Inside Mexico’s Craziest Market - WE WERE SHOCKED! (our first time in Mexico City) | CDMX, Mexico
We’ve made it to Mexico City! In this video, we are experiencing the market culture in Mexico City (CDMX). We started at, La Merced Market, which is one of the largest and most vibrant markets in Mexico City (CDMX). La Merced can be a bit overwhelming at first, with its labyrinthine streets and endless rows of stalls and vendors. But it's all part of the experience, and we quickly got swept up in the excitement and energy of the place. The market is a true feast for the senses, with the smells, sounds, and colors of Mexico all around you.
We then visited Mercado Sonora, which is a vibrant and bustling market located right next to La Merced. You can find a wide variety of products, from traditional Mexican crafts and souvenirs to exotic herbs, spices, and potions used in traditional folk medicine.
After visiting Mercado Sonora, we continued our exploration of Mexico City by checking out some local establishments. We stopped at a pulqueria, which is a traditional Mexican bar that specializes in pulque, a fermented beverage made from the sap of the agave plant. Next, we visited a cantina, which is another type of traditional Mexican bar. Finally, we took a leisurely stroll around the old town of Mexico City, soaking up the rich history and vibrant culture of the area.

Mexico, officially the United Mexican States, is a country in the southern portion of North America. It is bordered to the north by the United States; to the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; to the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and to the east by the Gulf of Mexico.
Mexico is one of the chief economic and political forces in Latin America. It has a dynamic industrial base, vast mineral resources, a wide-ranging service sector, and the world’s largest population of Spanish speakers—about two and a half times that of Spain or Colombia. As its official name suggests, the Estados Unidos Mexicanos (United Mexican States) incorporates 31 socially and physically diverse states and the Federal District.

Religion: Christians, mainly Roman Catholics (78%)
Mexico has the world's largest Spanish speaking population and Mexico is also the second most populous country in North America - after the USA.
The highest peak in Mexico is a volcano. It is called 'Pico de Orizaba' or 'Volcan Citlaltepetl' and is 5,636 m/ 18,491 ft high. This is also the third largest volcano in Northern America.
The longest river in Mexico is the Río Bravo del Norte (also referred to as Rio Grande). This river begins in the southwestern USA and flows into Mexico.
The largest lake in Mexico is Lake Chapala near Guadalajara.
The cardon cactus is the world's biggest cactus! The Mexican giant cactus measures up to 21 metres/ 70 feet in height and can be seen in the deserts of Baja California. These cacti can live up to 300 years.
Mexican warriors threw hornet nests at enemies.
In Mexico, struggling artists can pay taxes with their artwork.
In the 19th century, army officer Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna held a funeral for his severed leg.
