#GoLater: Virtual Travel to French Polynesia with Nicole Isaacs | Jetsetter.com

Can you imagine anything dreamier than island-hopping around French Polynesia? Between its turquoise lagoons and overwater bungalows, it’s paradise on Earth. Here's how JS tastemaker Nicole Isaacs spent her time in Bora Bora, Mo'orea, and Tahiti. Don’t forget to subscribe!

Bora Bora

Check in to the Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora! Everything you could ever want in a Tahitian hideaway, you’ll find at this Four Seasons: thatched-roof bungalow villas with stone walls and mother-of-pearl details, locations on the beach or the lagoon itself, direct access to that legendary turquoise South Pacific water, and stunning views of Mount Otemanu. Of the overwater bungalows here, 15 come with private saltwater plunge pools; beachfront villas are more spacious and better suited for families and groups. Don't miss a spin in the resort catamaran, and save your appetite for French-Polynesian cuisine (Moorea shrimp with radish and snow peas; seared yellowfin tuna with roasted pineapple) at Arii Moana, one of the hotel’s four restaurants.

Swim with stingrays and sharks

Of course, it’s not enough to simply relax above the waves—you need to experience the warm South Pacific waters for yourself. Rent a canoe for a private, low-key spin around the lagoon, where you might spot stingrays and fish swirling beneath and around your paddle. If you want to get even more up close and personal, book a snorkel safari or catamaran cruise. Boats sail past the Otemanu and Pahia peaks before entering more open water, where you get to don your gear and jump in next to rays, and reef sharks (the friendly kind, of course).

16 Days in French Polynesia | Tahiti, Bora Bora, Rangiroa, and Fakarava

Watch the entire 16 day islands of Tahiti itinerary unfold where we started on Tahiti, explored the Papeete Market, lived in luxury at Le Meridien Bora Bora, experienced Rangiroa and Fakarava as locals, and did some of the most epic dives. Open this up to learn more ↓

This journey to paradise starts from Toronto via San Francisco to Tahiti and follows us in linear order, how we planned our vacation through the islands, hopping to Bora Bora, Rangiroa, and then Fakarava before coming back to Tahiti with Air Tahiti.

This trip was possible because of our strategic use of points which included Aeroplan to get us to Tahiti with United Airlines and leveraging a mix of Marriott Bonvoy and Amex Membership Rewards to get our free stay at Le Meridien Bora Bora.

Enjoy our 2 week + 2 days vacation with authentic ukulele tracks recorded in French Polynesia.

#GoLater: VirtualTravel to Grand Cayman Island with Monica Walton | Jetsetter.com

Looking for up-close encounters with beautiful wildlife? Pristine beaches? Incredible Caribbean cuisine? The biggest isle in the Cayman Islands—just an hour's flight from Miami—has it all. Don’t forget to subscribe!

0:50 Stingray City:

One of Cayman’s quintessential experiences is paying a visit to Stingray City, a collection of shallow sandbars in Grand Cayman’s North Sound home to a surprising number of—you guessed it—stingrays. It may be touristy, but there’s arguably no place easier (or more beautiful) to get up close and personal with these beautiful marine creatures. Five Star Charters gets you there in style, and has snorkeling gear, snacks, and drinks, and even a jet ski on board for excursions to Starfish Point (where you can see and hold live starfish) if you’d like to extend your afternoon of fun.

2:02 Barkers Beach:

Horseback riding on the beach is one of those pinch-me moments every animal lover should experience, and one of the best spots to do it is Barkers Beach. Part of Barkers National Park in West Bay, it's lined with dense mangroves and remains a beloved, uncrowded spot for taking a dip. Book a tour with Pampered Ponies and you’ll be able to take one of their horses out onto its untouched shores at the time of your choosing, be it early morning, at sunset, or under the moonlight. For an added experience, they’ll even de-saddle your horse so you can ride them bareback right into the sea. (Don’t worry—they love it!)

24 HOURS IN TAHITI - IS IT WORTH IT?

Is Tahiti a destination worth exploring?

Wanting to make the most out of our very last day in French Polynesia, we decided to rent a car from the airport and explore the island of Tahiti!

Accommodation:
We stayed at Fare Nukumai, an affordable local pension and I'd recommend it:

Food:
We had an amazing dinner at Lani's BBQ - portion was huge and taste was great!

Car Rental:
We rented a small car from Tahiti Easy Car, which cost about $85. I'd recommend renting a 4x4 instead, so you can get to the cool spots.

With just a few hours, we went to Maraa Grotto, which is beautiful and accessible. However, it was completely blocked! We drove to Teahupo’o, one of the world's most famous surf breaks, before backing track to Faarumai waterfall, which is free to visit and not much of a deviation from the route. They look best after rainfall. Our final stop was Papenoo Valley, where most people would book a 4 x 4 tour to see, as it’s not possible to get very far unless you have a 4 x 4 vehicle.

So was Tahiti worth exploring, or are you better off spending your time elsewhere? Watch till the end to find out!

