Saint Lucia Drone Flight: Saint Lucia is an Eastern Caribbean island nation with a pair of dramatically tapered mountains, the Pitons, on its west coast. Its coast is home to volcanic beaches, reef-diving sites, luxury resorts and fishing villages. About Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia is a sovereign island country in the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean. The island was previously called Iyonola, the name given to the island by the native Arawaks and later, Hewanorra, the name given by the native Caribs, two separate Amerindian peoples. Part of the Lesser Antilles, it is located north/northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique. It covers a land area of 617 km2 (238 square miles) and reported a population of 165,595 in the 2010 census. Its capital is Castries. The French were the first Europeans to settle on the island. They signed a treaty with the native Island Caribs in 1660. England took control of the island from 1663 to 1667. In ensuing years, it was at war with France fourteen times, and the rule of the island changed frequently (it was ruled seven times each by the French and British). In 1814, the British took definitive control of the island. Because it switched so often between British and French control, Saint Lucia was also known as the Helen of the West Indies after the Greek mythological character, Helen of Troy. Representative government came about in 1840 (universal suffrage was established in 1953). From 1958 to 1962, the island was a member of the West Indies Federation. On 22 February 1979, Saint Lucia became an independent state and a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. Saint Lucia is a mixed jurisdiction, meaning that it has a legal system based in part on both the civil law and English common law. The Civil Code of St. Lucia of 1867 was based on the Quebec Civil Code of 1866, as supplemented by English common law-style legislation. Saint Lucia is the ultimate honeymoon destination. It has the most beautiful nature and is the absolute highlight in the middle of the Caribbean. There is also plenty to do for backpackers and traveling families. In this video I show you why every traveler should visit Saint Lucia at least once: it's just a place that can hardly be beat!
After Saint Lucia we visit many more gems in the Caribbean. Whether they will match with Saint Lucia remains to be seen! With the best views of the gigantic pitons, overnight stays in tree houses in the middle of the jungle and the most beautiful snow-white beaches, Saint Lucia is high on the list of the most beautiful islands in the world. We sleep in Soufrière, visit the Diamond Waterfalls, hike the Tet Paul Nature Trail and visit the beaches Anse Chastanet, Sugar Beach and Jalousie Plantation Beach. From the west, we drive our small jeep through the rainforest to the south and east, before relaxing at an all-inclusive resort in the north.
This year we travel all over the world and after the Canary Islands, Oman, Cape Verde and Martinique, Saint Lucia is our fifth destination. Follow us on this world tour, first in the Caribbean and then to many more beautiful destinations! We travel non-stop all year round and film everything. Saint Kitts and Nevis Drone Flight: Saint Kitts and Nevis is a dual-island nation situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Its known for cloud-shrouded mountains and beaches. Many of its former sugar plantations are now inns or atmospheric ruins. The larger of the 2 islands, Saint Kitts, is dominated by the dormant Mount Liamuiga volcano, home to a crater lake, green vervet monkeys and rainforest crisscrossed with hiking trails. Saint Kittss Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park is a well-preserved colonial-era military fortress, with cannons pointed toward the Caribbean Sea. At Frigate Bay, on the islands Atlantic coast, lies a crescent beach thats a popular swimming spot. In the channel between Saint Kitts and Nevis, scuba divers explore Booby Island, with its numerous jackfish and snapper. Theres hiking through Nevis Peaks cloud forest, which has views all the way to nearby Montserrat. On northern Nevis, Pinneys Beach draws snorkellers to see its black coral and parrotfish. // Basseterre is the capital of the Caribbean island federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Its the gateway to popular Saint Kitts beaches like South Friars Bay. At the citys heart, Independence Square has an Italian-inspired fountain. Just off the Circus traffic circle, with its Victorian Berkeley Memorial Clock Tower, is the National Museum. In the stately Old Treasury Building, it explores the islands colonial past. Suriname Drone Flight: Suriname is a small country on the northeastern coast of South America. Its defined by vast swaths of tropical rainforest, Dutch colonial architecture and a melting-pot culture. On its Atlantic coast is the capital, Paramaribo, where palm gardens grow near Fort Zeelandia, a 17th-century trading post. Paramaribo is also home to Saint Peter and Paul Basilica, a towering wood cathedral consecrated in 1885. Along the coast are beaches, river estuaries and Nieuw Amsterdam, a town known for its star-shaped fort and open-air museum, the Fort Nieuw Amsterdam. Huge leatherback turtles nest at Galibi Nature Reserve, while the Coppename Nature Preserve shelters manatees. The Bigi Pan wetlands are home to caimans and birds, including the brightly hued scarlet ibis. Inland, the Central Suriname Nature Reserve encompasses tropical forest with jaguars and spider monkeys. Adjoining reserves include Voltzberg and Raleigh Falls, known for its waterfalls, and Brownsberg Nature Park, which offers fishing and boating trips on the Brokopondo Reservoir. // Paramaribo is the capital city of Suriname on the banks of the Suriname River. Its known for ornate wooden Dutch colonial buildings in its center. On the banks of the river, the 17th-century Fort Zeelandia houses the Surinaams Museum, with exhibits on the regions history. Also in town is the massive Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral, a highly decorative wooden basilica. The grand white Neveh Shalom Synagogue features arched windows, large columns out front and a sand floor inside. The Mosque Keizerstraat stands next door. On the waterfront, the lively Central Market has sections specializing in fresh produce, clothes and unusual items such as bones and feathers for traditional medicines. Dominica Drone Flight: Dominica is a mountainous Caribbean island nation with natural hot springs and tropical rainforests. Morne Trois Pitons National Park is home to the volcanically heated, steam-covered Boiling Lake. The park also encompasses sulphur vents, the 65m-tall Trafalgar Falls and narrow Titou Gorge. To the west is Dominicas capital, Roseau, with colorful timber houses and botanic gardens. Down the coast is Champagne Reef, a snorkeling destination where gas bubbles emerge from the shallow sea floor. About Saint Lucia: Saint Lucia is a sovereign island country in the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean. The island was previously called Iyonola, the name given to the island by the native Arawaks and later, Hewanorra, the name given by the native Caribs, two separate Amerindian peoples. Part of the Lesser Antilles, it is located north/northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique. St. Lucia: A Breathtaking MUST SEE Island! (Drone Video + GoPro Hero7)
For Christmas 2018, My Girlfriend and I took a plane to the breathtaking island of St. Lucia. I made sure to bring my GoPro Hero 7, DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Canon DSLR to capture all of the gorgeous island. We stayed at a St. Lucia Resort, and for the most part had amazing weather. One day we rented a car and drove to Sugar Beach, St. Lucia where I got some killer shots.
The island is relatively small and can be traveled around in approximately 5 hours. The pitons are the most spectacular part of this beautiful island, as they come shooting out from the sea. Checked out Rodney Bay, Marigot Bay and a few more.
