TRANSCRIPT:

Hey guys, this is Samantha and welcome to another Mytanfeet video. in this video We are going to do part 1 of day trips in Guanacaste and these are going to be the best day trips from Tamarindo, Playas del Coco or any of the neighboring beaches. We have a lot to share with you so let's go.

Number one on our list is Rio Celeste, the sky blue river inside Tenorio Volcano National Park. Rio Celeste is the perfect day trip for hiking and nature lovers, as you will be trekking through the lush rainforest to see the waterfall and sky blue river. The entire trail is around 6 kilometers or 3.5 miles and is a must see in Costa Rica.

The next best day trip in Guanacaste is Diamante Eco Adventure Park. This adventure park is excellent for families as they have an animal sanctuary with daily sloth feeding presentations, a traditional house for a cultural experience of chocolate, coffee and sugar cane and one of the most exciting ziplining tours in the country. Their 1.3 kilometer oceanview zipline is a must do in Costa Rica for adrenaline junkies. They also offer an excellent lunch buffet.

Next is one of our most highly recommended day trips from Playas del Coco or Tamarindo, Palo Verde National Park. The Palo Verde day trip consists of a safari boat tour down the Tempisque River to see wildlife such as iguanas, bats, monkeys, crocodiles and river birds. It doesn't require any strenuous activity so Palo Verde is the perfect day trip in Guanacaste for those who are visiting with seniors or young kids as you will be riding a covered motorized riverboat and it takes about half a day so you can be back at your hotel by mid afternoon. Palo Verde offers a highly interesting and educational wildlife watching experience for all visitors.

The next day trip in Guanacaste is for the surfers, a surf trip to Witch's Rock. There are a ton of surfing beaches in Guanacaste including Tamarindo but for those looking for the ultimate surf experience, a Witch's Rock surf trip is a must. You'll boat about an hour from Playas del Coco to the iconic surf spot inside Santa Rosa National Park and on heavy days with a swell, waves can get up to 6 feet or more, ideal for those dreaming of getting barrelled in Costa Rica. On normal days, waves are absolutely perfect for longboarding and shortboarding, with long, open and glassy A-frame waves.

The last day trip in this video is the La Leona waterfall hike. This waterfall hike is only 30 minutes from Liberia and you'll be hiking in the tropical dry forest, swimming in a beautiful blue river and climbing through caves and canyons to get to a hidden cave waterfall. The La Leona waterfall hike is definitely for those looking for a memorable outdoor activity and after the fun hike, you can relax in their natural blue river pools.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video and if you're interested in any of these activities, we have links to our posts in the description below for more details and you can contact us if you want to book any of these tours. Thanks for watching and we'll see you in the next one.

Guanacaste is known for its beautiful beaches, so it's definitely worth a visit to check out some of the best ones. Some great Guanacaste attractions to see include Playa Hermosa, Playa Avellanas, and Playa Negra.

If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, go zip lining or surfing at one of the world-class beaches in Guanacaste. No matter what you choose to do, you're sure to have an amazing time in this stunning corner of Costa Rica.

The Guanacaste Province is located in the northwest region of Costa Rica. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the province of Alajuela to the east, and the Guanacaste Mountain Range to the north. The provincial capital is Liberia.

The Guanacaste Province was first settled by the Spanish in 1524. The province was originally known as Santa Cruz de Castilla. In 1824, the province was renamed Guanacaste. The province was divided into two districts: Nicoya and Santa Cruz.

The Guanacaste Province has a rich history. The province was home to several important battles during the Costa Rican Civil War (1948-1949). The most important battle took place in the town of Santa Cruz. The battle was fought between the National Liberation Army (Ejército de Liberación Nacional - ELN) and the Costa Rican government forces. The ELN was eventually defeated and the province returned to peace.

Today, Guanacaste Province is known for its beautiful province with plenty of natural attractions.

Which Month To Visit Costa Rica? | Weather in Costa Rica!

Richard is the owner/broker of Coldwell Banker Tamarindo, and the founder of the vacation rental company Please get in touch if we can help.

Summary
I hate it when I hear about the dry season rainy season concept in Costa Rica. Any month is a great month to visit. 70% of tourism is concentrated in the Christmas to Easter period, but Costa Rica is a year round destination. My observations are for the Guanacaste area, as you go South it gets wetter and wetter, but broadly the same pattern. Caribbean side is completely different
1. JanuaryFebruaryMarch
Perfect sunny weather every day, no rain, breeze from the Papagayo winds makes this idyllic 86F 30C every day. As you get toward Easter everything is very dry and the grass a bit brown.
2. April/May
The Papagayo winds die off, first week after Easter we start to get rain. The first time it rains after 4 months everyone comes out into the street to feel it. It is very special. The flora goes from brown/yellow to lush green after a couple of weeks. It becomes more humid. Typically sunny hot days, cloud/rain later afternoon
3. June/July/August
Costa Rica has its mini summer that the gringos don't know about. This is a great time to visit. The humidity is less, everything
is still very green because it is still raining some afternoons.
4. September/October
This is the rainy season. It tends to be humid, no breeze. We still get sunny mornings, but afternoons and evenings you can plan on hard rain. Rain like you have never seen before. Sometimes the roads flood, even to chest height sometimes, but then within an hour all the water dispurses. There will be tropical depressions where you don't see the sun for a week.
5. November
Sometimes the rains carry on into November, which is a transition month to summer. I love it at this time and the snow birds start to arrive and you definitely feel that summer is on the way
6. December
This is my favorite month, not many gringos this time of year, but weather is perfect, everything is lush. Ideal sunny dry weather

Top Tips For Traveling In Costa Rica! | Planning your first visit

Richard is the owner/broker of Coldwell Banker Tamarindo, and the founder of the vacation rental company Please get in touch if we can help.

