Welcome to birthplace of democracy! Greece is one of the oldest and most influential civilizations in the world. I have visited three times and covered many destinations, From the mainland, to the islands. I've also sampled an array of foods, from seafood to hardy meats, wines and delicious cheeses. Here is my list of top 10 places to visit in Greece, a country unlike any other on earth.
1. Athens - Let's start with Athens, the capital of Greece and one of the oldest cities in the world.
2. Delphi - A two and a half hour drive from Athens brings you to what the ancient world considered both the spiritual and physical center of the universe.
3. Epidavros - A two-hour drive from Athens to eastern Peloponnese brings us to #3 on my list and one of the ancient world's most amazing civic structures: The Theatre of Epidavros.
4. Sounion - Number 4 on my list is the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion.
5. Rhodes Island - Rhodes is one of the largest of all the Greek islands.
6. Symi Island - An hour by ferryboat will bring you to the tiny but beautiful island of Symi.
7. Kos Island - Kos is home to the Asklepion, one of the world’s first healing centers, as well as the ancient tree under which Hippocrates taught his pupils.
8. Kalymnos Island - Traditionally known as the island of the sponge divers, Kalymians now enjoy living in one of Europe’s most illustrious rock climbing destinations.
9. Santorini Island - Its iconic blue and white houses and dramatic cliffs make it visually stunning at every turn.
10. Meteora - Meteora, which literally translates into ‘suspended in the air’ alluding to the medieval monasteries perched on top of rock pillars in this strange and beautiful landscape.

Tour of ARTA Bridge Greece ❤️???????? - γεφύρι της Άρτας
A video tour of ARTA’s famous bridge. The bridge is famous for its legend and poem which describes how the bridge collapsed at night and was rebuilt during the day. It is said that a bird with a human voice spoke to the Master builder and told him in order for the bridge to stand he would have to sacrifice his wife as an offering.
As they buried her in the foundations, she cursed the bridge and all that walked over it. She later changed the curse to a blessing when they told her that her brother crossed the bridge.
The bridge also served as the border of the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Greece after the Balkan wars, circa 1912-1913.

Άρτα η πανέμορφη Ηπειρώτικη πόλη | Arta the beautiful town in Epirus Greece
Θα μπορούσε κανείς να τη χαρακτηρίσει ως πόλη στολίδι της Ηπείρου με το φημισμένο πέτρινο γεφύρι, την πλούσια περιοχή του Αμβρακικού Κόλπου, τα ιστορικά και άλλα αξιοθέατά της. Μέσα στην πόλη υπάρχουν πολλές βυζαντινές εκκλησίες. Κάνουμε μια βόλτα στην πόλη και μετά επισκεπτόμαστε το αρχαιολογικό μουσείο. Τα ευρήματα προέρχονται όλα από την περιοχή της Άρτας και καλύπτουν μια μεγάλη περίοδο από την παλαιολιθική εποχή μέχρι τους Ρωμαϊκούς χρόνους.

English: - Arta is the second largest city in the Region of Epirus, Greece;
Trikala is one of the cities of Western Thessaly.
The total distance between these two cities is 148 Km.
In this series of videos, we're going to travel from Arta to Trikala via the old, and extremely scenic national road that connects these two cities.
We'll begin our journey a couple of kilometers east of Arta in order to avoid heavy traffic.
Along the road, we'll brave old mountain passes; take in the gorgeous views of the Pindos Mountain Range, cross over a massive dam, and some pretty impressive bridges, admire views that would normally belong to countries like Switzerland, and eventually arrive to Trikala via Pili Trikalon!!!
In this relaxing 19-minute drive video, we'll complete the first of the three parts of the journey from Arta to our first main stop: Vourgareli; one of the Tzoumerka Villages, nestled atop Tzoumerka (Athamanian Mountains).

Τα Τρίκαλα είναι μία από τις πόλεις της δυτικής Θεσσαλίας.
Η συνολική απόσταση μεταξύ των δύο αυτών πόλεων είναι 148 χλμ.
Σε αυτήν τη σειρά βίντεο, θα ταξιδέψουμε από την Άρτα ως τα Τρίκαλα μέσω της παλιάς και εξαιρετικά γραφικής εθνικής οδού που συνδέει της δύο πόλεις.
Θα ξεκινήσουμε το ταξίδι μας μόλις μερικά χιλιόμετρα ανατολικά της Άρτας ώστε να αποφύγουμε την πυκνή κυκλοφορία.
Κατά μήκος της διαδρομής, θα περάσουμε από παλιά ορεινά περάσματα, θα θαυμάσουμε τα εντυπωσιακά τοπία της Οροσειράς της Πίνδου, θα διασχίσουμε ένα τεράστιο φράγμα και μερικές εντυπωσιακές γέφυρες, θα θαυμάσουμε τοπία που θα μπορούσαν να είναι παρμένα από χώρες όπως η Ελβετία και τελικά θα φτάσουμε στα Τρίκαλα μέσω της Πύλης Τρικάλων!!!
Σε αυτήν τη χαλαρωτική διαδρομή 19 λεπτών, θα ολοκληρώσουμε το πρώτο από τα τρία μέρη του ταξιδιού από την Άρτα ως τον πρώτο μας βασικό σταθμό: το Βουργαρέλι, ένα από τα Τζουμερκοχώρια, που είναι χτισμένο στα Τζουμέρκα (Αθαμανικά Όρη).

