Sikkim (/ˈsɪkɪm/; Nepali pronunciation: [ˈsikːim]) is a state in Northeastern India. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region of China in the north and northeast, Bhutan in the east, Province No. 1 of Nepal in the west and West Bengal in the south. Sikkim is also close to the Siliguri Corridor, which borders Bangladesh. Sikkim is the least populous and second smallest among the Indian states. Situated in the Eastern Himalaya, Sikkim is notable for its biodiversity, including alpine and subtropical climates, as well as being a host to Kangchenjunga, the highest peak in India and third highest on Earth. Sikkim's capital and largest city is Gangtok. Almost 35% of the state is covered by Khangchendzonga National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Kingdom of Sikkim was founded by the Namgyal dynasty in the 17th century. It was ruled by Buddhist priest-kings known as the Chogyal. It became a princely state of British India in 1890. Following Indian independence, Sikkim continued its protectorate status with the Union of India after 1947, and the Republic of India after 1950. It enjoyed the highest literacy rate and per capita income among Himalayan states. In 1973, anti-royalist riots took place in front of the Chogyal's palace. In 1975, after the Indian Army took over the city of Gangtok, a referendum was held that led to the dissolution of the monarchy and Sikkim joining India as its 22nd state.
Modern Sikkim is a multiethnic and multilingual Indian state. The official languages of the state are English, Nepali, Sikkimese and Lepcha.Additional official languages include Gurung, Limbu, Magar, Mukhia, Newari, Rai, Sherpa and Tamang for the purpose of preservation of culture and tradition in the state.[3] English is taught in schools and used in government documents. The predominant religions are Hinduism and Vajrayana Buddhism. Sikkim's economy is largely dependent on agriculture and tourism. As of 2019, the state had the fifth-smallest GDP among Indian states,[11] although it is also among the fastest-growing.
Sikkim accounts for the largest share of cardamom production in India, which is the world's second largest producer of the spice after Guatemala. Sikkim achieved its ambition to convert its agriculture to fully organic between 2003 and 2016, and became the first state in India to achieve this distinction. It is also among India's most environmentally conscious states, having banned plastic water bottles in any government functions and meetings and polystyrene products (throughout the state).

We reach Kathmandu by Biman Bangladesh flight from Dhaka. From Nepal Tribhuvan International Airport, we went through immigration with an on-arrival visa and went to our booked hotel. All the transport and hotel bookings for our complete 7 days 6 nights Nepal Tour were taken by Gateway Holidays package.
After reaching Thamel, we checked in at the Kathmandu Suite Home hotel and went out sightseeing in Kathmandu on the 1st day of our Nepal Tour. We visited two places in Kathmandu, Syambhunath Monkey Temple and Patan, Durbar Square. All these are here in this episode of my Nepal Tour Series.
Nepal is a surprisingly diverse country that attracts visitors for many reasons making Nepal very attractive for a tour in 2023. Some are lured by the call of the mountains and seeking to climb or trek in the Himalayas, others are intrigued by the culture and the famous city of Kathmandu, and yet others come hoping to find some sort of spiritual awakening on their Nepal Tour 2023. Nepal can be an adrenaline adventure, a cultural eye-opener, a life-changing experience, or all of the above.
Most travellers spend some time in Kathmandu visiting sacred and historic attractions and then head out to other parts of the country during their Nepal Tour. Some of the best places to stay outside the capital are Chitwan National Park and Bardiya National Park for wildlife viewing, and the lakeside town of Pokhara, a popular area for embarking on treks for a Nepal 2023 Tour.
Trekkers will find a variety of options across Nepal, with the most important areas being the Everest, Annapurna, and Langtang regions.
Kathmandu, the capital and largest city in Nepal, is like no other city in the world. The decaying buildings in the heart of the city are a stark contrast to the lively atmosphere that permeates the streets. The smell of incense wafts from stores while street sellers push their goods, and people go about their daily lives, all against a backdrop of historic temples and carved statues.
Set at the base of the foothills and surrounded by some of the highest mountains in the world – Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Annapurna I – Pokhara is one of Nepal's most scenic cities. For trekkers, Pokhara is the gateway to the Himalayas and the starting point for treks to Jomsom and the Annapurna region. It's also a wonderful spot to relax for a bit, either before or after a hiking trip.
Set on a hilltop to the west of Kathmandu, Swayambhunath is the second most important shrine in the Kathmandu Valley after Boudhanath. Due to the resident monkeys that inhabit parts of the temple, it is more affectionately known as the Monkey Temple.
The Swayambhu Stupa, painted with the eyes of the omnipresent god, forms the centrepiece of the temple complex. It was originally a prehistoric cult site, but the temple complex dates to the 5th century. Swayambhu plays a major part in the lives of the Vajrayana Buddhists of Northern Nepal and Tibet, but especially of the Newari Buddhists of the Kathmandu Valley.

