Svalbard and Jan Mayen Drone Flight: Longyearbyen is a small coal-mining town on Spitsbergen Island, in Norways Svalbard archipelago. This Arctic town is known for its views of the Northern Lights. The modern Svalbard Museum chronicles the regions natural and cultural history. It includes a stuffed polar bear. Live bears can occasionally be seen in the area. The North Pole Expeditions Museum recounts early efforts to reach the pole by air. Longyearbyen is on Adventfjorden Bay, which can be crossed by boat to reach Hiorthfjellet Mountains trails. Nearby, the Gruve 3 coal mine depicts Svalbards mining history. The underground Svalbard Global Seed Vault preserves backups of the worlds seeds in the name of food security. Husky-dog sleds and snowmobiles set off from Longyearbyen for trips farther afield to places like Isfjord Radio, a former transmission station with views overlooking the Arctic Ocean. Boat trips with fishing are also possible, reaching destinations like the walrus colony on the island of Prins Karls Forland. [wikipedia // Google]

Svalbard is one of the most interesting places I have ever visited. It is incredibly stark and harsh, but so beautiful. Teeming with life ranging from polar bears to arctic foxes, there are so many things to see. It's a place that as soon as you leave, you long to go back. Situated in the most northern part of Norway. Longyearbyen is the north most town in the world.

Svalbard - 4K
When you are inn Svalbard you feel living in a dream, a real arctic adventure. In a landscape characterized by tundra, snowfall, glaciers, extreme light variations and an exciting wildlife everyday experiences that hardly exist in the world.
Longyearbyen, the largest town on the Norwegian islands of Svalbard.
At 78 degrees North, it lies just 800 miles or 1300 kilometres from the North Pole. And with over 2,500 permanent inhabitants it is the Northernmost real town on Earth.
There are only 50km of road, including the small streets between houses, so people get around the island mainly on snowmobile.
All those clips are from Svalbard (most of the clips are from Longyearbyen, Pyramiden ) and this was filmed in April. 2019.

Svalbard | Arctic Foxes at 78° North | Cinematic 4K
Together with the OlympusXplorers we traveled to the far north and went to Longyearbyen, Svalbard on the hunt to photograph and film Polar Bears. After a long search, including 12 hour rides on snow mobiles, we ended up finding arctic foxes! :)
It was a new experience to film in such cold temperatures like -30° C. Svalbard is no joke! I hope you enjoy the video, let me know about your ice cold trips :D

A video showcasing the best sights of a 23 day trip around the Norwegian archipelago Svalbard in the Arctic Ocean. While traveling on the G Adventures ship the G Expedition, we saw some incredible scenery, amazing animals, and had some beautiful weather.

In 2013, he was selected for the “International Masters of Photography“ project in Las Vegas which featured the top ranking photographers of the world. He is the only Slovak to receive such an honor. He has been awarded various international certifications, including the Master QEP title, which is the highest European award for professional photographers. Kulisev became the first photographer from Central and Eastern Europe to be awarded the highest qualification and title of Fellow from the British Institute of Professional Photographers in London. He was also selected as European Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2012. Svalbard (4k) North of mainland Europe
Svalbard Urban East Norwegian, also known as Spitsbergen, or Spitzbergen, is a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. North of mainland Europe, it is about midway between the northern coast of Norway and the North Pole. The islands of the group range from 74° to 81° north latitude, and from 10° to 35° east longitude. The largest island is Spitsbergen, followed by Nordaustlandet and Edgeøya. The largest settlement is Longyearbyen.
The islands were first used as a base by the whalers who sailed far north in the 17th and 18th centuries, after which they were abandoned. Coal mining started at the beginning of the 20th century, and several permanent communities were established. The Svalbard Treaty of 1920 recognizes Norwegian sovereignty, and the 1925 Svalbard Act made Svalbard a full part of the Kingdom of Norway. They also established Svalbard as a free economic zone and a demilitarized zone. The Norwegian Store Norske and the Russian Arktikugol remain the only mining companies in place. Research and tourism have become important supplementary industries, with the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) and the Svalbard Global Seed Vault playing critical roles in the economy.
