Guatemala City is Awesome (and Dangerous?)
People want to know if Guatemala City is safe. Truth is Guatemala City is one of the most dangerous cities for travel in the world. But, that didn't stop me, or millions of other international tourists from coming here. Though I saw a total of three other foreigners the entire day. I also did a bit of a food tour near the end.
Most people blow right past Guatemala City for Antigua, but I chose to stay a few days and explore. I went to a mall, for local food at a market, and checked out Zone 4 and Zone 1.
I also interviewed a few locals about safety in Guatemala city. Guatemala may be a little (or a lot) dangerous, but if you're smart it's still a great place to travel.