Should a French Polynesia Cruise Be On Your Travel Bucket List ? 4 Pros and 4 Cons Revealed !

Do you have a cruise or travel bucket list? If so, should a French Polynesia cruise be on that list? In this I discuss the Tahiti and French Polynesia region and review what I think are the 4 pros and the 4 cons of cruising that I believe you should consider as you consider this as a cruising vacation option. I travelled to the region, which is pretty remote to explore. It takes well over 8 hours to fly from Los Angeles and the trip from Europe is 21 hours. It is very unique, different and beautiful. But, is it worth going all the way there? Find out what to expect and if I think you should add this to your travel and cruise bucket list - especially when there are so many other things you could have on your travel and cruise bucket list.

Note: Some of the costs of my trip to French Polynesia were covered by Paul Gauguin Cruises and Air Tahiti Nui before making this video.

#GoLater: Virtual Travel to Il Borro Tuscany with Nicole Isaacs | Jetsetter.com

With an enviable location in the heart of Italy, the refined Il Borro Relais hotel is a luxurious take on the Tuscany farm stay. Jetsetter got an inside look at all the property has to offer. Follow real-life Jetsetter Nicole Isaacs as she takes a tour. Don’t forget to subscribe!

When Ferruccio Ferragamo purchased the 1,700-acre property back in 1993, the surrounding village was basically abandoned, the villas—even the land itself—in various states of disrepair. Instead of raising the buildings and starting over, the family went to work, replanting 100+ acres of vineyards, restoring the bridges and roads and farmland, and rebuilding and preserving the existing architecture and original traditions that once gave this village life.

Guest rooms are just the beginning. In fact, the hotel is now a working estate. Vineyards now churn out over 200,000 bottles a year, olive groves produce olive oil, and rotating crops including wheat, sunflowers, potatoes, and lavender feature in the farm-to-table dishes at both Il Borro Tuscan Bistro and Osteria del Borro overseen by executive chef Andrea Campani.

#GoLater: Virtual Travel to The French Riviera (Nice and Monaco) with Monica Walton | Jetsetter.com

With its Michelin-starred restaurants, yacht-filled marinas, and idyllic beaches, the French Riviera is the definition of glamorous. Here's how JS tastemaker Monica Walton spent a weekend in Nice and Monaco. Don’t forget to subscribe!

Nice, France
Nice, on the southern coast of France, is the perfect introduction to the French Riviera. It’s both easy to get to and even easier to explore once you arrive. Tourists never tire of its year-round sunshine and glorious water views, and you could spend all morning and afternoon hitting the charming restaurants and shops lining the Promenade des Anglais.

DO
The beaches that border Nice are some of the most iconic seafronts not just along the Côte d'Azur but in all of France. One of the best spots to take in the views and the sun is the pebble-strewn Plage Publique de l'Opera. Located near the Opera House and Castle Hill, it features both a wide stretch that's open to the public and a private beach-restaurant that keeps the crowds at bay.

SHOP
Set aside an afternoon (or more) to explore the colorful Cours Saleya flower market, in the heart of town near the Old Port. Here, stalls brim with fresh blooms, fruits and vegetables, and spices. On Mondays, the area transforms into a flea market peddling arts and crafts and antiques. No matter what day you visit, Cours Saleya is a perfect spot for picking up souvenirs and getting an authentic taste of local life.

#GoLater: The Most Beautiful Places in the World to Add to Your Bucket List | Jetsetter.com

Whether you’re talking awe-inspiring landscapes or wildlife, feats of architecture, or cultural immersion, these destinations are the most beautiful places in the world. Just try to take a bad picture—we dare you! Don’t forget to subscribe:

0:59 Jaipur, India
The rose-colored buildings of Rajasthan’s capital city have earned Jaipur its nickname as “The Pink City.” The architecture is mesmerizing, especially around the Royal City Palace. Don’t miss a glimpse of Hawa Mahal—a façade with 953 windows built so royal women could look down on street life unseen.

1:52 Santorini, Greece
This crescent-shaped volcanic island in the Aegean Sea is honeymoon gold. We can’t get enough of its black- and red-sand beaches, iconic whitewashed buildings, and legendary sunsets from the main town of Oia.

2:43 Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
Pictures fail to capture the true scope of the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

3:26 New Zealand
New Zealand as a whole is blessed with some of the world’s most staggeringly beautiful landscapes. Our favorite: Milford Sound, a mountainous fiord that opens out into the Tasman Sea, shadowed by sheer rock faces containing countless tiny waterfalls. Writer Rudyard Kipling was so moved by it all that he dubbed it “The Eighth Wonder of the World.”

4:13 Amalfi Coast, Italy
Pastel-colored cities cascading over cliffs rising from the Mediterranean Sea. The scent of olive groves. Endless limoncello. From legendary Positano to hilltop Ravello, the enthralling beauty and unabashed glamour of Italy’s Amalfi Coast has not waned for centuries.