In this relaxing 28-minute drive video, we will resume our journey in order to reach the Mesochora Dam and Mesochora Village in the Trikala Region.
This part is actually quite mountainous, and full of tunnels! In fact, I haven't seen so many tunnels in any other Greek road, save for the Epirus part of the Egnatia Odos; as for the road, it's in pretty bad shape, and in many parts, the tarmac was completely gone, so I was forced to drive on the left side of the road; luckily, traffic is scarce on this road.

Αυτό το κομμάτι είναι εξαιρετικά ορεινό και γεμάτο σήραγγες! Στην πραγματικότητα, δεν έχω ξαναδεί τόσες πολλές σήραγγες σε ελληνικό δρόμο, με εξαίρεση το ηπειρώτικο τμήμα της Εγνατίας Οδού. Όσο για τον ίδιο τον δρόμο, ήταν σε πολύ κακή κατάσταση και σε πολλά σημεία η άσφαλτος είχε αφαιρεθεί εντελώς, οπότε ήμουν αναγκασμένος να οδηγώ στην αριστερή πλευρά του δρόμου. Ευτυχώς, σε αυτόν τον δρόμο, η κίνηση είναι αρκετά αραιή.

In this relaxing 21-minute drive video, we will travel from the Vathirrema, or Vathirreuma village to the Stournareika village in the Trikala Region.
This part of the route is verdant and mountainous, and has a tunnel, but, luckily and all things considered, it is in pretty good shape.

Αυτό το κομμάτι της διαδρομής είναι κατάφυτο, ορεινό, κι έχει μία σήραγγα, ενώ, ευτυχώς και δεδομένης της τοποθεσίας και των συνθηκών, ο δρόμος είναι σε πολύ καλή κατάσταση.

English: - Arta is the second largest city in the Region of Epirus, Greece;
Trikala is one of the cities of Western Thessaly.
The total distance between these two cities is 148 Km.
We'll begin our journey a couple of kilometers east of Arta in order to avoid heavy traffic.
Along the road, we'll brave old mountain passes; take in the gorgeous views of the Pindos Mountain Range, cross over a massive dam, and some pretty impressive bridges, admire views that would normally belong to countries like Switzerland, and eventually arrive to Trikala via Pili Trikalon!!!
In this relaxing 21-minute drive video, we will travel from the Mesochora Village to the Vathirrema, or Vathirreuma village in the Trikala Region.
This part of the route is quite mountainous, and has a tunnel, but the road is in terrible shape, and in many parts, the tarmac was excessively damaged or full of rocks, so I was forced to drive on the left side of the road; also, it seems that cows are a frequent occurence on this part of the road, so one needs to be extra careful, but luckily, traffic is scarce.
Ελληνικά: - H Άρτα είναι η δεύτερη μεγαλύτερη πόλη της Περιφέρειας Ηπείρου.
Τα Τρίκαλα είναι μία από τις πόλεις της δυτικής Θεσσαλίας.
Η συνολική απόσταση μεταξύ των δύο αυτών πόλεων είναι 148 χλμ.
Θα ξεκινήσουμε το ταξίδι μας μόλις μερικά χιλιόμετρα ανατολικά της Άρτας ώστε να αποφύγουμε την πυκνή κυκλοφορία.
Κατά μήκος της διαδρομής, θα περάσουμε από παλιά ορεινά περάσματα, θα θαυμάσουμε τα εντυπωσιακά τοπία της Οροσειράς της Πίνδου, θα διασχίσουμε ένα τεράστιο φράγμα και μερικές εντυπωσιακές γέφυρες, θα θαυμάσουμε τοπία που θα μπορούσαν να είναι παρμένα από χώρες όπως η Ελβετία και τελικά θα φτάσουμε στα Τρίκαλα μέσω της Πύλης Τρικάλων!!!
Σε αυτήν τη χαλαρωτική διαδρομή 21 λεπτών, ταξιδεύουμε από το χωριό Μεσοχώρα ως το χωριό Βαθύρρευμα ή Βαθύρρεμα, που βρίσκεται στην περιοχή των Τρικάλων.
Αυτό το κομμάτι της διαδρομής είναι ορεινό και έχει μία σήραγγα, αλλά ο δρόμος είναι σε άσχημη κατάσταση και σε πολλά σημεία η άσφαλτος έχει υποστεί εκτεταμένες ζημιές ή είναι γεμάτη βράχια, οπότε ήμουν αναγκασμένος να οδηγώ στην αριστερή πλευρά του δρόμου. Επίσης, φαίνεται ότι οι αγελάδες είναι συχνό θέαμα σε αυτό το κομμάτι της διαδρομής, οπότε απαιτείται ιδιαίτερη προσοχή από τους οδηγούς, αλλά ευτυχώς η κίνηση είναι αρκετά αραιή.