Costa Rica is a wonderful country with friendly people, beautiful beaches and amazing jungle and wildlife. But bring your smarts, to avoid problems.

1. Beach, educational, wildlife, relaxing, cultural. You should prioritize, spiritual
It is good to think about what you want to get out of the trip, there are so many options. Learn to make pottery the traditional way, make tortillas, pick and grind coffee. See sloths etc
2. Which airport? Liberia or San Jose (Juan Santamaria)
There are 2 airports, Liberia (LIR) and San Jose (SJO). Both are clean and efficient and eye wateringly expensive food drink and souvenirs. Neither town has much to offer. At a push there is an interesting half day tour in San Jose, but only really if you need to fill your time. Best to get to your first nights accommodation if you can, rather than a night in an airport hotel
3. The people
In general the people are friendly and welcoming to visitors. You should take time to make some new friends. But just be aware there is an element out there looking to take
advantage and earn money out of you unfairly
4. Seeing the animals and sea life- rainforest walk, boat trip. Stay quiet
In the last month, doing no tours and just staying in my little town I have seen turtles, humpback whales, sharks, crocodiles, sloths, monkeys, iguanas, mapaches. Costa Rica has incredibly plentiful and diverse wildlife. When you are booking a wildlife tour, ask the guide what they have seen in the last few days. Stay quiet, it is not a zoo so if you make noise the animals will go away.
5. Car rental
Book well in advance, research if you need to pay the CDW or if it is covered on your card. They will try to sell it to you
6. Petty theft
Be aware of petty theft, don’t leave things in the car, on the beach, watch your wallet and phone
7. Packlightly, leave expensive jewelry at home
You won’t be dressing for dinner often, so pack lightly, a carry on bag should be enough. Light cottons are great. Leave the

jewelry at home, otherwise it will be a stress if you are leaving it in your car/hotel room.
8. Internal ‘puddle jumper’ flights are great
Take advantage of the great network of local 12 seater puddle jumper planes. Very good and reasonably priced. They use San Jose as a hub. A 5 hour drive is a 30 minute flight. Luggage limits
9. Use airbnbs and small local hotels
There are some beautiful chain hotels such as Four Seasons and Marriott, but try to get the local experience, small hotels and airbnbs. The all inclusives really seal your off in a bubble, get out and experience the local flavor
10.Each beach town is completely different to the next
Research your beaches carefully. Each one has its own unique flavor. Some you need a car, some you don't. Some black beaches some white, surf or no, rocky or swimming beach
11. It is hot
From 11am to 3pm it is hot hot hot. If you have activities, plan them for early or late in the day. Bring lots of water and sunscreen

Hey guys, welcome to another Mytanfeet video. Today we are going to talk about five popular beaches you can visit from Tamarindo.

The first beach you have to visit from Tamarindo is Conchal. To get to Conchal beach, you have to first go to the small town of Brasilito, about a 30 minute drive from Tamarindo.

After we parked our car in Brasilito, we have to walk across this beach to get to Conchal. This beach is called Playa Brasilito and it's because they closed the accesss so cars cannot drive across the beach and it's about a 15 minute walk to get to Conchal.

Before you get to Conchal beach, here's a little tip for those of you who like a good view. As soon as you get to the other end of Brasilito, there is a small hill to your right which you can walk up. Follow the trail and you'll get an amazing view of Conchal beach from the top.

One of the unique characteristics of Conchal beach is that the shore is full of beautiful white shells instead of sand.

The second beach we recommend to visit from Tamarindo is Flamingo beach. Flamingo is very easy to get to and it's about a 30 minute drive from Tamarindo. Flamingo beach is another great beach to come with family or friends, it has very beautiful white fine sand and it has great waves for swimming relaxing, and there's some bars and restaurants on the beach so it's a great spot to come for sunset happy hour.

And for another nice viewpoint, if you drive all the way to the south end of Flamingo beach and go up the hill, you can get a nice view of Brasilito and Conchal from that side.

The third beach to visit from Tamarindo is Playa Grande. It's right across the estuary of Tamarindo and the best way to get there is by car, about a 30 minute drive. Playa Grande is another beach you have to visit when in Tamarindo, it's another great surfing beach with waves nearely all year round. It's also great for long walks on the beach and is part of the Marino Las Baulas National Park.

The fourth beach to visit from Tamarindo is Playa Avellanas. It's about a 30 minute drive from Tamarindo on a mix of paved and unpaved roads. Just a note that this video was made in February, the middle of Costa Rica's dry season so the roads were very dusty and dry.

Playa Avellanas is actually one of our personal favorite beaches near Tamarindo. It has great surfing waves, beautiful sunsets, a really cool bridge that you can come check out that goes across the mangrove and some really good beach front restaurants to enjoy.

And last but not least is Playa Langosta which is only a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from Tamarindo. Playa Langosta is the closest beach to Tamarindo, it's right next to it and it's a great spot to come to do long beach walks and watch the sunset, and it's a great place to come to get away from the crowds of Tamarindo.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video and get to visit one of the places that we talked about. If you want more information on any of the beaches all the links are in the description below and if you want more Costa Rica content, please subscribe to our channel. Thanks for watching.

Visit Tamarindo Guanacaste Costa Rica

We loved our vacation at Los Altos De Eros in Guanacaste Costa Rica, near Tamarindo. We went on 4 Wheelers and side by sides, surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkleing, zip lining, but the best part was just walking up and down the beach. The restaurants are great, we never had a bad meal. Everything is fresh and Tamarindo is priced similar to restaurant prices in the United States.
