???????? STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - Well, these are tough times. I was living in Belgrade up until mid March but due to the outbreak of the coronavirus I got stranded in Sweden. Do I 'go home' as everyone keeps telling me? How is that the solution? Newsflash - you can only 'go home' if you actually have a home. I couldn't get back to Belgrade, so I found a new home!

We also head to a a French Patisserie owned by a French man from Normandy. There are all your usual sweet pastry items here that you would expect but I chose to have a slice of Quiche Lorraine! Epic!

8 months ago I did a DNA test with MyHeritage.com - despite knowing I had Polish heritage on my mother's side - there was always a question around whether I had more Southeastern European roots - the test confirmed I was 31% Balkan so having already been to Poland, I wanted to visit the Balkans to learn more about my potential heritage, and I'm glad I did!
In this video, we take a stroll down the Sava and Danube before heading to the small town of ZEMUN, a town part of Belgrade but often considered as its own seperate entity. A town that has been preserved from the 1800s, much like a Magic Town in Mexico and it has many similiarities! Great architecture, colourful buildings, churches, markets and amazing views!

Aircraft Graveyard. 747s, 737s, 757s, 727s and more. Kemble Cotswolds Airport. 7th July 2021
Kemble Cotswolds Airport, once home of the Red Arrows, is now a busy airport for general aviation. In addition to the light aircraft and flying clubs that use the site, the airport hosts an extensive aircraft dismantling, maintenance and storage operation for commercial aircraft. There is also an excellent cafe/ coffee shop / restaurant (AV8) which has amazing views over the active runway and to the parked commercial aircraft beyond.
I visited the airport on 7th July this year and was amazed to see how many commercial aircraft were stored or in the process of being dismantled across the airfield. These included:
Boeing 747-400s still bearing the livery of their former operators, such as British Airways (still 5 747s left - G-CIVJ, CIVN, BYGA, BYGB and BYGF (see my separate film focussing just on these 5), Saudia, Corsair.....
Boeing 737s - (many Norwegian -800 series; plus a couple of Jet Time Boeing 737-700 series)...
A couple of Jet 2 Boeing 757s (still I think my favourite aircraft);
ABoeing 727 Tri-Jet looking absolutely amazing and immaculate...
The ex Plus Ultra Airbus A340-300 parked near to the perimeter road and even a 42 year old ex Cargolux / Flying Tigers 747-200F tucked away in a corner!
I was also struck by the variety of airlines represented at the airport - including Easy Jet, Air Italy, Air Mauritius, Norwegian, TAP Air Portugal plus airlines that I'd never heard of like Avion Express of Lithuania, Sky-Angkor and Go Jet Airlines!
If you haven't visited the airport, it's definitely worth going if you can - and be sure to try the AV8 restaurant while you're there!

????Rakija - a common Serbian brandy coming in a variety of flavours
???? Kobasice - We visited Skadarlijske Kobasice for some immensely huge sausages (Skadarlija and Bavarian)
????Knedle - Visit Ferdinand Knedle for some amazing potato dumpling balls, traditonally filled with plums or apricots but we also tried one with chocolate!
????Prebranac - a hearty dish often served as a side dish full of beans, baked in a clay pot.
????Leskovačka Muckalića - a potato/pork and pepper dish also served in a clay pot!

*Update* Bangkok - Grocery Delivery is working well here.
A few friends asked me how do you eat with all the restaurants and malls closed in Thailand? Well, even before this using GrabFood or FoodPanda (our Uber Eats) for food delivery was/is Very Common. For the most part, unless its a huge order all deliveries come on a motorbike and have rarely taken more than 30 minutes to arrive once ordered.
Now, I'm using very similar delivery techniques for my groceries and am in the habit of of using Grab for that as well. Additionally, a fairly new delivery service: Happy Fresh has emerged a very popular new startup with infinitely more work than they can handle, as you might guess.
This eliminates the need for me to go out. So, just wanted to do a quick update on how *many* people here in Bangkok are surviving... Its really Not much of a hardship. This too shall pass. Its more a big disappointment that i simply cannot go outdoors and get some exercise - I LOVE walking around this city - Bangkok is amazing!
