x

Geography of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina is located in Southeastern Europe, in the western Balkans. It has a 932 km border with Croatia to the north and southwest, a 312 km border with Serbia to the east, and a 215 km border with Montenegro to the southeast. It borders the Adriatic Sea along its 20 km (12.42 mi) coastline. The most striking features of the local terrain are valleys and mountains which measure up to 2386 m in height. The country is mostly mountainous, encompassing the central Dinaric Alps. The northeastern parts reach into the Pannonian basin, while in the south it borders the Adriatic sea.
The country's name comes from the two regions, Bosnia on the north and Herzegovina on the south. The south part of the country has Mediterranean climate and a great deal of agriculture. Eastern Bosnia is heavily forested along the river Drina, and overall close to 50% of Bosnia and Herzegovina is forested. Most forest areas are in Central, Eastern and Western parts of Bosnia. Northern Bosnia contains very fertile agricultural land along the river Sava and the corresponding area is heavily farmed. The country has only 20 kilometres of coastline, around the town of Neum.
In anthrop-geographical field the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a bridge between Europe and Asia. Such geographical relations have influenced the historical destiny of the people and inhabitants populating the land.

MAP OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

hello my friends. this is a map of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the western Balkans, bordering Croatia to the north and west, Serbia to the east, and Montenegro to the southeast. It has a coastline about 20 kilometres long surrounding the town of Neum.

The country's name comes from the two alleged regions Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose border was never defined. Historically, Bosnia's official name never included any of its many regions until the Austro-Hungarian occupation.

The country is mostly mountainous, encompassing the central Dinaric Alps. The northeastern parts reach into the Pannonian Basin, while in the south it borders the Adriatic. The Dinaric Alps generally run in a southeast–northwest direction, and get higher towards the south. The highest point of the country is the peak of Maglić at 2,386 metres , on the Montenegrin border. Other major mountains include Volujak, Zelengora, Lelija, Lebršnik, Orjen, Kozara, Grmeč, Čvrsnica, Prenj, Vran, Vranica, Velež, Vlašić, Cincar, Romanija, Jahorina, Bjelašnica, Treskavica and Trebević. The geological composition of the Dinaric chain of mountains in Bosnia consists primarily of limestone , with deposits of iron, coal, zinc, manganese, bauxite, lead, and salt present in some areas, especially in central and northern Bosnia. thats all. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.

#bosniaherzegovina #bosnia #bosnian #bosnien #bosna #mapschool #mapsolo #mapamap #cartemap #petamap

Why I Am Banned From 20 Countries

I am banned from 20 countries :(

But I found a solution to this ban.

I’m excited to announce…..my new passport!

Nas Daily continues!

PS - I actually misspoke in the video. It’s actually a $150k not $100k investment. Sorry for the confusion!! Hope it’s all clear :)

TOP 5 resons why you should visit Bosnia and Herzegovina

Diversity

The culture of Sarajevo, the nature in the countryside, the warm welcoming in the villages…. Everywhere you look in Bosnia and Herzegovina is so diverse and eclectic that it is difficult to pinpoint just one facet of the country that makes you fall in love with it so easily.

Bosnian Coffee

Coffee isn’t just another drink in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it’s more of a ritual and an age old tradition. Served in an intricate hand-engraved copper coffee pot and served alongside a small bowl full of sugar cubes and a small traditional coffee cup, it can be an overwhelming experience when you order your first coffee in Bosnia! My friend Ian ordered one and didn’t have a clue how to drink it – so best to ask your waiter or a local sitting nearby for a little help. it should also be noticed that getting a coffee in Bosnia is about way more than simply enjoying a hot beverage, it’s more an invitation to for conversation and a great way to build friendships.

Mostar old town

Stari Most (or Old Bridge in English) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous attractions in the entire country. This beautiful bridge located in Mostar’s old town dated back 427 years until it was destroyed on 9 November 1993. The bridge you see today was officially opened in 2004 so isn’t exactly very old! It’s not hard to see why it is the main attraction, as it takes pride of place in the centre of Mostar and looks just as beautiful whether you visit day or night. Exploring the old town is also a must, as you wander through all the cobblestone streets, down narrow alleyways and past busy bazars full of locals selling their wares. A must visit site for any visitor to Bosnia Herzegovina!

Stunning stone churches

No visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina would be complete without a visit to a stone church…or ten. you won’t be able to drive more than a few kilometres without spotting one of these, although as many are tiny they can be hard to spot. often hidden away in the middle of a big field, or lying on the side of a mountain, what makes these small churches so special is that they are entirely made of stone, including the roof.

Friendly people

One of the things you will love the most about Bosnia and Herzegovina is friendliness of people.

On our first day we take a walking tour through the city, watch the locals dive off of the famous bridge, and enjoy a traditional Bosnian meal. The next day we visit the stunning Kravice waterfalls, a Dervish monastery, and hike up to an old abandoned fortress.
