$1500 Japanese Apartment Tour in Tokyo Shibuya

Japan Home Tour of my Shibuya Tokyo Apartment.
Use my Squarespace link and Get 10% off today!

I take you inside my Shibuya apartment and show you where I have been living in Tokyo for many years now. The average apartment in Tokyo is not very big. My Japanese apartment is 35 square meters and it costs about $1500 when I first moved in but it is closer to $1600 now. It was fine when I first moved in, but with Maiko moving in and now a baby on the way, it will be too cramped for all 3 of us. This is how life is for many people in Tokyo as space is limited in a big city like Tokyo. If you are thinking of moving to Japan or even moving to Tokyo, living in one of the busiest areas like Shibuya, this is likely what you would get for this monthly rent. I hope you enjoy this Japanese house tour and me sharing a little bit of how my life is in Japan. This has been one of my living costs in Japan for some time, but we look for a larger place to start our family in Japan, monthly rent will probably increase as we try to find more space while staying inside of the city. If you want to see more of my family's daily life and journey check out my Tokyo Zebra channel. You'll see more of what it is like to move in Tokyo and live in Japan.

$1,000 Tokyo Apartment Tour (2021)

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share this video today to give a quick tour of my apartment here in Tokyo as well as the cost I pay and how I came to find this place.

As a foreigner in Japan, the prices and sizes in Japan (specifically Tokyo) for apartments are much higher than where I am from.

How much does the average apartment cost where you live?

Please feel free to leave a comment down below. I would be more than happy to get some feedback on how I can improve and also to get some recommendations of what you would like to see in the future.

Cost of Renting a Tokyo Apartment

Due to baby timing, buying house in Tokyo may not be an option so renting a temporary Tokyo apartment may be the best option, right now. Maiko is 7 months pregnant so in the near future, living, working and filming in a 35 square meter (376 square meter) Shibuya apartment with a baby will be tight. Apartment costs in Tokyo vary, but living close to a major Tokyo station could get quite expensive. In general, rent in Tokyo is expensive but adding more requirements will increase the total Tokyo apartment rent costs. I'll give you a Tour of a Tokyo apartment we are looking at and we'll see if we can fit it within our living cost in Tokyo. I wouldn't say this is the average apartment cost in Tokyo, but probably on the higher side due to location as well as being recently built in Tokyo. This is life in Tokyo, but we love it and hope to continue here for sometime. Thank you for joining us as this Tokyo house hunting struggle continues.

Tokyo Apartment Tour New Way Of Living In Japan

Tokyo Apartment Tour New Way Of Living In Japan
Japanese house and apartment tour of a new quality way of living in Tokyo for an affordable price.
People think living in Japan, especially Tokyo is very expensive. However, I want to show you through this Japanese house tour of a social apartment in Tokyo that you don't have to pay a lot to live and enjoy your life in Japan.

Social apartments is a new way of living in Japan, it's different to a share house because you actually have your own apartment and the chores/cleaning of the house are taken care of.

I've also lived at places similar to this and I really recommend it for people who are new and moving into Tokyo because it's super hassle free and foreign friendly! Buying furniture, setting up the electricity, internet etc is all done for you too so you can really just enjoy your time and settle in :D
You can also move out to an apartment after you are more settled in to your new life but the apartments here also give you the privacy you want which I really liked!

But biggest thing I like about social apartments is that you can make new friends to help you enjoy and start your life here in Tokyo!

Japan hotel on a budget! Where to stay in Tokyo, Japan for cheap. $600 for 2 weeks?!

You're looking up:

Where to stay in Japan?
What to do in Japan?

Then you start hearing the cha-ching sound as you start calculating things. The biggest expense would probably be flight and accommodations, huh? You can still enjoy the trip AND do lots while on a budget!

You're traveling on a budget and looking for some place safe, comfortable, budget-friendly, and convenient. Most hotels will rack you up a bill for over $2,000. But for under $1000 in 2 weeks you can stay at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Toyocho in Tokyo!

The subway station is right outside and across the street is the convenient airport limousine bus so you dont have to worry about catching the subway and lugging your suitcases during rush hour to make your flight!

If you enjoyed this video and found it somewhat helpful, please help me out and leave a like! I'll make another video with recommendation on where to stay in Osaka!*

*edit: :( just found out that the osaka hotel is no longer in business. hasn't been since 2020 possibly due to the 'vid

Buying a House in Tokyo

So we're looking to buy a house in Japan. One reason is to lower our monthly Tokyo housing costs in Japan because renting an apartment in Tokyo is quite expensive. Also, our family is growing with our new baby and our Shibuya apartment will not be large enough for the 3 of us as our current Tokyo apartment is only 35 square meters. So today, we will do a Japanese apartment tour and Japanese house tour in 2 different areas in Tokyo. We've been looking for a Japanese home for 6 months now and hopefully today is the day we find our new Tokyo home. In particular, we are looking to buy a house in Japan and then renovate the apartment or house to suit our needs. Ideally we have a Tokyo apartment or Tokyo house at least 70 square meters and a 3LDK which means 3 bedrooms, living, dining and kitchen area. Searching for a Japanese home in Tokyo is quite stressful though especially when you have a baby on the way. In this video, I will also review the cost of buying a house in Japan so if you are searching for an apartment in Tokyo or a house in Tokyo, you may be interested in the video.

My $3,500/month Tokyo Apartment Tour (2022)

In this video I take you on a tour of my $3,500/month Tokyo apartment. This Tokyo apartment tour will show you what $3,500 gets you in downtown Tokyo in an affluent part of the city. The apartment is around 70sqm and quite spacious. It is in a lovely part of the city very near to a beautiful park. While the apartment is nice, personally I don't think it's a good value. I just want people to be able to see the reality of accommodation prices in Tokyo. The value for money can be quite poor.

JAPANESE APARTMENT TOUR 2018 | VLOG 5

If you are planning to live in Japan, the tour that we filmed might be crucial...Think twice, get money and be very careful. Find a cheap Japanese apartment is not easy, especially in big cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.

Japan airbnb tour and authentic Japanese Curry? | Tokyo Travel Vlog

In this vlog i officially start showing you what I get up to in Tokyo, Japan. my partner and I are staying at an Airbnb in the Ikebukuro, Itabashu-ku area. I did an Airbnb apartment tour. The apartment was messy but it's honestly tiny and we had already slept on the bed.

Later that day we decided to venture to the JR Ikebukuro station to grab our JR passes. We got our vouchers from JTB in Melbourne and had to exchange them at an actual JR station. We went to a BIC camera to buy a Japan to Australia power adapter. I bought one from Daiso in Australia but unfortunately it doesn't work with all our tech.

The next day I prepared breakfast. My partner and I bought some breads and sandwiches at a local bakery. We then made our way to Shibuya via the JR Shibuya train. We had to pick up our studio Ghibli tickets from Voyagin. We ordered the tickets prior to coming to Japan. We also saw the iconic Shibuya Crossing! After that we then went to Yoyogi park to check out if we could still see Cherry Blossoms. unfortunately I think we have already missed them which is a bummer but it gives us another reason to come back. after that my partner and I went to an Ichiran Ramen restaurant. It was so cool to experience it! it was a traditional pub type eating experience and I really enjoyed the food and the venue.

Later that evening we met up with hijessicaanne for dinner. we went to a Coco Curry. We wandered around and found a Daiso and Mega Don Quijote. After that we went to a cute cafe/bar called Udagawa.

The video kind of ended abruptly because I did not film anything else after I moved in. I might do another update vlog soon to give some updates on my new apartment and channel updates.
