পদ্মনাভস্বামী মন্দিরের ঐশ্বর্যের ভাণ্ডারের কাছে হার মানে বিশ্বের সব মন্দির। এখানকার গোপন রত্নভাণ্ডারের একটি অংশ এখনও খোলা সম্ভব হয়নি। মানুষের বিশ্বাস ওই অংশ খোলার চেষ্টা করলে রুষ্ট হন ভগবান বিষ্ণু। তবে দেশের আইন মেনে যেটুকু অংশ খোলা হয়েছে তাতেই লোকের চোখ কপালে উঠেছে। নাস্তিকদের মতে, এখানকার অঢেল ঐশ্বর্য দেশের অর্থনীতি বদলে দিতে পারে। ধর্মবিশ্বাস বলে, এসব খুললেই পৃথিবীতে মহাপ্রলয় নেমে আসবে। পদ্মনাভস্বামী মন্দির নিয়ে এমন অনেক অলৌকিক বিশ্বাস ও মিথ আছে।