সীমান্তের এই রাস্তা দিয়েই চীন ঢুকেছিল ভারতে । Bumla pass, China Border | Part-13
আজ আমি যাচ্ছি অরুণাচল প্রদেশের দিক থেকে 16000 হাজার ফুট উঁচুতে চীন সীমান্ত বুমলা পাস । এই সীমান্ত দিয়ে ১৯৬২ সালে চিনা সেনা ভারতবর্ষের ভেতরে ঢুকে পড়েছিল । আর এখান দিয়েই দলাই লামা তিব্বত থেকে চলে এসেছিলেন অরুণাচলের তাওয়াং এ । সেই একই রাস্তা দিয়েই আমিও যাচ্ছি চীন সীমান্ত বুমলা পাস । তবে এই রাস্তা আগে এতখানি মসৃণ ছিল না । তবে কেমন ছিল আগের সেই রাস্তা ? বুমলা পাশ থেকে চীনের কোন শহর দেখা যায় ? ভারতীয় সেনারা কিভাবে এখানে চিনা সৈন্যের চোখে চোখ রেখে বসে থাকে ? এখানে এলে শরীরে কি কি অসুবিধা হতে পারে ? এই জায়গায় আসতে হলে কি কি প্রয়োজনীয় কাগজপত্র লাগবে । চীন সীমান্ত বুমলা পাসের সমস্ত ইনফরমেশন নিয়ে আজকে আমি আপনাদের সামনে হাজির হচ্ছি। সঙ্গে থাকুন দেখতে থাকুন ঘুরতে ফিরতে।

Nepal Travel Vlog 2022- Phewa Lake, Phewa Tal or Fewa Lake is a freshwater lake in Nepal formerly called Baidam Tal located in the south of the Pokhara Valley that includes Pokhara city; parts of Sarangkot and Kaskikot. The lake is stream-fed but a dam regulates the water reserves, therefore, the lake is classified as semi-natural freshwater lake. It is the second largest lake in Nepal; the largest in Gandaki Province after the Rara lake in the comparison to Nepal's water bodies. It is the most popular and most visited lake of Nepal. Phewa lake is located at an altitude of 742 m (2,434 ft) and covers an area of about 4.43 km2 (1.7 sq mi). It has an average depth of about 8.6 m (28 ft) and a maximum depth of 24 m (79 ft). Maximum water capacity of the lake is approximately 43,000,000 cubic metres (35,000 acre⋅ft).
Devi's Falls is a waterfall located at Pokhara in Kaski District, Nepal. The water forms a tunnel after reaching the bottom. This tunnel is approximately 500 feet (150 m) long and runs 100 feet (30 m) below ground level. On 31 July 1961, a Swiss couple went swimming but the woman drowned in a pit because of the overflow. Her body was recovered three days later in river Phusre with great effort. Her father wished to name it David's falls after her daughter's name but changed to Devi's Fall. Its Nepali name is Patale Chango, which literal meaning is Paatal Ko Chango means Underworld's Waterfall.This is one of the most visited places in Nepal.
Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave is a cave located in Pokhara-17,Chhorepatan, Kaski district, opposite to Davis Fall, the water from Davis fall passes through this cave. Gupteshwor Mahadev cave is one of the major attractions of Pokhara.
