SUMMARY:
- Sunrise Express consists of two trains, Sunrise Izumo and Sunrise Seto. They’re combined on their way from Tokyo to Okayama, then split up and travel to two different places.
- Unlike most modern trains, Sunrise Express has not one or two, but six types of accommodations!
- Let's say you don't want to spend a fortune on your privacy, or you're going to travel with a companion. In this case, you can opt for class B which offers passengers different kinds of accommodations.
- Sunrise Express has everything you may need to have a comfortable trip. There are enough toilets to take an early morning bathroom trip without getting stuck in a restroom line.
- There's one important thing you should remember unless you're traveling in a first class Single Deluxe compartment. If you want to take a shower, you need to buy a special card.
- Shinkansen's operating speed can reach 200 miles per hour! But according to test runs in 2003, Shinkansen can increase its speed up to 361 miles per hour!
- The train has been running for almost 55 years and has already carried more than 10 billion passengers.
- All Japanese high-speed trains have an automatic emergency brake system that comes into action in case of an earthquake.
- The world's busiest train station is Shinjuku which has more than 3.6 million visitors.
- The longest train that runs upside down is also in Japan. To see this wonder, you need to travel an hour outside of Tokyo, where you'll find yourself in a beachy prefecture called Chiba.
- There is so much train fandom in the country that train lovers separate into numerous groups, from those whose hobby is to walk around train stations to those who can't live without train lunch boxes.

28hrs on World’s Most Luxurious Train: The Venice Simplon Orient Express

Start speaking a new language in 3 weeks with Babbel. Get up to 65% OFF your subscription HERE:

Today I’m taking The Venice Simplon Orient Express in a Grand Suite, all the way to Venice, passing through three countries. This is not only the world’s most iconic, but arguably the most luxurious sleeper train. I have the grand suite today, which features an ensuite bathroom with shower, living space, dining table and double bed. There are three restaurants onboard and even a lounge car with baby grand piano. It’s like the very best 5* hotel on the rails.

Belmond runs all kinds of trains, but this one has been on my list for a long time. I feel incredibly fortunate I was able to get an upgrade to a suite which I’d never in a million years get the chance to travel in with cash. So how did I book this?

As discussed in the video, I used my friend Jarvis’ luxury travel agency: to book this trip. He assisted no end in arranging all the finer details of the trip and in getting the my space available upgrade to the Grand Suite.

Travelling 6,000km by train

Travelling across Europe without flying! Watch the companion video about electric cars on Nebula:
(link updated March 2023)

I was given the opportunity to speak at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, and due to my pledge to not fly unless absolutely necessary, I took the train! That meant an epic 6000km journey across Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Then on the way back I stopped over in Stockholm to meet up with some new affiliates of the Wikicast empire...

The Wikicast on Apple Podcasts:
The Wikicast on Spotify:

Travelling by train is more expensive and it takes longer, but is a totally different experience to flying. I felt connected to the journey in a more meaningful way, and actually enjoyed the experience. I had leg room! I had nice food! If you've never taken a medium-long distance trip like this by train before, honestly give it a go. It's better for the climate, and it's better for you.

The MOST EXPENSIVE Trains : Indian Railways PREMIUM

Indian Railways Premium Trains are the highly priced Trains.
PREMIUM Trains - The most EXPENSIVE trains to Travel in India ( Not to get confused with the Luxury Trains ) , what makes these Trains so expensive ? Well its the Dynamic faring concept that makes these trains highly expensive to Travel.

Dynamic faring structure was first introduced by the Indian Railways in 2013 and the first Premium Train was the Mumbai - New Delhi Premium Express. The fares of these trains keep increasing based on the demand & frequency rate of the seats getting booked, very similar concept as the faring in Airlines ticketing. The fare is inclusive of the food provided on board for the entire journey.

Premium trains run on the busiest routes where there is a heavy demand for trains. These trains are given the highest priority to attain punctuality with very limited number of halts en-route .The booking for these trains are limited to 15 days from date of journey and is helpful to last minute travelers who can afford the price to get a confirmed seat. There is absolutely no refunding concept if one plans to cancel their Journey , they forfeit the complete amount. The bookings can only be done through the IRCTC website

Over all these trains have helped Indian Railways Boost their revenues from the passenger Train category as the fares of these trains have multiplied up to 10 times during the high demand season. as compared to the fare of a Rajdhani Express ( The most expensive trains with a fixed pricing prior to Premium Train services began ) running on the same route.

Here comes a specially compiled video containing ALCo's , EMD's & Electrics dedicated to all The RailZone Subscribers on the account of the Channel successfully crossing 5k+ Subscribers .
