The COMPLETE Bangkok Transport Guide 2019 (Co van Kessel)

The COMPLETE Bangkok Transport Guide 2018 (Co van Kessel)

In this video we will give a short summery of all the main transportation options in Bangkok. Including the Taxi, Tuk Tuk, BTS, MRT, Airport Rail Link and the Chao Phraya Express boat.

If you want to move around like a local, use the public transportation. But when do you use which option? We are here to give you a better idea of the several options in Bangkok, Thailand.

We did not include all options in Bangkok, but only the main ones used by tourists.

Looking for an authentic and unique adventure? Co van Kessel bike tours and boat tours provides a refreshing alternative to the tired tourist experience. We do not battle the crowds at clichéd destinations promoted in guide books, but turn your attention to quaint local communities and charming excursions into the fascinating lifestyle and culture of real Thai people. Every day is different and every tour is a surprise as we focus not on destinations, but lose ourselves in the enchantment of the journey itself.

Co van Kessel, an innovative and adventurous Dutchman, pioneered bicycle tours in Bangkok more than 30 years ago. As a longtime resident and self-professed lover of Bangkok, he understood very well the picture of accelerated urban development (gridlocked traffic, concrete towers, and choking pollution) that has plagued the recent image of the city. He also had a hunch that this was not what Bangkok or Thailand was all about.

Making it his goal to re-discover Bangkok, Co spent thousands of hours on his mountain bike exploring the vast network of local streets, alleyways, footpaths and canals between the main urban thoroughfares. What he found, lurking behind the facade of modernization, were hidden worlds of peace and tranquility, a picture of “real” Thai life that has remained unchanged for countless decades; an identity of a city that is true to the Thai people, yet largely unknown to outsiders.

Whether it’s the colorful sights and smells of the local markets, the fascinating life of locals along the canals, or the surprising existence of bountiful green belts, Co discovered the essence of what makes Bangkok one of Asia’s most captivating cities. Since then, it has been his mission to share these discoveries with the rest of the world.

What we do

Our mission at Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours is to provide our guests with a singularly unique travel experience in Thailand. All our tours use Co’s extensive topographical knowledge of the greater Bangkok area as well as his keen eye for the interesting to take you where nobody else can or will.

We aim not to bore you with talk, but to immerse you in an experience where your individual fascinations emerge.

Bicycles, boats, and our feet become the tools we use to gain access to the previously inaccessible, behind-the-scenes lifestyle of the Thai. Here the roots of an ancient culture will become evident in a way you never could have imagined.

How to use the CHAO PHRAYA EXPRESS BOAT in Bangkok ( Co van Kessel Guide )

How to use the CHAO PHRAYA EXPRESS BOAT in Bangkok ( Co van Kessel Guide )

For more information:

In this video we explain you how to use the Chao Phraya Express Boat. This is a really convenient transport to use in Bangkok to beat the traffic and it’s also a lot of fun. Use the river in Bangkok instead of the busy streets and beat the traffic.

There are 5 different colored boats you can take, but to not confuse you, we only recommend 2 of them. The orange boat and the blue boat.

We use the example to use the Orange Flag Boat from N13 to N3 Si Phraya to get to our office at Co van Kessel

This video is part of a web series about Bangkok and in this series we show you how to get around in Bangkok, Thailand.

Top Things To Do in Bangkok 2020 - Thailand Travel Guide

Hey Must Do Travelers! Today we are taking a look at the top things to do in Bangkok, Thailand which is known for its extra vibrant streets and breathtaking temples. Let’s go check out the top spots but first, if you are new to our channel be sure to Subscribe to Must Do Travels and hit the bell to be notified about our latest videos.

The Grand Palace

The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings at the heart of the city and has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782. The king, his court, and his royal government were based on the grounds of the palace until 1925.

Wat Arun Ratchawararam

Also known as the Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn, this Buddhist temple is found in the Bangkok Yai district and is easily one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok. The temple gets its name from the Hindu god Aruna, who is often personified as the radiations of the rising sun.

