a large portion of my time in Old Town Riga where I soaked up amazing panoramic views of Riga from St. Peter's Church, marveled at the architectural design of the House of the Blackheads, the Cat House, and the Three Brothers. Sampled delicious food at the Riga Central Market and LIDO. Added perk? The public transportation system is incredibly easy to navigate in Riga, and I never had to call an Uber the entire time I was there.

We are going on a sporty 9 km hike through the forest. Watch our family's adventures in nature in the forests of Latvia. The unmarked forest nature trail created by the Latvian state forests is quite mountainous, the next day it was felt by our feet. We watched as nature woke up from winter sleep, tasted and enjoyed the forest with all five senses. We ate rabbit cabbage and participated in the rescue mission Snail. Watch this and other adventures of us walking along forest trails.
