This time we stayed in Česká Kamenice and walked around in the evening.
The small town was a German-speaking area for hundreds of years. In 1919 it became part of Czechoslovakia. From 1938 to 1945 it was part of Nazi Germany, and then after World War 2 it became part of Czechoslovakia again. Today it is located in the north-west of the Czech Republic.

Doksy jsou jedním z nejvyhledávanějších rekreačních středisek u nás. důvodů může být hned několik. Město leží na břehu Máchova jezera, na dohled je hrad Bezděz a přímo ve městě je renesanční zámek nebo Muzeum Čtyřlístku.
Na březích řeky Ploučnice stojí obec, která je již od roku 1505 městem. najdete ji na železniční trati z Liberce do České Lípy. Když už budovy neponičil požár, jako ten roku 1806, kdy shořelo 283 domů, tak neodolaly zubu času. Zmizel nejen zámek, ale i radnice.
Ve městě, které se do roku 1946 jmenovalo Vartenberk, dnes žije asi č tisíce obyvatel. Město je nepochybně známé tím, že tu židlí státní podnik Diamo, že tu mají věznici, vodní nádrž nebo chcete-li horecký rybník a zámek. Původně hrad v roce 1987 vyhořel a je v podstatě nepřístupný.
Na silnici mezi Libercem a Děčínem leží 4 a půl tisícové město Cvikov. nechybí tu pobočky bank, obchodních řetězců, škola i kostel. Město je nepochybně známé i proto, že došlo k obnovení provozu pivovaru.
Bývalé pustevny, kostel, terasy a další objekty jsou dnes již neodmyslitelnou součástí skalního hradu Sloup, který se nachází ve výšce 30 metrů nad silnicí směřující do stejnojmenné obce.
Nový Bor bychom mohli nazvat městem sklářství. Působily zde desítky firem, které se zabývaly výrobou nebo prodejem skla. O tom se můžete přesvědčit ve zdejším muzeu. Město nežije jen minulostí i tady nechybí řada obchodních řetězců. Cyklisté mohou využít řadu cyklostezek.
Na pomezí Českého Středohoří a Lužických hor leží Kamenický Šenov. Na začátku 20. století byl vyhledávaným letoviskem. Když už zde budete, můžete třeba navštívit Sklářské muzeum, projít se kolem barokního kostela a určitě nesmíte zapomenout na národní přírodní památku Panskou skálu.
Panský dům Koruna je dnes sídlem městského úřadu. Náměstí není zajímavé jen svým čtvercovým tvarem, ale především pak kašnou z roku 1536.
V těsné blízkosti Žandova je obec Horní Police. Samotnou obec byste možná minuli, ale to byla škoda, protože byste neviděli zdejší zámek ze 17. století. Část zrekonstruovaných prostor dnes slouží jako galerie.
80 kilometrů severně od Prahy se rozprostírá město Česká Lípa. Za svoji současnou podobu může město vděčit nejen Ronovcům, pánům z Dubé, Albrechtovi z Valdštejna, ale také dvěma velkým požárům v 18. a 19. století, rozvoji průmyslu a těžbě uranu ve století 20-tém.
Nejznámější dominantou obce Zahrádky je nepochybně zámek, jehož útrobách téměř 20 let učila Univerzita Karlova zahraniční studenty česky. Milovníci přírody jistě uvítají možnost procházky po naučné stezce Údolím pekla nebo se projít touto Valdštejnskou alejí, která byla založena již v 17. století.

The Edmund's Gorge (Czech: Soutěsky Kamenice, German: Kamnitzklamm or German: Edmundsklamm) is a rocky ravine between Hřensko (Herrnskretschen), Mezná and Srbská Kamenice in Bohemian Switzerland in the Czech Republic. The river Kamnitz flows through it and discharges near Hřensko into the Elbe.( )
Soutěsky Kamenice se nachází nedaleko Hřenska v Českém Švýcarsku. Jedná se o hluboké kaňony řeky Kamenice v kvádrových pískovcích. Ve směru toku Kamenice je nejdříve Ferdinandova soutěska, za Dolským mlýnem část zvaná Ve Strži, Divoká soutěska a Edmundova soutěska. Řeka zde protéká pod strmými skalami vysokými 50–90 m. Edmundovou a Divokou soutěskou prochází žlutá turistická značka, v neschůdných úsecích funguje převoz na pramicích. Die Kamnitzklamm, auch als Edmundsklamm bekannt, ist eine Felsenschlucht zwischen Hřensko (Herrnskretschen), Mezná und Srbská Kamenice in der Böhmischen Schweiz in Tschechien. Durch sie fließt die Kamnitz, die bei Hřensko in die Elbe mündet.