Chao Phraya River

Also known as the River of Kings, The Chao Phraya is the major river in Thailand that forms the centre of the country. The river flows through the entire city of Bangkok and then into the Gulf of Thailand.

Wat Phra Chetuphon

The Wat Pho is one of the largest temples in the city. It’s best known for its giant reclining Buddha that is covered in gold leaf. You’ll need to take your shoes off to enter, and if you’d like a little good luck, you can buy a bowl of coins at the entrance of the hall which you can drop in the bowls which line the length of the walls.

Chinatown

Bangkok Chinatown is the largest Chinatown in the world and arguably one of the best to visit as well. You can find the best that Bangkok has to offer here with great food, bars and stunning temples.

MBK Center

The MBK Center is a large shopping mall found in the city center. At eight storeys, the mall has around 2,000 shops and restaurants including the 4-storey Tokyu department store.

Lumpini Park

Similar to Central Park in New York City, Lumphini Park is a beautiful park in Bangkok that offers rare open public space, trees, and playgrounds in the Thai capital and contains an artificial lake where visitors can rent boats.

BEST WAY TO TRAVEL TO BANGKOK THAILAND │Thailand Travel Guide

Explore Thailand with TravadLife's video guide, Places to Visit, Food to Eat, Where to Eat and Things to Do.

Bangkok is the capital and most populous city of Thailand. Travel to Bangkok is one of the best destination as there are many amazing attractions and various things to do in Bangkok. Within the Bangkok city, you can easily find city hotels, shopping mall, fashion center, wholesale fashion mall, Bangkok street food, night market, nightlife, Thai massage center, Thai restaurant etc. Basically, every moment and corners in Bangkok are able to keep you entertained and satisfied.

My recent trip to Bangkok for 4 days 3 nights stayed in Pratunam Area is amazing. I stayed in The Berkerley Hotel (5 stars rated), a luxury hotel within the Downtown of Bangkok. The location of Berkerley Hotel is very convenient, with just walking distance to a few fashion mall and night markets such as

- TALAD Neon Night Market
- The Platinum Fashion Mall
- Watergate night market
- Pratunam Night Market
- MBK Center
- Siam Square Shopping Mall
- Central World Shopping Mall

Amazing Bangkok Drone you really should watch, everything is very beautiful in this video about my city.

When you travel to Bangkok, you are traveling to see new places, meet Thai people, experience and learn about our culture rather than reading about stories from the book or the internet.

If this is your first visit, you may be overwhelmed with a new language, new city, and new culture but I’m here to be your guide.

Everything that you will see here has meaning behind the stories. I can give you an explanation in a quick and simple way, that you can easily understand. Your memories will be even more meaningful with a little bit of information to go along with all those amazing photos, I can help capture with my experience.

I was born and raised here in Bangkok. I love this city and our lifestyle very much. I learned English through a one year exchanged student program in NewZealand. I graduated from a local university here in Bangkok with a degree in Business Management.

I’ve traveled extensively all around Asia and throughout the United States. I love to learn about different cultures, different peoples and understand what the travelers need to ensure they will have a great travel experience when visiting here. I can adapt your tour to fit the goals of your traveling.

I founded BangkokGuideSmile in 2013. I have done more than a thousand group tours for groups, couples, family with children or teenagers, partners, friends, and co-workers.

With a small private group size of 2 - 8 people. I‘m able to be flexible based on how your group is and what your concentrate focus will be, to make sure you have a great quality tour. I also make sure that every member in a group is happy and enjoy every minute on tour.

Check out my reviews on TripAdvisor ‘BangkokGuideSmile’ and see my customers say about me as their guide in Bangkok.

Booking a tour with me is very easy. I respond to each and every email personally. If my schedule is available on your requested dates, I will plan and arrange the desired tour for you and/or your group. I’m happy to help with any tips or advice before your tour starts as well.

