Join me as I walk around the top of Angkor Thom’s wall. In total, the walk is nearly 13km long and in this video I will show you ancient drainage structures, all five gates, the pursats at each corner and much more! This video is longer than usual - I hope you watch right to the end as I had such a great time filming this. It was a wonderful experience! I completed this walk in January 2023.

Từ biên giới Hà Tiên, Khoai đi thẳng đến chợ ghẹ Kep để tìm ăn hải sản, vì nơi đây nổi tiếng có ghẹ ngon. Tại đây Khoai gặp được nhiều cô chú bán trái cây, hải sản, món ngon dễ thương lắm. Nhưng mấu chốt chung vẫn nên là trả giá một chút. Từ Kep về Sihanoukville thật sự là rất khó đi, vì đường đất đỏ bụi mịt mù, nên nếu đi bằng xe máy thật sự nên cân nhắc. Đợt này mục tiêu của Khoai là đảo Koh Rong, nên hành trình du lịch ẩm thực Campuchia của chúng ta còn dài lắm.

Early this year, we made a trip out to Sihanoukville traveling on the newly built expressway which cuts travel time from five hours to two from Phnom Penh. We spent a night at the Sokha Beach Resort and we want to share how beautiful this place is.

Walkthrough the Angkor Thom Southern Gate , Siem Reap. Cambodia.
Angkor Thom located in present-day Cambodia, was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer Empire. It was established in the late twelfth century by King Jayavarman VII . It covers an area of 9 km², within which are located several monuments from earlier eras as well as those established by Jayavarman and his successors. At the centre of the city is Jayavarman's state temple, the Bayon, with the other major sites clustered around the Victory Square immediately to the north. The site is one of the major tourist attractions of southeast Asia.
Angkor Thom was established as the capital of Jayavarman VII's empire, and was the centre of his massive building program. One inscription found in the city refers to Jayavarman as the groom and the city as his bride.
Angkor Thom seems not to be the first Khmer capital on the site, however. Yasodharapura, dating from three centuries earlier, was centred slightly further northwest, and Angkor Thom overlapped parts of it. The most notable earlier temples within the city are the former state temple of Baphuon, and Phimeanakas, which was incorporated into the Royal Palace. The Khmers did not draw any clear distinctions between Angkor Thom and Yashodharapura: even in the fourteenth century an inscription used the earlier name. The name of Angkor Thom—great city—was in use from the 16th century.
The last temple known to have been constructed in Angkor Thom was Mangalartha, which was dedicated in 1295. Thereafter the existing structures continued to be modified from time to time, but any new creations were in perishable materials and have not survived.
The Ayutthaya Kingdom, led by King Borommarachathirat II, sacked Angkor Thom, forcing the Khmers under Ponhea Yat to relocate their capital southeast to Phnom Penh.