Przełom położony jest w północnych Czechach, na obszarze Parku Narodowego Czeska Szwajcaria (NP České Švýcarsko) na Wyżynie Dieczyńskiej (Děčínská vrchovina), wzdłuż dolnego biegu rzeki Kamenice, około 0,1 km na wschód od centrum miejscowości Hřensko w powiecie Děčín.
Jest to charakterystyczna naturalna formacja skalna w Szwajcarii Czeskiej o długości około 960 m i prawie pionowych ścianach o wysokości od 50 do 150 m. Przełom stanowi głęboka dolina rzeczna wyżłobiona erozyjną działalnością rzeki, w mezozoicznych warstwach kredowych piaskowców środkowego turonu. Pochyłe ściany skalne i dno doliny pokrywa gruz wapienny, a wzdłuż wodnego biegu rzeki układają się piaszczyste aluwialne osady. Powyżej, w kierunku górnego biegu rzeki znajduje się Divoká soutěska. Pomiędzy cieśninami Edmundova soutěska i Divoká soutěska wzdłuż rzeki, nad którą wznoszą się olbrzymie ściany i wieże z piaskowca, prowadzi droga. Przełom rzeki Kamenice stanowi jedną z wielu atrakcji turystycznych Czeskiej Szwajcarii.( )

One of the best-known attractions in Czech Switzerland are the gorges on the Kamenice River.
The landscape started to develop many millions of years ago at the bottom of an sea. When the sea receded it started to transform the landscape by natural processes that continue to this day. For a long time the area around the Kamenice River was hard to access and its mystery instead turned people away. It was not until the late 19 th century that the area was investigated and modified for the purposes of tourism.
Visitors can expect walks through romantic nature along the Kamenice River surrounded on both sides by a wall of high rocks. You will walk beneath rock ledges, through several tunnels and across narrow footbridges. Two sections of the trail are passable only by boat – Edmund Gorge (also known as Quiet Gorge) and Wild Gorge. A boat driven by human power carries us between rock formations and the ferryman acquaints us with the living and petrified denizens of the gorges.
Between the gorges you can expect a rest stop at a restaurant where you can cook a nice delicacy over an open fire.

On today's Сzech Republic 4k walk, we will go on a trip to the city Kutná Hora, which is 55 km from Prague to the east. This is a stunning city with a unique atmosphere!
Kutná Hora is a town of approximately 20,000 people in the Central Bohemia region. Thanks to silver mining, it was one of the most important Czech royal cities in the Middle Ages. Today, tourists visit it, and its essential urban conservation area is listed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. The dominant feature of the city and, at the same time, its most visited historical monument is the late Gothic jewel – the Church of St. Barbary, which is invoked as a helper in times of need, an intercessor for a good death, and the patroness of all those in dangerous occupations, especially miners.
This magnificent building testifies to the glory and wealth of the silver Kutná Hora and its creators' deep piety. Its monumentality will literally take your breath away. We recommend visiting it during the service or ordering a summer night tour, which will show you the temple after dark, shrouded in a mysterious cloak.
Near the church, you will find, for example, the Corpus Christi Chapel with an ossuary or another important monument, namely the Jesuit College, which houses the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region (GASK). Its collection and exhibition program focuses on the fine arts of the 20th and 21st centuries. But its adjacent gardens are also stunning, offering a zone of peace and relaxation, complete with soothing water features. They are perfect for the perfect relaxation of body and spirit. However, the children will not be bored either, to whom an entire gallery floor is dedicated to visual playrooms and the possibility of creating their own pictures. Little artists can thus fully express their creativity.
In the city, you will also find many lesser-known but exciting places and impressive buildings that should not escape your attention.
The earliest traces of silver were found there in10th century. Silver dinars were discovered between 982 and 995 in settlement of Malín, which is now a part of Kutná Hora. The town began in 1142 with the territory of Sedlec Abbey, the first Cistercian monastery in Bohemia. The Cistercian order based in the Sedlec Monastery was brought from the Imperial immediate Cistercian Waldsassen Abbey in Bavaria, Germany, close to the border with the Czech Republic. By 1260, German miners began to mine for silver in the mountain region, which they named Kuttenberg and part of the monastery property. The mountain's name is derived from the monks' cowls (the Kutten) or the word mining (kutání in old Czech).

Prague. Pravčická brána | Czech Republic #5
Finally, we visited Prague. We think there is nothing to say, everybody knows what it is and where it is. After city hustle and bustle we went to the unique place - Pravčická brána (Pravčická Archway). The biggest natural sandstone arch in Europe and the second one in the world. The arch is 16m high, total span of almost 27m, 7-8m wide. The view was really amazing! After that, we took a boat ride in the Kamenice gorge. It was another unique experience. That was an incredible day to finish our trip to the Czech Republic.