You can choose from the different itineraries based on your personal preferences such as cultures, temples, markets, foods or a mix of everything that we can accomplish in one day. I can also customize a flexible itinerary for your group based on what you would like to do.

In addition to providing a great tour, I love to take photos and know all of the perfect spots, to help you capture the memories of your tour here in Bangkok. When you’re smiling, I’m also smiling.

I’m very excited about your coming trip to Bangkok and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon. ????

Thank you very much ????
Mandy

BANGKOK - Thailand Travel Guide | Around The World

Bangkok, official name Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, is the capital of Thailand and, with a population of over eleven million inhabitants, by far its largest city. Its high-rise buildings, heavy traffic congestion, intense heat and naughty nightlife may not immediately give you the best impression — but don't let that mislead you. It is one of Asia's most cosmopolitan cities with magnificent temples and palaces, authentic canals, busy markets and a vibrant nightlife that has something for everyone.

For years, it was only a small trading post at the banks of the Chao Phraya River, until King Rama I, the first monarch of the present Chakri dynasty, turned it into the capital of Siam in 1782, after the burning of Ayutthaya by Burmese invaders but they did not take over Ayutthaya. Since then, Bangkok has turned into a national treasure house and functions as Thailand's spiritual, cultural, political, commercial, educational and diplomatic centre.

Bangkok is a huge and modern city humming with nightlife and great aromas. Administratively, it is split up into 50 districts (เขต khet), which are further split into 169 subdistricts (แขวง khwaeng), but these are more often used in official business and for addresses. Visitors will find the conceptual division below of the main areas more useful for getting around.

Most of Bangkok's sights are concentrated on the island of Rattanakosin, often referred to as the Old City. Out of Bangkok's hundreds of temples, the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun usually make up the top 3. The Grand Palace has an immense size, so expect to spend at least a full morning or afternoon there. Within the palace grounds is Wat Phra Kaew, the most sacred Buddhist temple of Thailand. Unlike other temples, it is not one building, nor are there living spaces for monks. Instead, it is a collection of highly decorated holy buildings and monuments. One of its buildings houses the Emerald Buddha, and while you might not expect it from its size, it is the most sacred Buddha image of Thailand. Sadly the entrance fee is quite steep (500 Bhat, August 2016) for what you get. There are basically only two buildings you can enter and the whole area is absolutely overcrowded. Huge loads of tourists everywhere, it feels like a zoo or Disneyland. It kind of ruins the experience.

Given its size, Bangkok is surprisingly safe, with violent crimes like mugging and robbery unusual but you should be careful, of course. One of the biggest dangers is motorbikes who ride on pavements at speed, go through red lights, undertake buses as they stop to let passengers off and generally drive far too fast especially through stationary traffic. If you are going to hire a bike, make sure you have insurance in case you are injured. You may be the world's best driver but you'll meet many of the world's worst drivers in Thailand.

While not particularly high class, street food is among the most delicious food and can be found all over Bangkok — wherever you're staying, you rarely have to walk more than 100m for a cart of street restaurant.

Bangkok boasts a stunning 50,000 places to eat; not only thousands of Thai restaurants, but a wide selection of world-class international cuisine too. Prices are generally high by Thai standards, but cheap by international standards; a good meal is unlikely to cost more than 300 baht, although there are a few restaurants (primarily in hotels) where you can easily spend 10 times this.

The Tuk Tuk is one of the symbols of Bangkok so there is no better way to explore Bangkok than by whizzing around the streets in one of these iconic three wheeled vehicles. You can pick up a tuk tuk on any street corner (and the price you will be charged could vary hugely) but there are also many tour operators who also run tours which use a tuk tuk as the main form of transport.

There is also a Tuk Tuk hop on hop off service that travelers can pay once and hop around top Bangkok attractions around Rattanakosin, Khao San Road, Dusit, Yaowarat and Phahurat areas.
