$325 Train Food - LUXURY STEAK + CHEESE on the Napa Valley Wine Train!! ???? ????

???? Thanks to Visit California for sponsoring this trip

NAPA VALLEY - Welcome to the beautiful Napa Valley, California - one of the premiere winery destinations in the United States! Today we have the special opportunity to go on the Wine Train, a historical railroad journey that's been restored as a gourmet food experience. I’m going to share with you a little behind the scenes of what goes into the Wine Train, and all the delicious food on board!

Again, thank you to Visit California (and Visit Napa Valley) for sponsoring my trip.

We arrived early and headed to the commissary to learn a little about what happens behind the scenes of the Wine Train. It was also a great opportunity to learn a little about the history of the Wine Train and how it was established and later restored, and converted into a gourmet meal experience and what it is today. We saw a little of the prep in the kitchen and then some of the chef’s loading their ingredients onto the train for the lunch ride.

When the time came, we boarded the train, and first sat in the lounge to enjoy a drink and appetizer. For appetizers today we had a tray of cheeses and fruits. After the train traveled from Napa to St. Helena, it then turns around and heads back. We then headed over to the main dining car for lunch. In the kitchen things were buzzing - unlike a restaurant where guests arrived staggered, on the wine train, everyone is there and ready to eat at the same time. So the kitchen car is a frenzy at peak time. Yet as soon as all the orders are ready, it’s immediately calm. It was quite unique to see. For lunch we tried the tenderloin and the herb roasted chicken.

Definitely the Wine Train is not only about the food, but really about the atmosphere, the classic heritage of the train cars and decorations, and the gorgeous changing scenery of Napa Valley. I thought it was an incredible experience in California.

We took the Gourmet Express train for lunch and depending on season and situation, prices can fluctuate between $265 - $325 per person. ???? Wine Train:

Napa Valley Wine Train - One of the Best Ways to Experience the Napa Valley # Eating and Drinking

The Napa Valley wine train offers many different types of experiences ranging from 2 hours to 6 hours and they even offer special theme events like murder mystery rides.

The Napa Valley Wine Train is by far the most convenient and interesting ways to see the Napa Valley. 36 miles of scenic vineyard lined terrain, wineries and the charming towns of Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford, St Helena and of Course Napa. You begin and end your adventure in Napa, California. Plus the train has several bars and a restaurant.

This is a special way to celebrate birthdays, anniversary and even a wedding. The train is classic old refurbished cars from a seductive era. There are parlor cars, dining cars, a dome car and even open air cars. Its admittedly pricey and in 2022 costs between $245 and $700 per person plus the cost of drinks and tips. The cost includes a glass of champagne. There is an option to visit the Charles Krug and V. Sattui wineries and this video shows you both of those wineries. We took the 3 hour Gourmet Express starting in the lounge car on the way to St Helena and the dining car on the way back to Napa. The food is surprisingly good.

The conductors do give some information and history but its recommended you do a bit of research when on the wine train website about the wineries along the route.

It runs from Napa to Yountville St Helena along the Napa Valley Vine Trail. See my Napa Valley vine trail videos (links below).

The BEST Napa Valley Winery I’ve EVER seen! Castello di Amorosa Tour and Review

The BEST Napa Valley Winery I’ve EVER seen! Castello di Amorosa Tour and Review | Napa Valley, CA. Castello di Amorosa NAPA VALLEY WINERY Tour and Review | Napa Valley, CA Wine Capital of the World. Today we're in beautiful Napa Valley California doing a walking tour of Castello di Amorosa - a Castle winery in Napa Valley! Castello di Amorosa is the only authentic medieval (13th-century) Italian Tuscan castle and winery built in America. They officially lowered their drawbridge for business in April 2007. Castello di Amorosa is nestled in the western hills on 171 acres just minutes south of The Napa Valley town of Calistoga. After several decades of personal adventure visiting and studying medieval castles and wineries throughout Italy and Europe, Dario Sattui, a successful 4th-generation Italian winemaker and entrepreneur, began building Castello di Amorosa in 1994. Over the course of this marathon project, the Castello has evolved to include over 136,000 square feet, including 107 rooms (90 of which are devoted to winemaking and wine storage); an enormous Great Hall with 2-story replica Tuscan frescoes painted by Italian artists and a 500-year old fireplace; 8,000 tons of hand-chiseled stones; 8 levels (4 above ground and 4 below); a drawbridge, dungeon and torture chamber; medieval church; and arguably the single most impressive wine barrel room in the U.S., with ancient Roman cross-vaulted ceilings.
